After returning the boy to his father and retrieving the Orange Omni Topaz of Knowledge, the 6 children returned to Phoenix to plan a strategy. "How do we find Will?" "How do we beat Shadow?" "What'll happen to Will if we kill Shadow?" "How do we find the other 2 Topazes?" These were all questions that were asked. Even after weeks of thinking, they hadn't come up with anything. Hopeless, they all went their separate ways. Kayla returned to Canada, Jane returned to her family, Serenity, Taylor and Tyler returned to the Geneton Base, and Erik became a sort of wanderer. He would go from place to place, desperately trying to find Will. Jane's father beat her more often, now, as punishment for running away. She was locked in her room and the windows were barred. One day, about a year later, she was sitting at her computer on Yahoo! and reading all the headlines. One headline particularly grabbed her attention: BLACK CREATURE TERRORIZES EUROPE. Intrigued, she clicked on the link and read the article. 'A completely black, anthropomorphic creature has been terrorizing many places in Europe, including Spain, France, England, and many others. We are unsure of its origins, but many religious groups believe it to be the anti Christ and are calling this the end of days. The creature has destroyed several cities, including Paris, London, and Rome. Several deaths have been reported, including the Pope.' 'Those who have seen it up close and lived say that it has long, claws, sharp as Ginsu Knives. They claim that these claws are approximately 12 inches long. People have also claimed that it's hair style resembles that of a Sonic the Hedgehog character, but that is yet to be proved true or false. Others claim that 6 black stones orbit him, but this is also yet to be proven.' 'What we do know is that this creature sounds a bit like a snake. It often warns us of the end of the universe and that we should attempt to enjoy the remaining days of our lives. Whether Universal Armageddon is afoot or not, the danger still exists. It's most recent attack was not in Europe, but rather in the city of Phoenix, AZ.' And so on and so forth. "Oh Will... how could ya?" She asked, tears pouring down her face. She shut off the computer and flopped herself onto her bed. "Why? Why? WHY?!? Why'd I 'ave ta fall fer a monster?!?" She asked herself. Suddenly, she heard tapping on her window. She looked up and saw a little spark attempting to get in. Erik. Jane slowly got up and slid the window up for him. He flew to the center of the room and became himself. "Hey, Jane." He said. "Howdy." She replied, wiping tears from her face. "Did ya'll hear 'bout the attacks on Europe?" She asked. "What attacks?" Erik asked. "Shadow. It's on Yahoo. Shadow attacked Europe and Phoenix." Jane answered. "Really? Wow, my timing was perfect. I just came over because I couldn't stand to be alone any more. C'mon, let's get the others!" Erik exclaimed. "I can't leave! Mah window's barred and mah door's locked from the outside." Jane replied. Erik took her hand and turned them both into sparks. "Oh, right." She said. The 2 flew out the window and zipped to Phoenix. When they arrived, Phoenix was in ruins. Buildings were collapsing, dead trees were every where, and not a single car was on the road. "Wow..." Erik muttered. Jane cried again, seeing as this was Will's doing. "Hey, it'll be all right. Remember, it isn't Will. It's Shadow." Erik said, trying to cheer her up. "I know, it's just, he let it out." Jane replied. "Shadow is more powerful than any human can hope to contain. That necklace was all that kept Shadow in, and when 824 removed it, well, you know what happened next." Erik explained. "Ya, I know, but it's still part o 'im." Jane said. "Not necessarily. You know of the Ozadians, correct?" Erik asked. Jane nodded. "Well, of the 12 Ozadians, there are 4 leaders, one of which is Will. All 4 of them carry the burden of Shadow within them. It's not part of them, it just lives in them." Erik told her. She said nothing. "Just promise me that, if we save Will from Shadow, that you'll take him back." Erik said. "I dunno if I can..." She said. "Please. He NEEDS you. You're the only person on this planet that he loves. His family is dead. He has no one, but you. So please, take him back." Erik pleaded. "Why da ya'll care?" Jane asked. "He's my best friend. That's why." Erik answered. "Well, I'll think about it." Jane said. "Thanks." Erik replied. The 2 headed for the Geneton Base. "Ya know what I jus realized?" Jane asked. "What?" Erik asked. "Ya'll haven't grown an inch since we last saw each other." She said, chuckling to herself. Erik mumbled something and said, "The doctor says that because of some birth defect, I've reached my maximum height already." Jane fell over laughing. "Ya'll aren't serious, are ya?!?" She squealed. "Yes... I am." He murmured. "I'm serry, but that's jus too dern funny!" She exclaimed as she got up. "No it's not! How am I supposed to find a woman if I'm only 4 FEET 7 INCHES TALL?!?" Erik asked. "Awwww... ya'll will find someone eventually!" Jane exclaimed, and they continued walking. Finally, they found the manhole lid that hid the Geneton Base. They knocked, the lid slid away, and they crawled down the ladder and into the sewers. "Yuck... sure wish Serenity was here." Erik grumbled, plugging his nose. "Ya..." Jane said, doing the same. After a few minutes, they came across the door way that lead