Electro Static: part 27
|
We continued flying for a couple more minutes. O: Okay, this is where we land. ; Finally. Carrying people isn’t as easy as it looks, ya know! ; Are you saying Jane is fat? ; What? NO! I’m just saying, my arms get tired easily, and I’ve been carrying her for nearly half the day. ; Suuuuuuuure. ; Shut up! It’s true! ; I know, but you’re so easily teased. I mumbled something somewhat rude about him under my breath. O: I heard that! ; Good. ; I am NOT a has-been! ; Suuuuuuuure, that’s why you aren’t the king of the ascended beings any more. ; If it were up to the other ascended beings, I would be! ; Sure Ozad, I believe you. ; Need I remind you that I can get in ANYONE’S head? ; Point? ; More specifically, JANE’S head? ; I still don’t get the point of this. ; AND that I can tell her that little comment you made about getting tired carrying her? ; I hate you right now. ; No, you just think you do. ; Grrr… Why do you hate me? ; I don’t.
I started my descent and motioned for Erik to do the same. We landed in the middle of the desert. “Why’d ya land us in the middle o’ nowhere?” Jane asked. “Ozad told me too.” I answered. “But there’s nothing here!” Erik exclaimed. “Uh, you can stop holding my hand now.” Kayla said. “Oh, sorry.” Erik said, pulling away from her and blushing. Kayla looked at Taylor. “What?” He asked. She growled at him. “Oh, right.” He said, and released her hand. Taylor, Tyler and Serenity let go of each other. “Look, smoke.” Serenity said as she pointed behind and above me. We all turned and saw smoke coming up from behind one of the dunes. “There’s no plant life here. It has to be a fire place.” Serenity continued. “Then let’s go see who’s living there!” I exclaimed, and tried to run up the dune. Unfortunately, the sand didn’t provide much traction and I ended up falling. I heard Jane giggle, and then she helped me to my feet. The 7 of us walked up the dune together, helping each other out whenever someone lost their footing.
When we got over the top, we saw a large hut with smoke coming out of its chimney. I slid down the dune, approached the hut, and knocked on the door. I was greeted by an African man who looked to be in his mid 40s. He looked like he was holding back a lot of grief. He said something I could never hope to comprehend. “Uh…” Was all I was able to say. “Ah, you are American, yes?” The man asked. I nodded. “Very well. How may I help you?” He asked. “My friends and I,” I began as I pointed to the others who were on the top of the dune. “Need a place to stay while we search for something. It’s vitally important.” I explained. He looked over me at the others and said, “You all look like some nice kids. You may stay here until you find what you seek.” I looked over at the others and motioned for them to come over. They all came down the dune and we followed the man into his hut.
“So, may I ask what it is you are searching for?” The man asked. “We’re looking for a stone. An orange stone that some know as the Omni Topaz of knowledge.” I answered. His look of grief suddenly turned into a look of shock. “By any chance, are any of you… special?” He asked. “Define special.” I replied. “Like… powerful.” He said. “Powerful? You mean…” I began to say. I generated a ball of electricity and asked, “Like this?” His look of shock turned into one of hope. He nodded. “Then yes, all 7 of us are special.” I answered. I looked over at Serenity and said, “Some of us more than others.” She stuck her tongue out at me. “Then, I may be able to help you in your search.” The man said. “Really?” We all asked in unison. “Yes.” He answered. “Great! Where is it?” Erik asked. “Wait, don’t be so hasty. Do not think I don’t want something in return.” The man said. “C’mon, old man! We need that stone!” Taylor exclaimed. “I know. You need it to defeat a man named Dazo. But, there is a price to pay for it.” The man said. “How much?” Kayla asked, pulling out her credit card. “I did not mean money.” He replied. “Wait, how do you know about Dazo?” I asked. “In a dream I had last night; a man named ‘Ozad’ came to me and told me of your arrival. He said that you would all be special, and that there would be 7 of you. He also told me of Dazo and of the Omni Topaz that you seek.” The man explained. “So, if you know how important it is, then why won’t you give it to us?” I asked. “Because, I am desperate. My son… has been kidnapped.” The man answered, his look of grief reappearing. “Well, in that case, we’d love to help out! Why didn’t you say so?” I asked. “So, do ya got any idea ‘bout where he is?” Jane asked. “All I know is that a man, part metal and part human, came and took him away. He told me that if I wanted to see him alive, I would go to South Africa with the Omni Topaz.” The man explained. “Could you be a bit more specific as to where in South Africa?” I asked. “I am sorry, but no. Please, you must help my son!” The man exclaimed. “No problem!” I exclaimed. “But first, can we have something to eat? I’m starving!” Serenity exclaimed. “Yeah, us too!” Taylor and Tyler exclaimed. “Of course you may.” The man answered, and walked into a kitchen.
