I am smart, happy by nature, motivated and tired. I am a single mother born without a spoon let alone a silver one and I have made the best of my clouded misinformed decisions. I find beauty in my struggle and strength in my spirit. My mind defines me and no one can really know what exists there because my thoughts are lost in the sound waves in this digital thing called text. I long for a better world and I will try to make it happen first for me and then for others and when I get there everyone will know.

Your poem, "Skanky", really moved me because it is so relevant to women. I've too many times seen women belittled by terms that destroy self-esteem while taking away our power. Thanks so much for sharing your insight. I hope that many other women read your poem and get your message.
