I remember when I entered the three-story house. The flesh smell strongly ran into my nose in all of the sudden as I looked around the house—long, russet carpet on the stairs, huge living room with big soft, tan sofas among the circle, glassy table, long, dark chocolate table with six chairs in dinning room that makes itself looking fancy, circle, light tan wood table in breakfast room beside the huge kitchen, and a medium-sized, simple television in front of the black, long sofas and chair with the wood table. Everything reminded in the house of the television. It was very fine house to me. I didn’t realize that my mouth was dropped a jaw so far. All of the things I never saw before in my entire life. Of course, I was only nine years old that able to experience.
I was still carrying my ruby purse with me. I was very surprised. Did my parents buy the house? Did they buy everything in the house? My mind was bewildered in the misplaced world little by little but I ignored my questions in my brain to look around the house.
I followed my parents to the long downstairs to the basement. I was looking at the blank, naked wall with the simple words on the portrait. It said, "Welcome to Home." I didn’t understand these words very well because I still spoke in Spanish language than using these languages—English and American Sign Language yet.
I walked to the lounge as I was in my lost world once again as I moved myself to the pictures on the fireplace. My eyes were laying on the five people in one family—one curly, darkened girl right next to her little, blackened hair sister, and little brother near their parents. I was not sure at all if they lived here at the new home. I didn’t understand. Maybe it was their home.
I still followed my parents downstairs straight to the right. I heard the great noise to vibrate my body and I didn’t understand what it was. I closed my eyes to my parents once again. I continued to walk to the right once again to the bedroom where we’d slept. I saw the huge, king-sized bed in the bedroom close to the walls in the right. I was looking around with my mouth opened. I didn’t speak at all yet. Yes, I was very silence girl but I could be crazy.
I looked at the small medium-sized television close to the closets and door. It was unbelievable to me especially to my sister.
Later, I traveled myself around the house when I was alone with my sister, Vanessa. I knew she didn’t care about me in the house. Only if she care, she’d checked around to see me if I was okay. I didn’t worry at all. I saw in myself as a bad girl until my parents’ friends, The Family Rossil.
To be continued...