The man fed us something that looked sort of like oat meal, but, unlike oat meal, it tasted good. It was kinda spicy and salty, with a pleasantly sweet after taste. Weird, yes, but still good. After eating our meal, we left the hut and said good bye. I generated my magnetic fields, wrapped my arms around Jane, and flew off. I was soon followed by 5 little sparks, which I knew were Erik, followed by Kayla, Taylor, Tyler, and Serenity. O: I hope you know what you are doing. ; Don’t worry, Ozad! Everything will be fine! ; I’m not so sure. ; You don’t trust that guy? ; It’s not that, it’s something else. Something’s bothering me. ; What? ; You know of Flash and Shadow, correct? ; Yeah. ; They are constantly fighting in your head. That is why, when you become angry, you don’t turn into Shadow. But, I get the feeling that this rescue might turn the tides in Shadow’s favor. ; Oh, come on, Ozad! Do you know how paranoid you sound? ; I realize, but I can’t help but feel nervous. ; Don’t worry, Ozad. I know what I’m doing. ; I sure hope so, for all your sakes.
After a few hours, we were flying over the bit of South Africa that was covered in forest. Suddenly, I heard Serenity exclaim, “We’ve gotta land!” I thought this a bit odd, but I landed. The other 5 landed a few feet away and turned back into their human forms. They all let go of each other and we all turned towards Serenity. “What is it?” I asked. “I heard something in the forest. It sounded like a voice.” She said. “Do you know how ridiculous that sounds?” I asked. “I know, I know, but you’ve gotta believe me!” She exclaimed. O: Serenity’s right. I sense something as well. “Okay Serenity. What was the voice like?” I asked. “You don’t actually believe her, do you?” Erik asked in shock. “Ozad says she’s right. That’s good enough for me.” I answered. “Thank you.” Serenity said. “Your welcome. Now, can you describe the voice?” I asked. “Cruel, demanding, angry, vicious…“ She began to say. “Okay, ya’ll can stop now!” Jane exclaimed. “What’s wrong?” Serenity asked. I wrapped my arms around Jane and asked, “Don’t you get it?” I remembered how cruel Jane’s father was. “Oh, right.” Serenity said, getting the hint. “I’m sorry.” She said, and gave Jane a hug. “Thanks. It’s awright.” Jane replied and returned the hug. “Which way, Serenity?” I asked. The girls pulled away from each other and Serenity pointed east. “That way, Will.” She answered. Then let’s go!” I exclaimed. We all got into our formations and ran off.
(3rd Person!)
“WHERE IS THE STONE?!?” The general of the GHA shouted. He was in a small hut in the middle of the forest with a boy, about 15 years old. He looked pretty beaten up. “I’ll n-n-never t-tell you!” The boy stammered. The General slapped him across the face. “Foolish child. I WILL get the stone, one way or the other. So you’d better cooperate, or this will go down rather badly for you.” The General threatened. “That st-st-stone is w-w-worth my l-l-life.” The child replied. “You would DIE for that stone?” The General asked. “Y-y-y-yes…” the child answered. The General punched the child in the stomach and once again asked for the stone. The child spit on his cybernetic chest. The general picked up a chunk of wood and knocked the child out with it.
(Will’s point of view!)
“Serenity, is the voice close?” I asked. “Yes, I can sort of make out what it’s saying. Something to do with a stone. And, I can also hear another voice, a young child by the sound of it.” Serenity answered. “We have to hurry. The child may be in danger.” She said. I kicked up my speed a bit.
