Frank's POV

I sat there sobbing. We had been together for years. She was my first real love. And now she was gone. She had left me because of the amount of time I spent on the road and not spending enough time with her. I was all alone in this big house with no one to talk to. No one would understand what I had just gone through. None of my friends had been with someone for this long only for them to walk out on you.

One of my dogs came up to me and tried to get some attention from me. I sat there patting it, until the tears stopped. I didn't know what to do. I didn't know whether I wanted to talk to someone or just to be alone.

I turned on the television in front of me. The tv had Fuse on. Obviously she had been watching this before she decided to leave. Ironically, our old video, "I don't love you", was playing. I sighed as I watched the video clip, looking at the black and white, and the bits of gray. At the moment my head felt like the gray. I couldn't make much sense out of anything. I didn't know what I wanted to do. Looking at Gerard singing with passion on the screen seemed to comfort me. I figured maybe I should call him up. I'm sure he would listen to me. He'd probably make me feel better too.

I dialed his home phone number. His wife answered.

"HELLO?" she screamed into the phone. She kinda sounded mad.

"Uh, hi, it's Frank."

"GERARD'S BUSY!" she said, hanging up.

I stood there with the phone in my hand dumbfounded. What the hell had just happened?

I decided to dial Bob, knowing that he was in Jersey for the weekend. He could cheer me up pretty good.
"Hello?" he answered.

"Hi Bob, it's Frank."

"Oh hey, what's up?"

"Do you think you could come over for a bit? I wanna talk to you."

"Sure. I'll be around in about half an hour is that ok?"

"Yep that's fine. I'll see you then Bob."

"Bye"

After hanging up I walked into the hall way. There were shards of glass everywhere from where she had smashed things she tried throwing at me before she left. I got a broom and began to sweep everything up. By the time it was all in a pile on the floor, a glint of gold caught my eye. On a closer inspection I noticed her ring in the pile. I picked it up and pocketed it, before continuing to clean up the sharp glass, before the dogs would walk through it and seriously hurt themselves.

I sat back on the lounge and waited for Bob. He could arrive at any time. As i thought this, the door bell rang. I went over to greet him at the door. He seemed to notice my tear-stained face. I guess I should have washed it before.

"Frank! What's wrong?"

"Come in," I said after a long miserable sigh. "I just needed someone to talk to."

"Ok," he said as he came inside.

We walked through and sat down on the back deck. My dogs were very excited to see him.

"So, Frank, you gonna tell me what's wrong?" Bob asked after an awkward silence.

"She left." I said, explaining how the love of my life decided she didn't love me anymore.

"Shit! If it happened to you, it could happen to anyone. We all envied your relationship with her. We always thought everything was perfect."

"Well it hasn't been for a very long time. I guess I was just too stupid to see it."

"Frank, you aren't stupid. I guess these things just sorta... happen."

Bob spent the next half hour trying to comfort me, telling me it would all be ok. I knew it wouldn't. I knew she wouldn't come back to me. She had gone forever. Finally Bob had to leave to go back to his girlfriend.

"See ya Bob. Thanks for everything."

"No problem little buddy. I hope it gets better," he said to me, giving me a hug.

About 5 minutes after I had said goodbye to Bob, I was sitting in the lounge in utter silence until I heard a car door slam right out the front of my house. What the hell?

I stood up and walked over to the front door. I was going to check this out. I opened the door to see someone's hand about to press the doorbell.
"Gerard?" I said, looking at his tear-stained face in surprise.
