Chapter 13
"Jason!" I hear Kyle yelling from across the building.
Jason's father, Dave, strolls away and gets back to work as I made eye contact with Kyle. He looks so pissed off everytime he looks over at me. I can't believe that Kendra could even stand being with him. Jason walks over to him rolling his eyes at the same time. I wonder what those to keep talking about?
"Rose?" a girly voice shot from behind me and once I turn around I saw Kendra's glowing face right before my eyes. She was wearing holey tight jeans and a tight-fit plaid shirt. Along with that she was wearing a straw cowboy hat on top of her wavy blonde hair.
"Well, you seem to be in country pride today." I laugh.
"I'm always like this, but never at schoo, I don't know why. Speaking of school, why aren't you there?" she asks.
"Jason and I were planning on playing hooky together." I reply.
"Whoah, whoah, whoah; wait a minute. Did you just say... together?" Kendra questions with surprisement.
I nod. "He knows that I like him now."
"So what did he say?" she insists and was dying for an answer. I could just tell by the look in her eyes.
"Really nothing. He wasn't that shocked because he was listening in to our conversation over the phone." I respond.
"Oh," she says, but when she said that, she seemed like she already knew that he was on the other line or something, but I didn't bother asking once Kyle and Jason walk over. Now Kyle had a smile on his face. Probably just because Kendra was there.
"Hey babe!" Kendra smirks and walks up to him leaning in for a kiss, as Kyle gave her a peck on the cheek. "I love you."
"I love you too," Kyle replies.
I roll my eyes when they weren't looking, but Jason caught me.
"What was that for?" Jason asks, nudging my arm with his elbow, as we watch Kendra and Kyle walking in the other direction, not even say good-bye or see ya later. Two love birds I suppose. I wish I would be that happy.
"Nothing I guess. It's just something about Kyle. He acts like he doesn't want to be nice to me cause I'm a city girl." I tell him.
"Kyle? No, he's not like that at all. I think he's just being an ass. He does that a lot around girls, except Kendra of course. I've tried to tell him to be nicer to you, but it won't happen I'm sure." Jason explains.
I shake my head. "I don't like him and I don't think you can change that."
"I won't make you be friends with someone if you don't want to. He has his own group of friends and so do you. Right now, you don't have a lot around here, but back home I'm sure you do." he insists.
"Yeah I guess you're right." I sigh.
"Hey, why don't we go horsebackriding for a bit?" He suggests.
"But I don't know how," I gasp.
"I'll teach you. Come on it'll be great." He smiles.
I grin with agreement. "Fine, I guess I could try it."
"Alright than, let's go!" I says, taking my hand.
When his hand wraps around mine I gasped, which made Jason look back at me. I was a little shocked when he did that. I never would have thought he'd hold my hand, yet I actually like it, a lot.
"What's wrong?" Jason questions.
I look up at him, blush, then smile. "Nothing, nothing at all."
