Chapter 8

~ Ashley's POV:

The next day at school, I was in homeroom when I saw Kenny had looked like he had been beaten to death. I really wasn't sure what happened, but I was going to get it out from him some how.

"Kenny what happened to you?" I asked, sitting at the desk in front of him.

"Just got in a fight before school is all." he replies.

"Does it have anything to do with what I thought I saw and heard last night, upstairs of your house?" I questioned.

He stared at me blankly. I knew there had to be some reason why he wasn't telling me though.

"Don't worry about it. So, I got a little shook up. No big deal. I have a few bruises, some cuts here and there. I'll be fine." he insisted, even though he didn't look like in any shape or form to be in school. It was really bad.

"You don't look alright. Are you sure you are not going to tell me what had happened? I really wanna know, but if you aren't going to tell me, so be it." I told him.

Kenny had a weird look on his face as he glances at me. I can see by the look in his eyes, he wanted to tell me, but inside, something was forcing him not to.

"Kenny, I'll admit something to you, if you tell me what happened." I said.

He looks up at me from his desk.

"Alright, but you go first." he replied.

"Ok," I smiled, but felt a little uncomfortable telling him what I really thought about him.

~ Kenny's POV:

I didn't want to tell Ashley's about the fight I was in with one of Hector's buddies. It was just so odd that Hector would do that, just so I wouldn't tell anyone. Now I look like I should be dead. I mean seriously, I look awful.

"Well..." Ashley started to say. I could tell that she really want to tell me, but couldn't find the words. "Kenny, I think we should be best friends again."

"I don't know about best friends. Friends maybe, but not best friends." I told her.

"There's something I also want to say, but I want to wait till after school to tell you." she replied.

"Why not now?" I asked.

"Just because... it's more of a secret than anything," Ashley said.

The bell had rung and it was time for 1st period.

"You are going to tell what happened this morning, after school, right? Once I tell you my last thing I want to tell you." she exclaimed.

I didn't want to, but I shook my head up and down and we both were out the door to our first class of the day.
