Don't Happen Twice (Part 6)

Authors Comments: Sorry for the wait. I'll try and post a chapter of something tomorrow. But I really want people to check out my friend, http://testriffic.com/user/rosiegirl24, latest story called "Keep Holding On" and maybe a few of her other stuff. If so, both me and her would be jumping with joy! lol

I'm not really sure where I left off last, but I'll tell you that my first school dance that I've ever been to, wasn't all that bad. I always thought that school dances were nothing but a waste of time, or only for the popular kids. Well, that's where I was wrong. I'm sorry to say this, but ever some of the losers went to that dance. It was shocking and stunning all in one.

I'm sorry I'm jumping all around, but I can't really think of it all in order, but let's get the ball rolling!

So I was in 8th grade, ok and it was the Christmas Dance, a year after the one where I spread the rumor about Devin and I going together. Anyway, Miranda asked me if I wanted to go and my mom actually made me go. It kind of pissed me off for her to just force me to do something I didn't want to, but I gave in.

It was like a black and white dance or something, but all I know is that I was wearing a black dress, which happened to be my mom's at one point. My mom pinned in up in the back because it was a little big on me. And when I was showing off to my friends my cool moves, the pinned up part of the dress snapped.

Holy shit! I thought. What the hell am I going to do now?

I rushed in the bathroom, where I saw an old friend of mine, Kacey, who didn't realize it was me at first, because I had so much make-up on than I normally did when I was still at the school.

"Oh my god! Hi Kayla! Is that you?" Kacey yelled, as two of her other friends, Kaleena and Courtney, just looked at me, staring me down with hate. I hated them twice as much. They are nothing be skanky slut anyhow.

I just smiled, as the walked out of the bathroom. I managed to pin my dress back up in less than five minutes.

When I walked out, Miranda, Brineigh, and Kristen, another friend of mine, came over at me, randomly asking me who I liked. I wasn't really sure who to say. I still liked Cody, but I felt like I liked Devin more. It was all so uncertain.

I told them both of them. And Brineigh kept fibbing to me all night that Cody was there. Cody wasn't there, but Devin was. And she said that Devin wanted to dance with me.

First off, I know Devin. Devin would never in his life go out of his way to ask me out or ask me to dance for that matter. Devin can be shy at time, but 90% of the time, he's a clown. Completely hilarious. So, I knew for a fact that she was lying about that.

Her and Kristen also were saying that they told Devin that I wanted to dance with him, and that just made me nervous all night, because I wasn't really sure if I was to believe them or not. Miranda and I just stayed at the snack table for awhile.

When there was at least a half an hour left of the dance, I happened to walk past Devin and Brineigh had to use her big mouth to say something to Devin.

"Hey Devin!" Brineigh shouted, which I would doubt that a lot of people heard her. "Do you remember Kayla?" She pointed right at me.

It took him a while, but he managed to spit out a "yeah." I knew I was different with all the make-up, plus I was in a dress. I never wore dresses or skirts, or really anything the spectacular to school when he'd see me. So, it surprised me that he even recognized me at all.

"Would you dance with her?" she replied.

"Let me think about that... no." he responded.

Really, I wasn't all that surprised about that. It didn't even make me shed tears. I knew he was going to say that. It would have put me though shock if he would have said something other than that. I probably would have passed out before anyone could say anymore.

All my friends felt bad for me, but I didn't mind it that much at all. Even though, there was sometimes I thought he was flirting with me, I knew that he wasn't going to ask me out. He just wasn't the type to do that. I probably had to be the one to ask him, and if you know me enough, you'd know that I wouldn't.

Devin is still in my heart somewhere, even for turning me down at the dance, but he isn't that important to me than Cody is, and I know that's most likely getting annoying to all of you, but it's true.

In the next part of my diary, I'm going to get off the subject about all of these dances, and talk about something a little bit out of my life. About someone who I thought was my friend, actually was just trying to force me to do something, I didn't want to do.