to the Geneton base. The door had been knocked aside. In the base were thousands of Genetons, most of which were dead. Slaughtered. There were a few survivors, including Taylor, Tyler, and Serenity. Lucas was in a wheel chair, and Johnny had crutches. A few other Genetons were walking around, all bandaged somewhere. Most of them were crying. "What happened here?" Erik asked. Taylor, Tyler, and Serenity walked up to them. "Shadow came. He... he stole the Topaz." Taylor said, hanging his head low. He had been responsible for the Topaz of Knowledge. "That ain't good, ya'll. That means he’s got all 7! I read on Yahoo that, before he came over yonder, he 'ad 6 o' them." Jane said. "Holy..." Tyler said, "Shit." Taylor finished. "Should we get Kayla? We could use all the fire power we can get. No pun intended." Serenity said. "What do you mean, 'we'? You aren't coming, Serenity." Erik said. "Awwww... why not?!?" She asked. "Because, you'll get hurt. You're only a scentoid!" Erik exclaimed. "That all? Just to let you know, my powers have developed since last time. Remember how I was able to hear the GHA general from miles away? That's developed, as has one other power." Serenity said. "What can you do?" Erik asked. She walked over to a wall, punched it, and smiled. There was now a hole in the wall the size of a basket ball. "Niiiiiiiiice." Erik said. (Quick note from the writer: I just did that because she was otherwise completely useless but I didn't want to cut her out of the story! :D) And so the 5 of them joined hands, became sparks with Erik, and they flew off to Canada to get Kayla. After explaining what happened, she joined them and then they flew across the Atlantic to Europe. They landed in London, which was in a worse condition then even Phoenix. Decomposing bodies and totaled cars littered the ground, there wasn't a single sign of anything alive at all. The buildings were non existent. Big Ben was a smoking pile of rubble. Everything was destroyed. "Why'd you bring us here? Shadow wouldn't be here! He's already destroyed it! What's left to destroy?" Kayla asked. "I dunno... It's just... we're both Ozadians. I can sort of... sense him." Erik said. "Okay, now you're just being weeeeeird." Kayla said. "Hey guys! I hear something!" Serenity exclaimed. "What?" They all asked in unison. "There's some one out there! Some one's still alive!" Serenity exclaimed. "Shadow?" Erik asked. "No, they sound like they're in pain. Groaning and moaning and overall miserable." Serenity said. "Thems might be in trouble! C'mon, ya'll!" Jane exclaimed. Serenity followed the miserable voice and the others followed. "Hey, Erik, you know what I just realized?" Tyler asked. "What?" Erik asked. "You haven't grown at all since last time!" Tyler exclaimed. Everyone accept Erik burst out laughing. They all agreed, and then Erik explained his birth defect, which made them laugh even more. After an hour, they came across a single building, still standing. "In here." Serenity said. She opened the door, and they all gasped at who it was. "Will!" Jane exclaimed. He was chained to the wall by his wrists and ankles. "Guys... no..." He muttered. Taylor and Tyler cut the chains. "It's... a trap..." Will muttered. "Huh?" Everyone asked. Suddenly, the door slammed shut. "Well well well, what a touching reunion!" Shadow said. He was at the door and had shut it with his foot. Erik, Jane, Taylor, Tyler, Kayla, and Serenity all got up and spun around to see the monster. "WHAT?!?" Erik asked. "Assssssss you can sssssssssssee, I no longer need thissssss fool. I've abssssssorbed enough power to have my own body!" Shadow exclaimed. "Guys... I'm sorry... This is... my fault." Will muttered. "Hand over the Topazes, Shadow!" Erik commanded. "Here, take them! They are usssssslessssss to me now." Shadow replied. He pulled 7 transparent stones out of nowhere and tossed them at Erik's feet. "I've abssssssorbed all their power. You can have them!" Shadow exclaimed. "So, who of you should die firssssssssst?" Shadow asked. He waved his hand, and they were suddenly completely motionless! "Let'ssssssss sssssssssssee... Oh yessssss, the sssssssslut. You die firssssssssst." Shadow said, referring to Serenity. He generated a ball of black energy and smashed it into her chest. She was slowly disintegrated from the chest outward. "And now for you 2." Shadow said, referring to Taylor and Tyler. He created 2 more balls of energy, smashed them into their chests, and disintegrated them as well. "You nexxxxxxt!" Shadow exclaimed, pointing to Kayla. Same result. "Now, Let’ssssssss sssssssssssee... I'll kill you now. The Short one." Shadow said, looking at Erik. After killing him, he looked at Jane. "Your turn." He said. She was disintegrated, too. Suddenly, a bright light filled the room. Shadow grunted and asked, "What'sssssssss going on?!?" The light grew brighter with each second that passed. Soon, it was too much for Shadow to bear and he had to leave the room. After a minute, the light faded and Shadow returned to the room. He gasped. Will was gone and had been replaced by a being that was entirely white. Shadow's opposite: Flash. "Oh, Flassssssssh, it's been ssssssoooo long ssssssincccccce we've met in the real world. 