http://www.myheritage.com is a good one but I think they charge... Also try seeing if any of your older relatives kept a family tree or something, because that's a good place to start... But the cool thing about myheritage.com is that you can make a family tree, and then it compares your entries with everyone else that's started one, and it will tell you when there's a match... I really like it...
