Can't Your Eyes See? [9]

CHAPTER NINE: THE POLICEMEN ARRIVE

Ryan still stood there and watched Jonathan with his fire inside of him, while he was hugging Emma. Emma was sobbing lightly on Ryan’s chest and enveloping her soft arms around his waist. I will never see my father once again. Her thoughts were weighting her heart deep in a black hole, screaming for a help. Never again. She tranquilly hugged him, until the sirens suddenly frightened her.

Emma gasped and backed off, wrapping herself around. Never again will I see you once again. The feelings of a fear in her mind connected her broken heart. I can’t believe it. It is happening right in this moment. Her tear steamed down her face with her emotionless expression, staring at her father, Jonathan. Jonathan looked at Emma and mouthed, "I love you, my little girl. I will always miss you." As he continued to sit there on the bed in the motel and permitted himself for the tears to slip away.

The rapid footsteps rushed to the door where Emma and Ryan stood outside of the door, and let the policemen entered.

Emma blurted out crying. She covered her face, letting her head down toward the dirty, red floor. Ryan turned his head to her out of the blue. He comforted her, and pressed his lips against her forehead, throwing his well-built arms around Emma. She still cried in her hands, gradually allowed her hands go, and cuddled Ryan. Why does he tries to hurt me more than before? Why is today? Emma screamed in a thought in a silence while the tears wept in a flood. Luckily, she didn’t use makeup on her face.

One of the policemen asked, "Are you alright, miss? Let’s go to the station. Your mother and brother are already there, so don’t worry about the van. Just leave it here." Emma nodded without saying anything.

Jonathan finally walked out of the motel with handcuffs behind his back. His head was staring at the dirty, red floorboards. Emma saw his hurt eyes deep inside, but she knew that he harmed her and her family enough. The policeman held Jonathan’s hands in the rear of his back, and walked on the way to the police car. Emma couldn’t let herself to keep an eye on him in the car.

The sirens still kept going on to scream deafeningly throughout the parking lot in close proximity to the motel. Finally at last, the car slowly left. Ryan and Emma got in the police car to arrive the station.
