Lasting Love (Chapter Fourteen)

Elizabeth’s father, Troy’s face turned into red. The wind blew his shiny, short hair over his face with his cold, hazel eyes, but he didn’t ever care. He was just standing on the porch. Tap! Tap! Tap! He stubbornly crossed his arms against his chest, and wondered why Elizabeth let the boy ride in her car!!! He didn’t like it at all!

Elizabeth still sat worriedly with Tyler in the car, whispering. “What am I going to do?” Her heart rushed quickly, and got lost in nowhere. She closed her eyes, trying to create an imagination to be all alone, but it didn’t work at all. Tyler finally answered, “All we have to face the problems, they will be solved soon or later. We can do it, babe.” Elizabeth silently sat in a passenger seat, and froze. He called me a babe? Nobody in my world calls me that name. Wow, he’s more different than other jerks! She thought shakily, as she moved her hand toward Tyler’s hand and squeaked it tight. “Okay, let’s do it together, but I know Dad is going to push you away when he gets mad. It will be okay soon or later.” She said frowningly, as she opened the door, and slowly got out of the car.

Troy silently stood on the porch beside Rebecca (Elizabeth’s mother) for few moments. The wind continued to wrap around them, and blew their hair over their faces many times, Although they didn’t care once again, because they were staring at Elizabeth and Tyler with their red face. “Why are you bringing that boy with you that you are not supposing to?” Troy yelled in a harsh tone, as he threw his arms in an air. Rebecca grabbed Troy’s right arm, rubbed his forearm, and whispered in a soft voice. “Just calm down, Troy. I can handle it.” She walked toward Elizabeth in calm face, but inside of her, she felt a great anger. “Why are you bringing him without my permission? Don’t tell me any lie.” Her eyes used to be sweet, honey eyes, but now they turned into cold, stone eyes. Elizabeth could see her inside her anger, feeling a great fear to speak back. Rebecca walked closer and closer Elizabeth, and whispered, “You are in big trouble.” Elizabeth stood straightly up, and responded back in almost sharp tone, “Mom, this is Tyler. He is our neighbor, so just be nice. That’s why I brought him here, but this is not the reasons why I am telling you yet.” Rebecca turned her head slowly at Tyler and said, “I am sorry if my manner is not here. My name is Rebecca Taylor, and you know I am her mom.” She threw her hand out, waiting for Tyler’s hand to shake her hand, “Nice to meet you, Tyler.” Tyler nodded, shaking her hand. “Nice to meet you too, Mrs. Taylor.”

Troy yelled in a furious tone, as he threw his arms in an air, “What is wrong with you? Elizabeth is in big trouble!!!” Rebecca ran to Troy, rubbed his chest, and said. “Don’t! She have enough bad day today. Remember what her principal, Mr. McCartney called us on the phone about today? Just calm down!”

Elizabeth stood beside Tyler, and frowned into the tears. “Mom! Dad! Stop giving me another pressure! I am sick and tired of you are overwhelmingly protecting me! Look at me…” She blurted out crying, “I am fine! Everything was fine since Ethan told you everything! Don’t you see?” She buried her face in her palms, and Tyler pulled her against his chest, crying in many tears with her waterproof mascara. Elizabeth gently pushed him away, and walked to Rebecca and Troy. “Mom…Dad…why cannot you allow me to have a boyfriend or male friend? I don’t have a lot of friends. Of course, I only have few friends. But can’t you see what I am having deep inside me? Another pain…” Elizabeth broke her voice apart, trying to not crying anymore. Although she let her tears slip down her cheeks and tried to speak up. She continued to talk, as she walked backward to her 2008 silver corolla car. “I can’t take another pain anymore inside me. Everyday, I am always smiling outside, but you never realize how much I am dying inside.”

Tyler almost cried over Elizabeth’s words in a tear, but he tried to not for her. Elizabeth couldn’t take another pain anymore. Tyler muttered softly, “Do you want to leave here, Liz? Will you let me drive?” Elizabeth walked backward to her driver side, and nodded in a tears with a beautiful, sad face. She opened the door, got on the driver seat, and started an engine. Tyler joined too. She drove backward off her driveway, and said in break voice. “I am sorry for causing this trouble. I need to go to somewhere, and I want to show you my hidden place where I can calm myself down. Can you trust me? You cannot tell anyone about my hidden place.” She left her house with Tyler in the vehicle.
