::TWO WEEKS LATER::

Lexi arrised from her comfortable bed as she reached for her cell phone that was ringing repeatedly. She groaned as she grasped it in her arms.

   "Hello?" she moaned. Her eyes still closed.

   "Lex," the person from the other line said. She heard a sniffle and aroused with curiousity.

   "Josh? Whats up?" she asked concerned.

   She heard him inhale deeply. "Something happened...."

   "What? Where are you? What happened?"

   "Lex, Im at the hospital right now...My dad commited suicide..." he said.

   Lexi's eyes shot wide open. "What!! Oh, God! How the hell did this happen?! Did he hurt you? Are you okay?!"

   "No, Im fine. I really am. It's just...." he sniffled again as he tried not to cry. "He lost a lot of blood....He's dead."

   "Wha-" she began to say but before she could, the line went dead. She didnt sleep the whole night. She just cried and wept for the pain that Josh was going through right now.

   Its been three whole weeks and Lexi hasnt heard of Josh at all. She had cried the last couple of nights thinking that Josh didnt want to be with her anymore. It was a feeling that she hated and that she wished she would never feel again but there she was. Caught in the middle of a horrible feeling of love and hate.

Lexi sat at the dinner table and listened to her mom weep as she ate breakfast alone. Lauren left to the park earlier so she had no idea what was going on.

  She ate her eggs quietly as her mom cried softly in the living room. Although she and Ben divorced, she still felt bad. And couldnt help but think that she was the reason for Ben's decision to commit suicide.

And that's what scared Lexi the most. The possibility that Josh may never want to see her again because her family was the reason that he lost his dad. His one and only parent.

   What would happen to the kids? So many questions taunted Lexi and she was afraid of all the possibilities.

   She got up off the table and put her dishes in the sink. She slowly walked to her mom. "Mom, I think Im gunna go for a walk."

   Her mom did nothing but nod. She obviously wanted to be alone so Lexi exited out the door as quickly as she could.

   She walked down the street in the morning sun. It wasnt quite a sunny day but it wasnt that dark either. It was kinda in between and kinda peaceful. She kept walking until she finally reached the beach. The place where she and Josh first met.

  The sat on the beach across from eachother. Both studying for some major test that they had the next day. They went to the same school together but they didnt talk much. Lexi couldnt help but feel incredible nervous around him. She felt kinda strange about having a crush at the age of eleven but she couldnt push the feeling away. It was electrifying.

   People walked by wondering why two eleven year olds were on the beach with homework? Lexi didnt mind what they thought. She liked the beach. It helped her think.

  She felt burning eyes on her and she looked up to see the boy staring at her. He quickly looked down once she caught his gaze and Lexi smiled. It was nice to know that she wasnt the only one nervous. She looked up at him and admired every aspect of him. He had soft, wavy brown hair and bright blue eyes. Lean body and seemed to play league baseball since he had a baseball hat.

He looked up at her nervously and she quickly looked down, embarresed. She noticed that he smiled once he looked down again and admired him some more. He looked way better when he smiled cause' he had straight, perfect, pearly teeth.

   She smiled at herself too. And tried to concentrate on her notes but felt something soft brush against her leg.

   She looked to see what it was and saw a folded peice of lined paper. She looked up at the boy and saw him smiling at her genuily. She smiled back and unfolded the piece of paper.

She read, "more than just lust??   -josh..."

She smiled again and she reread the note over and over again. She looked up and held the gaze between her soft hazel eyes against his bright blue ones. They smiled at eachother once more and knew that things between them were going to be real close.

  And from then on, they remained the best of friends and something more....Untill now...Or until she would finally see him again.
