I Wonder *21*Authors Comments: OK, there is a new character in this part and probably the only time you'll here about her. If you don't know who she is, refer back to the first story "Trying' to Stop Your Leaving'." She wasn't mentioned a whole lot in the story though. RRC please; Thanks!

Chapter 21
I don't know how far I drove until I reach a coffee shop outside of Lincoln. I must have went a few miles more than I had expected. It was early in the morning and I was tired as hell. I need some thing to wake me up.
I guess I can hang around here for now. I said to myself, as I start getting out of my car.
I lock the car doors and walk inside. I stand up at the cashier and order a hot chocolate cause I'm not a big fan of coffee.
"$4.42 please," said the woman behind the counter, who looks majorly disagreeable. Someone didn't have their coffee this morning.
As I'm standing there, waiting for my hot chocolate, I feel like someone is staring me down. I'm not sure if that is a good thing or not though. For all I know it could be Caleb. I grab my hot scalding hot chocolate at sat down a booth, by myself. A lady about my parents age, looking down at her newspaper and back up at me. It was very intriguing.
"I don't mean to sound rude in any way, but do I know you? You keep looking over at me like we've known each other forever." I ask her.
She notices I'm very angered. "I'm sorry it's just that I believe I know your parents, Ryan and Brittany." she says.
"How do you know them?" I question, motioning her that she can sit in the seat in front of me; and she did.
"I was good friends with your mother." she began. "But you know they aren't your biological parents, don't you?"
I look at her and laugh. "What are you talking about? Are we mentioning the same parents because my parents would lie right to my face."
"I'm serious. My names Melody Grey. If you told your parents about me, they would know who you mean. Your real parents are Karrie and Caleb Evans. Your father died saving your real mother from getting hit by a car and your mother passed away having you. Your parents were the couple that everyone wanted to be. They were meant to be together. There love life was like some romance novel. Rose, they are your biological parents. Ryan and Brittany are your Aunt and Uncle."
I could believe what this woman was talking about. Was she really talking about the same people as I was? Is that ghost, Caleb, my father?
"But if this is true, how come my parents never told me?" I wonder.
"Protection, they are only protecting you for your own good. There are a ton of bad people out there that were after your family in the past before you were born. I sense that they'll be coming back soon. It has to do a lot of why you moved here from New York City." Melody explains.
I didn't say anything as I let her continue.
"I'm already saying enough as it is. Ryan and Brittany are the ones that should be telling you, not me. I blab my mouth off a little more than I should. I best be on my way."
"Wait," I shout, as she looks back at me. "Will I ever see you again?"
Melody smiles. "I hope so; you seem like such a sweet girl. Ryan and Brittany sure taught you well." And like that she walks out of the coffee shop, minding her own business.
How? How could I be, adopted? I don't think protection like what Melody said has anything to do with this. Why? Why wouldn't they have told me this sooner? It breaks my heart inside. Maybe what Caleb was saying before is true, that we are related. He's my father.
I've gotta head back home and get to the bottom of this, even though I'm so beat. I have got to find out why they aren't telling me any of this.