After a few minutes, we came across a hut. I could hear voices now, too. The conversation went like this: “WHERE IS THE STONE?!?” “I’ll n-n-never t-tell you!” “Foolish child. I WILL get the stone, one way or the other. So you’d better cooperate, otherwise this will go down rather badly for you.” “That st-st-stone is w-worth my l-l-life.” I’d heard enough. I kicked the door down and saw the General! WTF?!? He’s supposed to be dead! His chest was now cybernetic. He had a piece of wood in his hand, and in front of him was an unconscious child on the floor. “Well well well, I guess you aren’t gonna give up, are you, General?” I asked. He spun around to look at the 7 of us. “Ah, I see you 7 have arrived at the party. Now, give me the Topazes you’ve collected!” The general commanded. “Over my dead body.” I retorted. “That can be arranged. 824!” The General exclaimed. A ferret… no, THE ferret jumped into the hut through an open window. “Yes, master?” It asked. “Get me the Topazes!” The General commanded. We all got prepared to fight, but then, time stood still.
The next thing I knew, the Ferret had all the Topazes surrounding him, and he had my necklace around his neck. “Such a pretty trinket…” It muttered. “No… give it…” I began to say. Suddenly, I collapsed on the floor and fainted.
(3rd Person!)
“Will!” Jane exclaimed and knelt down next to him. “Ya’ll awright?” She asked frantically. Will got to his hands and knees and said, “Of coursssssss! I feel fantasssssstic!” “Will?” Jane asked, slowly rising to her feet and backing away. He sounded like a snake. Will got up, and his eyes were glowing black. He was grinning evilly. “You little fool. Now you ssssssshall sssssssssssee what I am capable of!” Will exclaimed. Waves of darkness started pulsing from his body, sending everyone back by a few feet. With every pulse, his body, clothes, hair, and everything became darker until he was completely and 100% black. He laughed and said, “At lasssssssssst. I am free oncccccce again!” “WHAT’S HAPPENING?!?” Jane, Serenity, Taylor, Tyler and Kayla shouted. “It’s Shadow!” Erik exclaimed. “824, SICK’EM, BOY!” The General commanded. The Ferret tapped into the power of the Topazes and entered a super form. “Hehehe. You actually think thosssssse pathetic sssssstonessssssss can ssssssstop me? Then hit me with your bessssssst sssssssshot!” Shadow exclaimed. The Ferret rocketed at Shadow at near the speed of light…
Which did absolutely nothing at all. The Ferret screamed in shock and terror. Shadow grabbed it by the neck and absorbed every last ounce of power. “Fool.” He said, and tossed the Ferret aside like a used wash cloth. The Topazes appeared and formed a circle around Shadow. “Masssssssster Dazzzzzzzo ssssssssshall be very pleasssssed.” He said. “No, this is impossible!” The General exclaimed. “Oh pleasssssss, that was far to easssssssy. Issssss that the bessssssst the GHA can come up with? HA! Now you die!” Shadow exclaimed. He lifted one hand, and all 4 Topazes became black. Lightning blasted from each and fried the general. Then, Shadow vanished along with the Topazes.
“Uh… what just happened?” Serenity asked after a moment of silence. “Where’s Will?!?” Jane asked frantically. “Shadow…” Erik muttered. “What is he?” Taylor and Tyler asked. “One of 3 sources of evil in the universe. The other 2 are Dazo and Satan.” Erik answered. “Will’s… Evil?” Jane asked, fighting tears. “Not exactly. Shadow is a being that exists in the minds of all sentient life forms. It’s extra strong in the 4 leaders of the 12 Ozadians. That necklace was the only thing holding Shadow back.” Erik explained. “What about the Topazes?” Serenity asked. “Shadow took them, most likely to give them to Dazo. Those 2 are working together to destroy the entire universe.” Erik explained. “How do we get them back?” Taylor asked. “I don’t know that one.” Erik shrugged.
Jane approached the child and used her powers to revive and heal him. “Thank you.” The child said. “What stone was that guy talkin ‘bout?” Jane asked. “The Omni Topaz of Knowledge.” The child answered. “Did you save me?” He asked. “Ya, we did.” Jane said. “Thank you. Can you take me back to my father?” the child asked. “That’s why we’re here.” Erik said. “But guys! What are we gonna do about Will?” Serenity asked. “What can we do?” Tyler asked. Glances were passed around, and they all knew that there was nothing.
