Promise of Love (Finale)

After school, I was called by Jake's parents to request me going over at their house for something I needed to know and have. I didn't understand why but I decided to go there straight. I bought Stephie with me because I knew I didn’t want to be alone at all. Every time I felt nervous once again. God, I hate that feelings of the butterflies. I didn’t think they knew I was pregnant humanly. I waited for Stephie to walk toward me. I was going to drive and waiting on the driver’s seat. All of the sudden, she didn’t let me to drive because she knew I was pregnant. I didn’t want to argue anymore, so I let her driving me to Jake’s house to see his parents.

We reached in attendance at their house and I could see my house right there closer to their house. I didn’t want to let my dad to see me anymore in pregnancy. I hated to see my dad’s sad expression seeing me like this but I never gave up myself. Never. Yeah, it hurt so much but I accepted it at least.

Stephie was wrapping around me outside of the car after she locked the door. Whispering under her breath, "Are you ready, honey?" I nodded and looked at my belly, as I smiled. "Hello, Rose." I was happy having a baby with me.

Seeing that huge three-stories house, I remembered the memories with Jake. My first kiss. There were so many memories in his house we had shared together. I knew his parents never mind us as a couple. I was happy that way but I knew her mother was sometimes strict with Jake. One simple rule was not allowed to go out at least he asked her but sometimes it didn’t work at all. I chuckled myself at one memory to sneak out together on the boat. It was a lot of fun to hang out with him. My favorite memory. After that, I was having big trouble with my parents. Ha, it was funny thing but I got serious also.

Anyway, I walked to the door and knocked but it was a little bit ajar. I was puzzled, as I walked into the house with Stephie in a dead silence. I asked, "Hello, are you here?" The words repeatedly in an echo once, it bothered me. It never sounded like this way before. It was very strange. I took Stephie with me but I warned her to hush and follow me. I walked upstairs toward Jake’s room. I was misunderstanding. I could still smell his beautiful cologne. My favorite perfume. He always used it all the times as much as I remembered. I walked toward his bed where we used to kiss in first time. I learned by my heart. I couldn’t never forget the first moment we had.

Whispering, "I can feel you are still here, Jake." I knew Stephie was looking at me but I didn’t care. I gawked at something on the bed I didn’t notice. Seeing an envelope with my name on it, ‘Lynn,’ I picked it up. I tore it apart. Noticing the letter, I was getting it out to read but something heavily fell out of the envelope. It dropped on the floor. I knew I couldn’t pick it up because of my pregnancy. "Stephie, please, can you pick it up on the floor?" I asked graciously as I stared at it. I couldn’t see it little far and it was hided under my full-size belly. I hadn’t read the letter until I saw something. She picked it up with her sound of gasp until she let herself to cry in one tear falling down on her bright, pink cheek.

The engagement, white gold ring with a beautiful white diamond on the top. I was surprised as I gasped with my hand on my stomach.

I suddenly grabbed the letter to read and it said:

I was shocked but surprised he knew I was having his child. I was happy for him to know but at the same time as I was crying at the letter and ring he’d planned to give me. Stephie gave me a ring and I took it. I slipped it in my ring finger.

After the labor in months later, I gave to my twin babies beautiful names after our middle names, Rose and Ethan. I raised them well and they went to college to become doctors to be like their father, Jake. That’s the story I am telling you.