5 millennia I believe. How have you been?" Shadow asked. "Don't patronize me, Shadow." Flash said. He waved his hands, and the 6 of them that had been disintegrated were revived. "Impressssssssive! I never knew you could create life from nothing!" Shadow exclaimed, clapping his hands. "Did you know I could create death, too?" Flash asked. "I'd like to sssssssssssee you try! Go ahead. I've weakened mysssssself. One punch from you Issssss all it will take. Kill me. Kill me now. Or isssssss the wittle baby to afraid? Isssssss Flassssssssh afraid of hisssssss own ssssssshadow? Awwww... poor, sssssweet baby. Are you afraid to take life?" Shadow asked. Flash screamed and threw a punch... And hit the wall right next to Shadow. "That'ssssssss what I thought. You're far to compassssssssionate to draw blood! You're weak. You're a coward." Shadow insulted him. "Grrr... True. I am weak. I'm not willing to take life... but Will is." Flash replied. He turned and pointed to the Amethysts. Slowly, they regained their power. "You have enough power to do that?" Shadow asked. "More than enough." Flash answered. "Pity. All that power, completely wasssssssted on ssssssuch a coward." Shadow teased. Flash patted Erik on the shoulder, reanimating him. He then turned back into Will. "What are we gonna do, Will?" Erik asked. "Let's see... we've got 2 Ozadians, 7 Omni Topazes, and a super duper evil guy trying to destroy the universe. What do you think we're gonna do?" Will asked, grinning. "OH YEAH!" Erik exclaimed. "I won't let you!" Shadow exclaimed. "You don't have a say in that matter!" Will retorted as he generated an electric shield around him, Erik, and the Topazes. Shadow tried to punch through the barrier, but wasn't powerful enough. "Damn you!" Shadow exclaimed. Will and Erik tapped into the power of all 7 Topazes. With all 7 of them, the boys went beyond Super Form. This was ULTRA. Their hair glowed a brilliant shade of silver, and their eyes shined completely white! Light auras of red, yellow, and blue surrounded their bodies. "Humph! You actually thought you could defeat ME, just because you are a MONSTER?!?" Will asked. "Grrr... I'm ssssssending you 2 ssssstraight to HELL!" Shadow exclaimed, getting into a fighting position. "I think you've got that backwards!" Will retorted. "Enough talk! Shall we get going?" Erik asked. "ALL RIGHT!" Will exclaimed. The electric shield fell, and Will and Erik rocketed at Shadow faster than light. Next thing that Shadow knew, he was careening out the door and through the air. Will appeared behind him and kicked him high into the sky. Shadow stopped himself, rocketed downward into Will, and smashed him to the ground. He was about to throw a punch to Will's face, but then Erik head butted him away. Shadow fired billions upon trillions of little black marbles of energy at the 2 of them. Will and Erik were stunned a bit and sustained moderate damage, but they weren't dead yet. After the marbles ceased, Will and Erik generated 2 swords of suppressed electricity and flew towards Shadow with them. Shadow made 2 swords for himself and fended off their blows. It was attack, defend, counter attack, defend, attack again, etc. All sorts of strikes were thrown from stabs to vertical slices to horizontal to spinning strikes. Eventually, Shadow was able to knock both their swords away. Will and Erik quickly flew backwards and each fired a beam of electricity. The 2 beams forced Shadow's swords away. The 2 boys charged at Shadow, and Shadow charged them back. When they crashed, there was a small explosion, sending both parties flying. They all stopped themselves, flew towards one another, stopped, and threw hundreds of punches and kicks. Most were either blocked or dodged, but the strikes that did hit caused a lot of blood and bruises. Will grabbed Shadow by the neck and threw him to the ground. Erik teleported right beneath him and punched him back to Will. The boys continued to play a game of pong where Shadow was the ball for a few minutes. Finally, Shadow passed out and Erik let him hit the ground. "PWND!!!" Will and Erik both shouted in unison. Will lifted one arm towards Shadow. Slowly but surely, the creature began to vanish. After Shadow was completely gone, Will lifted both arms into the air. The necklace appeared and wrapped itself around his neck. "You're NEVER getting out of my head again." Will muttered. "Where is he?" Erik asked. "Back where he belongs: The pits of my mind." Will answered. "Isn't that a bit risky?" Erik asked. "No. He won't be tough enough to get out for years! And even then, I'll still have the necklace, so there's nothing to worry about!" Will exclaimed. Boy, was he wrong. Shadow wasn't the problem any more. The problem was one of the Topazes. To be more specific, the black Topaz. The Topaz of Sin. For the first few weeks, nothing was wrong. Will and Jane got back together and everyone was generally happy. But slowly, ever so slowly, the Topaz of Sin worked into their lives. The 7 of them began noticing every last single flaw the others had, and started petty arguments over them. They all started being jerks to each other in general, and soon, it was all they could do to not beat the living tar out of each other. Even the love that Will and Jane had slowly died and was replaced by bitterness and hate. Finally, they all went their separate ways. Even the twins left each other. None of them returned to their homes, they just got away from each other. Each of them took a Topaz with them. Will: Red. Taylor: Orange. Serenity: Black. Jane: Blue. Erik: Silver. Kayla: Green. Tyler: Yellow. They never spoke to each other again for 20 years.
