Chapter 26

"Can I ask what all that was about?" Jason questions.

"Well, all I can say is that they lied to me all this time, saying that they were my real parents." I snob.

"God Rose, you don't have to act like a total bitch about it. I mean you sounded so rude in front of your little brother... Oh wait, I mean your cousin, and he had to hear stuff that he probably didn't want to hear. He may still love you, but you don't need act all snobby about it." he explains.

"Well gee, Jason I don't think that you've been through the same thing that I have. Both my parents died and I didn't even know that I was actually living with my aunt and uncle." I retort.

"Well, maybe you forgot that I lost my mom when I was younger. Remember me telling you about that when we first met?" I shut up and let him speak. "Rose, I've missed my mother for years and it still hurts me. Since my dad is still his abusive self, my step-mom and Kendra have to deal with all this pain and misery every freakin day. I know that's a little different then what you went through, but I lost my mother too and my dad is nothing but a bastard. So if you want me to stay with you and help you get through this, then knock off the yelling and being a total bitch about all this. Yes, I know you are stressed out way too much, but until you calm yourself down, I'll be waiting out in the waiting room with your aunt and uncle." he exclaims.

Jason pushes himself off the chair beside me and walks out the door without even looking back. As he strolls out, I grab the vase of flowers next to me on the end table and chuck it against the wall in front of the door. I felt like someone stabbed me in the chest as I did so.

Jason was right. I was acting all sassy about this, but it was really unexpecting to be coming out of his mouth. I never really heard him swear before or have a major temper.

I let out a few tears and look down at the ground. Why? Why am I acting like this? I shouldn't be, but how can I control myself not to act like that? Now that I'm probably not part of Jason right now, I'm just going to try and work this out on my own I assume.
