Book Review: Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows

Hey! Thanks for coming here :] I really wanted to share my opinions on books i've read or am reading. And this is a great place to do it. So tell me what you thought of this book too, and be sure to give me a rating plzz. Well, ive got a lot to say about this book...
Stuff I liked: This book is SO AWESOME!!! I love the Harry Potter series, the books are so amazing! And this last book was no exception. First of all, I loved how INCREDIBLY DEEP the characters are. There turns out to be a different and new side to many of the characters, like Lupin, Dumbledore definitely, Ron, and also Snape! It's really exciting and it makes the book a lot more in depth and detailed. I loved the part about Snape especially. It was sooooo sad when I found out how much Snape loved Lily (sorry if I spoil the book :]) It was shocking in a good kind of way, and now I realize how brave and loving (kinda weird to be saying that ;]) he was. And it makes me really sad that he died.
Another thing I loved was all the emotions and feelings. The things that Harry was going through the author described in so much detail that I knew EXACTLY how he felt. I could really feel his pain, especially when Dobby dies. It was literally heart-wrenching, and I felt nearly as bad as Harry, because JK Rowling described that so darn well. It was like a connection. Well, at least all my tears didn't get on the book, especially at the last part when Harry is walking into the forest toward his death. WOW that was emotional.
Stuff I didn't like: Well, there's almost nothing to put here! The only thing I would say is all the deaths in this book. Some, I think were possibly unneeded. But you have to have some, otherwise its just not a good story. I felt sad when Hedwig died! I mean, what did that sweet little owl do to anyone? And Dobby too! Awwwwwwwwww! I was crying at the deaths of Fred, Dobby, Tonks, and Lupin, and almost Snape. Later, I did actually cry for Snape. I really wish he didn't die! :[
My questions about the book: I did not have any questions about the book, it was all very clear to me. Another great thing about the book, it wasn't confusing. Except it got a little murky about the Deathly Hallows, but that cleared up soon and I fully understood it after a while.

snape died? what?!?! sorry i never read/watch harry potter. there is so much BLOOD. i can't stand it! i know who snape is because i watched the first movie when i was like six years old. |

yeah ron and hermione were funny :] and harry and ginny were ok too...i mean who else would harry like? hermione? lolz :] Also the epilogue was kinda weird and sorta unrelated to the rest of the story |

cool, I just finished the book 2 days ago! I started reading the series in July (late Harry Lover) but I truly enjoyed this book. What I loved about it is that she surprised you and kept you on the edge of your seat through the whole thing. I didn't really agree with all the deaths (especially Hedwig :'() but I understood why she put all the deaths in there. I also don't understand why people don't like Ginny and Harry. It might just be the hopless romantic in me but I happen to love that couple. I also love Ron and Hermione being together. I thought it was hilarious when they started to make out before the battle and Harry's trying to get their attention. lol |

I loved the book, but to tell you the truth, the ending made me a little angry... she went a little too far into the future. it was like... culture shock almost, lol. And I literally freaked out when I thought Harry was going to die and then was dead. i had to put the book down I was so upset, so then it was even longer until I figured out that he was okay, lol. totally agree with you on the rating. :) |
