Teardrops on My Guitar

Chapter 1 On my way to the best place in town, I get a call from one of my band mates. Our band’s called “Distant Dreamers” and we are working on our current single, “Help Me Believe.” To me it’s a pretty cool song. Out of the three of us in a band and I’m the only girl. The other two, Travis and Jesse are brothers. “Yeah Jesse,” I said, picking up the phone. “Hey when are you going to get meet us at the Freeze and Frizz?” he questions to me. Freeze and Frizz is a quick place we stop at when we need to talk about something huge. Normally, we stop there after a big day just to grab a bite to eat. “I’ll be there in any minute. Calm down will ya?” I laughed. “Ok, ok. I was just making sure you were coming and not taking the time to look good.” He chuckled. “I’m pulling into the parking lot right now. I’ll meet you inside.” I replied. He hung up the phone, so I did the same. Being in the same band as them isn’t easy. They get really annoying. I get out of my car, closing the door behind me and I went inside to go find Jesse and Travis. As the bell above the door rang as I came in, the manager, Joliet came over to me. “Well, hello darlin’! The boys are over a booth seven. Go to the right and they are and they are the last table on the end.” She explained. She knows our band pretty well, because we are always come here. The entire town knows us well too. We aren’t a very big band yet, but close enough. I paced over to them and Travis saw me coming and he let Jesse know. “I’m here,” I said. “It’s about time,” Travis chuckled. “Move over,” I told Jesse and he did. So I took a seat next to him, as Travis was sitting across from us. “So, when’s Mr. Hotshot coming?” I asked them, meaning our producer, John Fillmore. “He should be here any minute. Do you know why he wanted to see us?” Travis questioned. “Didn’t he want to talk about the new song?” I replied. “I guess I don’t know.” He said. “Sorry I’m late guys. I was having car trouble.” John interrupted. He pulled up a chair and sat at the end of the booth, (sitting on it backwards). Jesse turned his body facing him, putting on leg on the seat and his arm behind me, (not on me, resting against the back of the booth.) Travis propped his feet up on the booth, relaxing, as I sat in the same position from when I came in. “So what did you want to talk to us about?” I asked. “Ok well there is this big concert in Las Vegas next week and I recently talk to the head honcho of it all. He heard about you three and said about how good you were, so he wants you guys to go out and play in front of thousands.” John explained. “I’m ok with it as long as everyone else is,” Travis said. “I’m up for it,” I smiled. “Count me in,” Jesse replied. “Alright then it’s settled. I won’t be able to make it till the day of. Can you three get there by yourselves?” John asked, meaning that we couldn’t take a plane or bus with anyone else but the three of us. “We’re old enough too,” I laughed. “Ok then I’ll meet you in Las Vegas, next Friday.” I said, getting up from his seat and putting it back at the table he got it from. “See ya John,” the three of us said in harmony, as he walked away from our table and over to Joliet, talking to for a bit. “Just think, we’re going to be going to Las Vegas, Nevada in a few days.” Jesse said in amazement. “Yeah, but how are we going to get there?” Travis questioned. “Well by car for sure. We don’t have any money to be up in a plane. Besides, a road trip out west wouldn’t be too bad now would it?” I suggested. “True, but the gas prices are outrageous now these days.” Travis replied. “We can take my car.” Jesse offered. “It may be old, but it gets like 30 miles to the gallon.” “Can we all fit in it?” I asked. “Oh yeah I know we can all fit in it.” He smiled, moving out of the position that he was in and putting both his feet on the ground. “Well, then we should get packing. We’ll meet at my house tomorrow morning. Call me when you get up in the morning alright?” I stated. “Sounds like a plan.” Jesse smiled. Joliet came over to us and offered us a round of milkshakes on the house. We really didn’t want to, but Joliet wouldn’t take no for an answer. We sat at the table for about an hour until we were determined to leave. Travis and Jesse rode in Jesse’s truck and I hopped in my car. I was on my way home. On the way, I was thinking about how cool it would be to go on a road trip with Travis and Jesse. They are like my brother. We were best friends since grade school. We fight here and there but we always work it out some how. Plus we are going to be playing at a major concert in one of the biggest cities in the nation. How awesome is that?

But now I have it straight. :D
