"So, you finally talk to me?"

Hailie sighed into the receiver of her cell. "I’m sorry I haven’t been talking much to you lately, Adrienne. Stuff here at home haven’t been a walk in the park..."

"Calmate, [calm down] everything will be okay. Just don’t stress too much unless you want ugly pimples all over your face."

Hailie giggled. "Thanks."

“So, did Carl invite you to the party or not?"

"How do you know about that."

"You cant keep secrets from me honey!" she laughed.

"True. Well can I meet you at your house? Parents grounded me and Carl cant pick me up here."

"So you're finally breaking the rules?" Adrienne laughed. "Sure be here in fifteen."

"Thanks."

Hailie rushed to her closet and pulled out one of her large purses and stuffed everything she needed from shoes to make-up. Then climbed down the vain-garden from her balcony and ran down the street over to Adrienne’s. Tonight would be fun.

Carl arrived only three minutes late. He honked on his horn two times outside of Adrienne’s house. He sighed a deep breath. Then looked at himself in the rear-view mirror to make sure he looked good.

Carl sat still for at least four seconds then quickly shoved a breath mint in his mouth. He didn’t want to try to hard to impress Hailie but he didn’t want things to go wrong tonight.

"Oh, he's here!" Hailie jumped. She quickly reapplied her lip gloss then rubbed her lips together.

"Chill. You look great."

Hailie nodded nervously. "Do you want a ride or are you driving yourself?"

"Nah, I'll drive myself. Let you and Carl have a nice drive."

Hailie nodded again. She looked out Adrienne's large window that overlooked her front yard. She could see Carl sitting in his car waiting. "I should probably go. Don’t want him to wait to long."

Adrienne nodded and smiled. Her long brown hair pulled up into a high ponytail. "Go, don’t tease him too much. Alright mamas."

Hailie waved a small wave at her friend then made her way down to the front door and onto the brick way to Carl’s car.

"Hey." she greeted as she hopped into his car.

"Hey, you look gorgeous." he smiled his white smile.

"Thanks." Hailie blushed.

They then made their way to the party. "So do you plan on having fun tonight or just kicking it back with your girls." Carl asked.

Hailie smiled at him. She could tell he was nervous. "Um, I think I'm gunna have fun tonight. But it depends. What do you have in store for me?"

Carl kept his eyes on the road. "Don’t know yet. Guess I'll just have to make things up as I go."

"Sounds interesting." Hailie looked out the window at the city lights of downtown Las Angeles. In just a couple of minutes they arrived at the house. It was big. And luminous. Great big glass windows cascading walls in every place. Definitely a party house.

"You ready for this?" Carl asked. Flashing a gorgeous smile at her.

She smiled back. "Definitely."

He escorted her out of the car and into the house. She nervously grasped his hand and he held onto it. He blushed, smiling at her once again.

But nearby was one of Brads acquaintances. Snapping pictures of Hailie and Carl on his phone and sending them to Brad...

Brad winced with anger. Every five minutes or so, his acquaintance, Nick, would send him disturbing pictures. He scrolled through them once again and clenched his fists. Seeing Hailie with another guy made him angry. He could only imagine her with himself.

His cell phone vibrated again, another image appearing on the screen. This one killing him the most; Hailie lip locking with another guy. Brads eyes fired with fury. But then he came up with an idea.

Hailie broke away from Carl and smiled.

“I really like you Hailie. I hope you know that.” his eyes gleamed.

“Is everything okay?” Carl asked once he saw that worried look on Hailie’s face.

“Um, yea. Things are good. Just got a message from my mom. She found out that I snuck out so I have to get home before they have a panic attack.”

“Do you need a ride?”

“Yea sure. Just drop me off at the end of my street. If my parents see me with you, then they’ll probably kill you too.”

“You’re probably right.” He laughed. “C’mon lets go.”

“Thanks for everything.” Hailie said once Carl stopped the car.

“Don’t trip.”

“Right.” She opened the door slightly. “Oh and call me.” she smiled then leaned in and kissed him gently.

“Okay.” he smiled back.

Hailie smiled once more then walked down her street to her window. Carl watched her to make sure she got home safe then drove back to the party.

Nick watched intently as Carl drove out of the neighborhood. “He’s gone.” he said into the speaker.

“Good.” Brad told him. “We’ll be getting rid of him.”
