Lexi cried into her hands and she listened to the waves of the ocean crash onto the shore. It was quite soothing but didnt take away the pain that she was feeling. She had the worst arguement with Josh. Her words were pretty harsh but she didnt regret them because he really did deserve it.

All Lexi was doing, was playing fair. But now she was done with the game. She came on this trip so that her mom could be happy, even if it meant having to be heart broken.

   "You guys had a fight, didnt you?" Lexi looked up, only to see Herman.

   "Yea, we did." She wiped away the tears from her eyes. "We're done."

   "You guys arent done. You're just going through some rough troubles. But dont run away from him Lexi, cause there will be a time when he suffers and your gunna be wishing you hadnt left him and then it will be your life that will be ruined!"

   "Is that a prediction or just your imagination?!" Lexi snapped. She didnt like that Herman was butting into something that wasnt her business. "Why do you even care about what's happening between Josh and I?"

   "Dont question me Lexi. I've seen many things happen to girls like you that run away from their deepest fears. They end up miserable and lonely, do you want that to happen!"

   "No but I'm not going to risk it!

   "Life's about taking risk! So what if you're breaking a rule, just live and have fun with the most that you have."

   Lexi enhaled deeply and looked at the ocean."That's what my dad would always say."

   Herman felt the pain that Lexi was feeling since, she, herself went through that same loss. "I'm sorry, but listen to your dad. He knows what's best for you. You got a big risk waiting ahead of you. Just take it."

   "How do you know all this stuff? About me and Josh?"

   Herman watched as a fragile tear slid down towards Lexi's jawbone. "Dont worry about that, I know many things. But trust me, if we were to switch bodies, you'd see how obvious it is that you and Josh need eachother.

   It was getting dark and Lexi started to shiver as the wind blew lightly against her body. "And why do you say that?"

   "All I can tell you is that someone's going to get hurt soon," she got up and brushed the sand off her legs. "Real soon."

Lexi stared as she walked away. Hermans words soon took over her whole conciouss and she became worried. She ran back to the beach house as fast as she could.

   "Mom!" she yelled as she entered through the glass door. "Ben? Is anyone here?!"

   Everything was silent. Deadly silent.

   "Lexi!"

   She turned around and saw her mom and Ben staring at her as if she had just commited suicide.

  "Oh, I was scared for a moment! Where were you guys? You had me worried."

   "And why is that?" Janese asked concerned.

   "Nothing, it was just wierd how the house was so quiet. Is something wrong?"

   Janese and Ben exchanged glances, not knowing who should make the first move. "Lexi," Janese stepped a step closer to her daughter. "I found something very disturbing in your room this morning."

   "What were you doing in my room?" she asked confused.

   "Delivering your laundry."

   "It's not our point though," Ben interfered. "Lexi, when your mom entered your room this morning she found a piece of paper." Ben reached into his pocket and pulled out a folded piece of paper and handed it to Lexi.

  She opened it quickly, still confused about her parents awkward behavior. But once she saw what was in the note, she completely sank.

   I'm so angry, and upset... I dont know what I am anymore. Nor, do I know what me and Josh are. He kisses me, then leaves me hopeless and confused. I cry but I dont know why, God this would have been so much easier if my mom wouldn't have married Ben. But then again, it is my fault for not telling her in the first place. But even if I did tell her she would've just got mad at me for disobeying her "standards" and made me break up with him. Either way, I lost. I guess life doesnt always end in happy endings with the one you love.

She looked up at her parents, who were glaring at her angrily now. At that moment, Josh came through the door. His hair was slightly wet and his green, emerald eyes glowed in the dim light.

   "Josh," Ben spoke. "Have a seat!"
