   It was five in the morning when Lexi entered the shower. She smiled as she flashed back to a couple of hours ago. She let the hot water run down and burn away all the bad things that were going on in her life.

After about an hour in the shower she decided to come out and get dressed. She put on some boxer shorts and a tank top. The heat had risen up the last couple of days and it burned up her temperature.

   She heard a small knock on the door and she assumed it was Josh so she immediately opened the door. But it wasnt Josh. Instead, it was her mom. She stared at her not knowing what to say.

   "Can we talk?" Janese asked her daughter with a slight smile.

   "What are you doing up so early?" she asked as she looked dow the hallway to make sure Ben wasnt awake.

   "I coudnt go to sleep knowing i treated you the way I did. And I feel really bad, especially after that talk I had with Ben."

   Lexi nodded. "I heard."

   "Yea, I know. I came up to your room after that discussion to talk, but Josh was in your room and you two seemed to be talking seriously. Didnt want to disturb."

   "You heard everything, didnt you?" she said looking down. She didnt like the fact that her mom was eves-dropping. Especially on that particular conversation between her and Josh.

   "Yes, and I'm glad I did. I've hurt you so much and I've been so cruel to you in the past years. I dont know why I acted the way I did. I guess I just didnt want you t get hurt the way I did with your dad."

   "Mom, what happened between you and dad has nothing to do with it."

   "Yes it does! You lost an amazing man due to drunk driving and the way you can comprehend to Josh that way is so amazing. You're right, if you would have told me that you two were seeing eachother before then I would have made you too break up. That's why I'm so grateful to have gone through this experience. I dont regret any of it but I do wish for a new beginning."

   "What about you and Ben? I dont want to be the reason for you're divorce."

   "Honey, there are many reasons for this divorce and you are the least of them. But trust me, this divorce is for the good of us all."

   Lexi smiled. She didnt know what to say, worried that she may say the wrong thing and make this situation even worse. So she didnt say anything. Just smiled.

   Janese smiled back and kissed her daughter on the forhead. "We're leaving tonight. I already have our passports. And our plane leaves at eight p.m. So start packing your bags."

   Lexi nodded and her mom walked down the hallway to the stairs. Lexi felt bad about leaving but felt relieved also.

   She headed back to her room and smiled at the gorgeos body that lay on her bed. She silently shook him, "Josh wake up! Josh!"

   "Huh?" he asked as he shot up from bed. "W-What! What's happening?"

   "Nothing. Well, Im leaving tonight...At eight."

   "What, why?"

   "My mom doesnt want to spend another day on this vacation with your dad. So we're going back home tonight."

   "Oh, I see. Well, I'll still be able to see you when I get back, right?" he asked longing for her to say yes.

   "Depends. If your dad lets us see eachother." she said and looked down. That was exactly what Lexi feared. The fact that his dad will forbid Josh from seeing Lexi becasue of an inncident that occured between him and her mom.

   "I dont care if he forbids me or not. It's not gunna stop me from seeing you."

   "We'll see." she smiled.

   "Can I tell you a secret?" he asked.

   She looked at him. "Yea, sure. What do you want to tell me?"

   "Last night. When my dad hit me. It was an accident."

   "What? How can that be an accident?...." she asked, furious as she looked at the bruise.

   "My dad, he haa a symtom that causes him to over-react during serious moments. So the hit was nothing new. "

   "Oh, well why didnt you tell me this before?" she asked.

   "I thought you would freak out and report him or something." he told her.

   "No, never. Unless he did something REALLy serious. Then you just have to report something like that."

   "Yea, but my dad woudnt do nothing more than to just give me one hit. But sometimes, he can just lose it."

   They remained quiet for a couple of minutes. Not knowing what to say that would comfort the other.
