The last day of school and Helena was staring at the clock just wishing for the bell to mark the end of school. Only a few seconds left and she was egging on the clock counting down in her head 10, 9 come on!!! Come on!!! She silently whispered to her self, 5,4,3,2 The bell sliced through the silence of the class. Everyone erupted with noise and excitement, as they wouldn’t have to see their school desks or teachers until next year. Helena had to almost run to get her to her locker and then make the long way to the bus.
Damn she thought to her self there were no more seats left on the bus and she had to stand up. She hated standing up.
On her first day on the bus she had to stand up and she toppled to the ground when the bus suddenly stopped and the whole bus burst out laughing at her. She got up face bright red from embarrassment she tried to laugh along but it got caught in her throat and a sob came out instead.

The first week of the holidays and her kitten, Tamson had already gone missing. She’d got him for her birthday earlier that month and was really fond of him so she was devastated when she found out that head gone.

Second week of the holidays and she had already annoyed the hell out of friends them by calling them everyday. Hope her best friend would never spend more than 15 minutes talking to her always making up an excuse to get away.
Helena always felt a sinking feeling in her stomach when her friend (Hope) had gone, knowing that soon she’d get so annoyed that Hope would tell her to not call for the rest of the holidays.
This eventually happened 4 weeks into the holidays.

Almost Christmas, now, and snow had started falling as it usually did in New Jersey.

It was night-time when it happened during a small get together with her dads friends and their wives.
Helens brother Seth was there for Christmas he almost never got to spend time with his family because he worked for the navy and they always needed his expertise.

Almost 1 in the morning and Helena was busting to go to the toilet so she went upstairs to the toilet.
Her house was kind of big, not a mansion but almost like one. The stairs were marble and so was the floor on the first story of the house. Where the stairs were in the entrance room of the house and because it didn’t have much in it echoed very easily.
When you went up the stairs the bathroom was the first to the left, Helena’s bedroom was left of the bathroom and Seth’s was next to Helena’s. The Gym and recreational room was right of the door and at the very end of the corridor was the attic a very peaceful and an amazing place to hide Helena’s parents almost called the police once because they couldn’t find her and she couldn’t hear them calling for her because she was listening to her ipod and reading a very interesting book. Helena also liked to chill out there it was her place to hide away from the world when she felt sad, embarrassed herself or had an argument with her parents.

Walking through the entrance room. Helena regrets not turning on the lights she thought that the light from the room she just left would be ok but it was scarcely enough to see the beginning of the top of the stairs.
She clung to the rail of the stairs and felt around with her feet to find the next step.

As Helena clumsily ascended the stairs she thought she saw a black figure climb out of the window and slip away into the night. She suddenly got a sick feeling in her stomach worse than when her friend hung up on her or that time on the bus. She felt as though some one wanted her dead, badly. Helena was getting dizzy and sick from fear, the darkness made it worst. She was not usually afraid of the dark but now she was close to wetting herself. Helena could hear the tap dripping and wondered who had been stupid enough to lave the tap on.

She finally got to the bathroom, turned on the lights. She let out a high, blood-curdling scream.
The bathroom was covered in blood, the taps, the basin, the new white towels covered in blood, never to be white again, the floor was slippery and stained Helen’s bare feet, but the most eye drawing feature was the writing on the mirror written in blood…  HELENA YOUR NEXT it read but what made Helena scream more than anything else was her kitten, Tamson, his head was sitting on the bench, eyes open, staring blankly into space. Tamson head had obviously been hacked off with a blunt axe because you could still see the spinal cord hanging over the side of the bench. The head was still dripping blood making a sound like a dripping tap.
Helena had seen enough and threw up making the bathroom smell worse than it already did.
Helen’s parents and her brother came running up the stairs at the sound of her scream and let out gasps of shock when they saw the state of the bathroom.

Helena’s father put his comforting arms around her and she cried. She cried out of fear. She cried out of misery for her pet Tamson and she cried out of anger and frustration because she new that she would never be able to hurt the person that hurt her.
