Chapter 10
I grew concerned and helpless, but I noticed Jesse shoved Tanner off of him, and then Jesse started beating the crap out of him.
“What the hell?” Travis abruptly walked in. “Jesse, what the fuck are you doing?” he yelled, hastening in the room yanking Jesse off of Tanner, but that didn’t stop Tanner. When Travis heaved him away Tanner got up off the ground and bolted after Jesse again.
“God, can you two just stop it.” I shouted, as I got hit in the face by someone’s fist. I still don’t know who it was. I was knocked down on the floor. Everyone stopped dead. I put my hand up to face. My nose was bleeding. Travis rushed over to my side.
“Kay, are you alright?” he asked, looking down at the blood running down my face. “Cause you might want someone to check that out.”
“I’m fine.” I sneered, even thought I didn’t want to sound like a bitch, I did anyway. Travis helped me up off the ground. I felt a little dizzy went I got up, but I was just so pissed off, I didn’t care. “What the hell is your problem?” I yelled at Tanner and sort of at Jesse too. “You two were acting like five year-olds.”
Neither one of them looked like they were hurt that bad, which was a good thing, but I was still furious. “I’m sorry, Kay. I didn’t know. I thought he was going to hurt you.” Tanner stated.
“Well, when I tell you something you should listen to me first before you start beating innocent people up.” I sighed, as Travis handed me a tissue. “Thank you,” I said to him, as I dabbed my nose a few times. “I’m out of here, until you guys settle it out.”
I marched out of the room and out the door. I knew that everyone was just shocked and stunned, right before I walked out that door, but it was like a mad house in there and there was no way I was going to stay there any longer.
By the time I got down stairs in the lobby of the hotel, my nose stopped bleeding. The tissue looked disgusting; I had to throw it away immediately. I decided just to hang around in the game room. It was small and no one was in it. I was in there playing a few games when I was startled by Jesse. I rolled my eyes. Couldn’t he just leave me alone?
“Guess I scared you?” he chuckled, as he saw me jump.
“What are you doing here?” I replied, not looking in his direction. I was too busy playing Pac Man. “How did you get away without Tanner or Travis stopping you?”
“Well, I just wanted to make sure you were ok. I mean that nose-bleed looked pretty severe. I also just wanted to say that I was sorry about the whole thing with me and Tanner. I don’t know want you to get mad at me for it. Plus, Tanner and Travis went to bed. So, I snuck out.” He smiled.
“I’m not mad, I’m just disappointed that you fought back. I mean, I wish I would have had the nerve to help you and stop Tanner, but I just…” I sighed.
“Really, it’s fine. I don’t care, but I had to fight back if I wanted him to stop.”
“Fighting back won’t get you anywhere.” I told him.
Jesse paused. “I didn’t want to look like I was helpless. I could take care of my own actions, just like what you said.”
“Do you always listen to what I say?” I hissed.
“Why wouldn’t I?” he retorted. I glanced over at him in disbelief. “Kay, you are really the only true friend I’ve ever had, next to my brother. We were there for each other, no matter what. Of course I am going to listen to what you have to say. That’s what friends do.”
I stared down at the ground. Hastily, I realize I was still in the middle of the game, but by the time I was starting to play it again, it bleeped, meaning that the ghost got me and the game was over.
“CRAP!” I yelled.
Jesse laughed. “Hey Kay…”
I didn’t say anything, but immediately turned around. And out of no where he comes up to me and presses his lips against mine. Whoa! Let’s just say it was one of the most unexpecting things that have happened to me. His right hand was placed on the side of my face, as mine were just down at my side. It was like a two minute kiss before I realized that it was totally wrong to be kissing him when I have a boyfriend. I pushed him away, slowly but roughly.
“Jesse, what do you think you were doing?” I whispered.
His eyes widened. “God, I’m sorry. I don’t know what I was thinking. Umm… one question though.”
“What is it?” I replied, still angry about what I presently did.
“We are planning on keeping this a secret though, right?”
I hesitated. “Of course I’m going to keep it a secret, but that doesn’t make it right you know. This was totally uncalled for. But between you and me, it never happened ok?”
“You got a deal.” He answered.
Even though it was so wrong, it felt so right. I felt like an idiot acting kind of rude to him, but I didn’t want him to know that I actually liked it.
