Chapter 8

“We’re here!” Travis shouted.

I looked out my window. Bright neon light from big casinos shined in my eyes. I let out a ‘wow,’ but only in a whisper. I’ve never been out of my home state of Missouri and this was probably the most amazing place I’ve ever been to.

“It’s awesome I know. Jesse and I were here thousands of times when we were younger. To me it’s kind of boring unless you come here at night, like now.” Travis replied to my wowing expression.

“You heard me?” I asked.

“Well, I have good ears you know. I doubt Tanner up here didn’t hear you.” He retorted.

“What?” Tanner said. We both laughed even Jesse. “Shouldn’t we go get a hotel or something? Or was your producer dude going to save a place for you?” Tanner wondered.

“We’re staying at Mirage. That’s what John had said before,” Jesse stated. (John Fillmore is the producer.) “Speaking of the hotel, there it is.” Jesse pointed at the very tall building. The word Mirage was in many pretty colors. It looked even cooler inside. Since the bag boy, (so I call them,) took our luggage up to floor eight out of twenty-something, I explored the hotel. (Note: I’ve been there, but never actually stayed in the place, so it’s going to be made up, but something’s are true.)

It was huge and very luxurious. There was a live white tiger behind a glass wall. I wasn’t really sure why they had it, but it was gorgeous. I adored any type of big cats.

“Awe… look at the tiger. Isn’t it so adorable?” I squealed.

“Kay, are you still obsessed over those things. They could attack you, yet you still think their cute?” Travis chuckled. “It’s not like it’s a kitten.”

“Gee, sorry I’m so fascinated.” I stated, sounding sarcastic.

We paced passed the tiger and down the hall with red and white-speckled carpet, golden-flowered wallpaper, and cute little lights at every door way that lead into each room. We went up the elevator to the eighth floor and then went to room 8670. Can we say hella huge? I mean God; it was bigger than the other hotel we stayed at. It had the same red and white-speckled carpet as it did in the hallway. A gigantic king size bed in the back of the in a separate room and there were two double size beds in the front of the room. Also, they had a big bathroom, but it wasn’t really big enough for the four of us I suppose.

“Here are your bags Miss,” the boy who brought all our bags up on a cart.

“Thanks,” I murmured.

Jesse and Travis let me and Tanner have the king size bed, but I never really gave thought was my parents would kill me if they found out I was sleeping with them, but what they don’t know won’t hurt them.

It was around midnight and we were all sitting around the couch watching TV.  I was lying on the couch next to Tanner who had his arms wrapped around me. Occasionally, Jesse and Travis would look over at us, either jealous or curious.

“Kay, can I talk to you for a minute?” Travis asked. The look on his face was certain, meaning he needed to talk to me badly, but he was never that type. It was always Jesse.

“Yeah sure, no problem.” I stated, getting up off the couch.

As I walked out of the living room, both Jesse and Tanner were staring Travis and I down as we walked out to the balcony. It was a lot higher than the hotel we were at before. Travis closed the sliding door behind us. I stood there close to the doors, only because I felt like I was just going to fall through the openings in the railing or trip and fall. Anything can happen right. Travis paced over to the railing and sat on them with his feet hanging inside, not dangling out in the open. I thought he was crazy.

“Travis what are you doing?” I stated. “You might fall.” He pretended he was falling by letting go of the railing, but grabbing them again. “Travis!” He just chuckled, but I didn’t think it was funny in the least bit. “That wasn’t funny.”

“Sorry, I thought you knew I was more of the daredevil compared to Jesse? I mean he is too, but I’ll go for anything.” He smirked.

I shook my head. “I know, but can I ask why you bought me out here besides scaring me to death?”

“I still wanna talk about Tanner,” he started but was cut off by me.

“Travis, just stop it! I don’t care what you or Jesse think of him. I somehow trust him. At times he’s rude, but you two aren’t much better, especially you Travis. You are probably even worse than him. At least, Tanner doesn’t scare me to death like you just did.”

“Whoa! Ok, I maybe a daring, but I am not worse than Tanner. How do you know he wasn’t sleeping with another woman? For that matter, he could have been with a man?” he shouted over me.

“Travis?” I moaned.

“What?” he questions.

“Please, if you are going to keep terrorizing me about how bad Tanner is, just let it go. Like I said before, I’m old enough to take care of my own actions, you don’t have to come and protect me like your some super hero.” I explained.

“Kay, wait.” He hollered, as he scratched the back of his head. I turned around slowly. “I’m sorry. Is there anything I can do to know that I really mean that?”

“It’s fine, really. I just need a hug.” I smiled.

“Well, that I can do.” He replied and wrapped his arms around me and brought me close into a teddy bear hug.

I don’t even know why I wanted him to hug me; maybe because it felt comforting, but one thing that I didn’t know as we were hugging, that there was someone watching us from inside, but didn’t know that it was Jesse the whole time till I saw him running away from the door.
