Chapter 5

The next day, I wake up, drowsy and more tired than ever. As I get ready and walk upstairs to my room, I notice Dad was helping mom with breakfast; Odd for me. I never saw them cook breakfast together.

“Mom, Dad I’m off to school.” I shouted over to them.

“Alright Hun, have fun!” mom smiles.

I rush out the front door and walk to school and on the way I feel someone staring down at me, but when I look around, there’s no one.

“Rose!” a male voice shouts to me and I knew it was Jason.

He came up to me as I stand in the middle of the sidewalk, staring down at it.

“What’s wrong with you today?” he asks.

“Nothing, I’m just tired.” I told him.

“Oh ok; you know you only live like two houses down the road from me. I never really gave it much though until I saw you walking up the street.” I said.

“Oh yeah? That’s cool.” I smile, beginning to walk again side by side. I try not to show much that I was overly excited. It was too good to be true.

“Maybe we could… uh never mind let’s just get to school on time.” He said. I agree and head off to school.

By the time we got there, it was time of my first class of the day; World Cultures. Yippee, Not!

“Good morning class today’s we’ll be focusing on Russia’s culture all week and you will be taking a major quiz on it, so pay close attention.” Miss. Eveline lectures.

I didn’t pay any close attention what so ever to her. World Cultures is probably one of the most boring classes in my life, because of our teacher. She’s in her late 50’s and she’s really a pain in the ass most of the time. Jason’s sitting next to me and I look over at him in the corner of my eye, but he didn’t see me.

I notice that he was staring over at me, biting his bottom lip. I look over at him, and then he stops what he’s doing and looks away.

“You make no sense,” I mumble to myself.

“What?” Jason said, since he must’ve overheard me saying something under my breath.

“Nothing, I’m just talking to myself. I’m good at that.” I laugh and so does Jason.

In that time when the Miss. Eveline left the room, since we were suppose to be taking notes, I hear muffled voices behind me. I know they’re talking about me and Jason, or maybe just me.

“That girl just isn’t normal,” a female voice said.

I stop and stare at the floor in front of me. I try not to over hear what she was saying, but it was hard not to. I look back at her. She grins at me and I take my eyes off her and turn around, but then see starts giggling which made things worse.

“Don’t worry about her. She’s the school's trashy whore anyways.” The girl beside me says.

“I never would have guessed.” I reply.

“I’m Kendra,” she smiles at me, holding her hand out in front of me to shake it.

“Rose,” I smile back, shaking her soft, silky, but pale hand.

“I love that name!” she said. “Do you mind if we eat lunch together today?” she offers.

“Yeah, that would be great.” I reply.

“Just so you know, my boyfriend, Kyle, will most likely be sitting with us.” She stated.

“That’s ok,” I told her.
