 Everything in Lexi's stomach lurched. Would Ben really divorce her mom all because of an old, secret relationship between their children? No one knew, except for Ben, of course. It was his decision anyway.

   "Ouch!" Josh yelped as Lexi dabbed the bruise that ran along his right jaw bone. "What are you putting on me anyway?"

   "Alchohol. It will help the swelling. Just dont get high off of it." her voice dropped as she said the last sentence. She still couldnt get the image of Josh and that girl out of her mind. It was like it was stuck in there.

   "Lexi, we need to talk about that."

   "I thought we already did."

   "We didnt. You did. You didnt even let me have a say in the conversation."

   Lexi didnt respond to him. Instead, she applied more alcohol to the towlet and dabbed his jaw bone some more. Josh took it as a sign to start his confession.

   "I didnt mean to get drunk that night, I just went in to get one drink but some random girl manipulated me into drinking some more. I started imagining things later on and I imagined her as you, and that's the only reason I led her on when she tried to kiss me."

   Lexi remained quiet and Josh became nervous. "You dont believe me, do you?"

   "No, I believe you." she answered. "You do get drunk every now and then and I dont expcect something else. So its no surprise to me."

   "Then why are you still mad?" he asked.

   "Im not mad, just confused."

   He crinkled his eyebrows together, giving her the "I dont get it..." stare.

   "I had this bizarre talk with this girl and she remided me that the good things in life aren't easy to get unless you try...I never tried, although I should have. That's the advice my dad gave me before he...Well you know my point."

   Josh felt for her. After her dad died, she became so sad and depressed. And to make matters worse, her mom became as strict as ever and ran Lexi's life through the wall. It drove her insane, but with Josh there, she was able to deal.

Now, she was stuck in the same clump. But this time it was even worse.

   "You hit your own son?!" Lexi and Josh jumped once they heard the sudden yells coming from down stairs.

   "Here we go again..." Josh sighed.

   "He insulted me!" The heard Ben yell.

   "So you solved it by hitting him! What the hell is that going to teach him. Oh my God, I cant believe that you would do such a thing! You can you have the nerve to hit one of your own kids, what kind of parent are you to these kids?!"

   "Oh, like you have done any better Lexi. What? You havent noticed that she's been miserable this whole vacaion?! It's pretty obvious, dontcha' think?"

   "DONT TELL ME HOW TO RAISE MY DAUGHTER!"

   "THEN DONT TELL ME HOW TO RAISE MY SON!!"

    Lexi let out a tear as she heard the horrible conversation. It brought back memories of when her mom and dad would fight before they settled for divorce. And before he drived himself insane and got into a car accident and died.

   "Are you okay?" Josh asked. Now very concered for Lexi.

   "Josh," she wispered. Now starting to cry. "Please...Promise me that you wont get drunk anymore...Our parents are fighting because of you getting drunk....We're fighting because of you getting drunk...I dont want you to get so fed up with this and end up getting as drunk as my dad the day he died! Please..." she sobbed.  "I just cant handle the pressure anymore. I dont want to lose you now that you're all I have left in this messed up world that I'm living in."

  Josh tried to hold back the tears but let them out as soon as he pulled Lexi in for a hug.

   "P-Promise me J-Josh!!" she cried on his shoulder.

   "I promise. I wont leave you, I promise." he wispered softy into her ear as he stroked her hair.

   Janese stood against her daughters door as she listened to her and Josh speak. For the first time since her divorce, she felt the need to let Lexi have total freedom out of her mothers reach. She's made her daughters life a living hell so far. What more could she do? A tears escaped her eyes as she shut them close and listened to her daughter cry.

   She felt like the worst person on earth.

::The Next Day::

Lexi looked up at her cieling. Wondering what to do with her already messed up life. She listened to the faint snores besides her and she smiled. She asked Josh to sleep with her tonight because she was afraid of being alone in this house with her step-dad.

   After the fight between her parents, her mom decided to stay in the other guest house since she refused to stay under the same roof with Ben. And she took the kids with her, worried that he might go insane and hit them too.

  As for Josh and Lexi. After eves-dropping on their heart-to-heart conversation, she decided to leave them alone.

   Now, Lexi layed awake next to the person that made her feel most comfortable. He moved around a little and finally stopped when  he draped his arm over Lexi's waist.

   She giggled a little and Josh heard it.

   "What are you still doing awake?" he murmured.

   "I just woke up a couple of minutes ago."

   He looked at her alarm clock that read 11:06 p.m. "But you've only been asleep for an hour."

   "I know, but this is the first peaceful night I've had on this vacation. I want to cherish every moment of it." she giggled again as she rest her hand over his arm that was draped over her. And he snuggled closer to her.

   "It's wierd how something so messed up can be brought together by fate." she said soflty.

   "What do you mean?" he asked.

   She got up a little and balanced her weight on her elbows, looking deep into his eyes. "Dont you see it? The fact that we have to be stuck in this vacation together, the strange girl giving us advice on what to do with us, our parents divorcing, and us sharing a room. Seems like God is trying to get us together."

   "Well, God doesnt make mistakes...Wait, how do you know about the strange girl?"

   "She met up with me a couple times, she said she knew you."

   "Oh. Sooo,....What do you want to do?"

   Lexi looked at him and smiled. She leaned into him and kissed him firmly. She ran her fingers through his hair as they she got on top of him and kissed him some more.

   "What are you doing?" Josh said once they finally broke apart.

   She smirked at him and removed her top. Leaving Josh breathless. "Like you said, God doesnt make mistakes." she tugged at his belt buckle, want it off. "Show me what you got!"
