Forever and Always 10

I walked into the living and my dad was there, I tried to turn around and go back to my room but he saw me and said "Maria, come here..."

I slowly walked over to him and sat down on the couch.  "Where were you?"  my father asked.

"I was...with Adonis..."  I didn't want to tell him that I got kidnapped and raped because then he would tell my mother and she would never let me out of her sight again.

My father slapped me and quitely yelled, "I thought I taught you better than to be a little slut!"

I fell to the ground from the force of his blow.  I was shaking in fear.  "You listen to me,"  my father said, putting a pocket knife to my throat. "if you pull another stunt like that ever again I'll slit your throat!  So you better either be good, or move out."  he threw me to the floor and I got up as fast as I could and ran to my room.

I looked through my suitcase and pulled out my cell phone, I dialed Adonis' number.

Hello?  he said.

Adonis, this is Marie...can you come and pick me up?  I asked, still crying.

Of course, I'm on my way.  he said, hanging up.

I ran into my parents room, my mother was on the bed, "Mom I'm going to the coffe shop with Adonis, he's on his way to pick me up right now."

"Oh...ok.  What happened to your face sweetie?"  she asked reaching for my cheeck where my father slapped me.

"I...er...I'm not sure."  I lied.

I put my cell phone in my pocket and walked out of the front door, Adonis was in his car waiting for me.  I got in the car and he immediatly said, "What's wrong?"

I started sobbing into his arm, "It-it's my father!"  I stuttered.

"Calm down and talk slowly, tell me everything.  We'll go to the coffe shop, ok?"  he said.

I nodded, "I'm pregnant."  I blurted out.  Adonis looked at me funny, but I continued anyway. "My husband died, I used to live in Arkansas, I only came down here to visit but I'm not sure if I want to go back.  Today my father slapped me and threatened me with his pocket knife and said that I either had to be good or move out."

Adonis looked into my eyes and said, "Don't worry, if things even worse, you can move in with me, I'll always be here for you." 

I smiled and kissed him passionatly.
