Chapter 13

 

“I can really go for another In and Out Burger.” I stated, as we were getting back on the road, heading back to the hotel.

 

“Yeah, now you tell me once we pull out of the parking lot.” Travis replied.

 

“Well, they were just so good. How could anyone just eat one? God, if I wouldn’t look like such a pig I would have gotten more than one.” I laughed.

 

“They are pretty good.” Jesse said.

 

“Isn’t there one close to our hotel?” Tanner asked.

 

“I don’t think so.” I retorted. “It doesn’t matter anyway.”

 

All I could think about the whole way back to the hotel was how we were going to practice before the concert. It’s was going to be nuts! I mean we were unsure if we were even going to be able to practice because of being in a strict hotel. Our concert was on Friday, so we had two days to practice and it wasn’t going to be much of a practice once we get back.

As we paced in the hotel Tanner walked up to the front desk and started talking to the lady at the computer.

 

“Tanner, what are you doing?” I asked, eagerly.

 

He didn’t respond. At first, I wasn’t quite sure if he was picking up this woman or he was just trying to piss everyone else off more. I noticed he was talking to her like he knew her and that made me feel uneasy. I had no idea what he was talking to her about.

 

“Oh my gosh, are you serious?” the young woman squealed.

 

She strolled out from behind the counter and went to go get her manager. Now, I was really confused.

 

“Dude? What did you say?” Jesse asked.

 

“You’ll see.” He smirked.

 

What now? I thought. What’s going on? What’s Tanner hiding from me?  A fat bald guy, (I’m serious when I say fat and bald. I’m so mean ain’t I?), approached us with the lady that Tanner was talking to by his side. She whispered something in his ear and then turned back around.

 

“So, you three are the Distant Dreamers, huh?” the man said calmly. Travis, Jesse, and I just looked at each other.

 

“Yeah?” I replied.

 

“Well, your friend over there told us that you need a place to practice I hear. Luckily, we don’t have any events going on this evening, so I was curious if you three wanted to come down in our theater to practice?” he stated.

 

My eyes lit up. I looked over at Tanner, as he was grinning away over there, standing in front of the desk. I was just so relieved that he would do such a thing for us. It was really surprising to me, but more so to Travis and Jesse.

 

“Um-” Jesse and I said at the same time, looking over at Travis, with the look on his face like, ‘Why are you looking at me?’

 

“Yeah, that would be great,” Travis insisted.

 

“All right!” the man said. “By the way, my name is Dave if you have any questions. I’m the hotels manager. When you are ready to practice, just come to the front desk and tell Gigi over here to contact me, ok?” He nodded and turned the other way, walking in the opposite direction.

 

“Thank you sir!” Jesse replied.

 

“Don’t thank me, thank your friend.” Dave shouted.

 

We stared over at Tanner. I was probably the most excited, as the brothers were in shock that he would do such a thing. I ran over Tanner, quickly, giving him the biggest hug I have ever given to anyone.

 

“Tanner, you are a life saver.” I smiled.

 

“Anything for you,” he retorted.

 

“Aww… you’re the best!” I persisted, pulling him away looking into his eyes as he softly held onto my hand.

 

“You better get ready quick. You guys don’t have a whole lot of time to practice.” He affirmed. Before I could say anything, he said, “I’ll be waiting for you over at the tiger, ok?”

 

I gave him a peck on lips, a bit longer than usual, but he just made me so happy then. “Love you.”

 

“I’ll always love you.” He utterly smiled.

 

I raced up the stairs as fast as I could. Travis and Jesse already got a head start. I couldn’t help myself; I was so overwhelmed. Luckily, I had a key in my pocket, so I used it to open the door. Once I let in creak, there Jesse and Travis stood in the middle of the room, with serious looks on their faces. I knew it wasn’t going to be good.

 

“Kay, we need to talk.” Travis exclaimed.
