Electro Static: part 22
|
"So, Will, how do we find the Topaz, anyways? It could be ANYWHERE on this lifeless planet." Erik said. Good point. This place was slightly bigger than the Earth, so how could we ever find one particular stone? "I don't know, now that you mention it." I replied. "How about you ask Ozad?" Kayla asked. W: Ozad! ; Yes? ; How do we find the Topaz? It could be ANYWHERE on this lifeless rock! ; Head north until you find a large mountain. Climb to the highest point of the mountain, and it should be there. Although, it's probably been burried a bit, so you may need Taylor and Tyler to dig it up for you. ; Which way is north? ; ... I am not sure. "Anyone got a compass?" I asked. "Nuh uh." Taylor and Tyler said in unison. "Nope, sorry." Serenity apologized. "Don't look at me." Kayla said. "Erik?" I asked. "Nope." He replied. "Jane?" I asked. "Sorry, hun." She said. "We could make one." Erik said. "How?" I asked. "You take me up to the ship. Then, I can use the ship's matter reconfigurator to make a glass of water, a bit of cork, a needle, and some tape. You can magnetize the needle, and then we tape it to the cork. Then, we place the cork in the water. Since the needle is magnetized, the planet's electro magnetic field should make it point north if its on the cork in the water." Erik explained. "Well then, what ya'll waitin' fer? Get goin!" Jane exclaimed. "OMNISCIENT SUMMONING!!!" I shouted.
Erik and I appeared in the back seat of the ship. Erik crawled through the TINY door that lead to the captain's room and started pressing buttons. Suddenly, a glass of water, a cork, a piece of tape, and a needle materialized out of thin air. "Cool." I said. I taped the needle to the cork and then placed it in the water. "Aren't you gonna magnetize the needle?" Erik asked. "I'll wait till we get back to the planet." I answered. "Okay." "OMNISCIENT SUMMONING!!!"
We reappeared next to the others. "Did you get the compass?" Kayla asked. "Almost, just one more thing to do." I replied as I generated a ball of electricity in the hand not holding the glass of water. I held it above the needle for a few minutes, and then dropped the ball on the ground, causing it to discipate. The needle slowly began to turn, and stopped after making a 90 degree counter clockwise turn. "That way." I announced, pointing in the direction the needle was pointing in. "Awright! C'mon, ya'll, let's go!" Jane exclaimed. Erik turned into a spark, and Taylor and Tyler grabbed Serenity by the arms and dug under ground. I grabbed Jane and Kayla, and started running as fast as I could possibly go. Erik zipped after me, and the ground where Taylor, Tyler and Serenity were digging lifted a bit, sort of like in those bugs bunny cartoons.
W: How long till we get there, Ozad? ; I do not know. I rarely visited this planet when I was king of the ascended beings because it has no life. I just know that at the top of the planet is a mountain, and I can sense that the stone is there. I don't know where we are in relation to this mountain. Fortunately, since it's at the top of the planet, going north will ALWAYS get you there, no matter where you are on the planet. ; You don't even have a guess? ; No. Sorry. ; It's all right. You've been a great help. ; Thank you. ; Don't mention it.
"Honey biscuit, how long we gonna be runnin?" Jane asked me. "I don't know, sweety. It could be hours, or days, or weeks possibly." I replied. "Awww... you 2 are so cute, calling each other honey biscuit and sweety!" Kayla exclaimed. "Sugar, could ya ask Ozad how long it'll be?" Jane asked. "I already did, buttercup. He doesn't know, either." I replied. She pouted and asked, "Can't ya use that teleportation ability of yers to get there, sugar plum?" Jane asked. "I'm sorry, cutypie, but I'm not sure what the mountain looks like. I need to have a general idea of where I'm going before I can actually go there using omniscient summoning." I apologized. "Awwwww..." Jane wined.
Night fell after a while, and we decided to rest for the night. "Where do we sleep? We don't have any beds or anything!" Erik complained. "W-w-w-will, I'm s-s-s-so c-cold!" Jane exclaimed. I wrapped my arms around and asked, "Is that better." She pressed her face and hands against my chest and said, "Uh huh!" This must've been driving Serenity crazy. "We could make caves for all of us." Taylor and Tyler suggested. "That would be warmer." I said. "I don't wanna sleep in a cave!" Serenity complained. "Okay, you can freeze out here while we're all nice and warm in our cozy little caves." Erik replied. She started grumbling incoherently. "So, will anyone be willing to share caves with others?" Taylor asked. "Nope." Erik said. "Nuh uh." Kayla said. "Jane and I could share a cave." I said. "And I suppose the 3 of us could share a cave." Tyler said, referring to himself, Taylor, and Serenity.
After a minute, Taylor and Tyler were finished with our caves. "Wow, that was fast." Erik said. "We're drilloids, remember?" Taylor and Tyler asked in unison. "C'mon, beautiful. Let's get out of this cold!" I exclaimed. The 7 of us crawled into our caves, which turned out to be not as warm as we expected. Fortunately, it was a lot warmer than outside, which was now freezing! I laid Jane and I down, wrapped my arms around her, and kissed her forehead. "I love ya." She whispered. "I love you, too. Good night." I replied. "G'night." she said, and then the 2 of us fell asleep.
When I woke up, Jane was looking at me with one hand on her hip and the other holding up her head. "Mornin, sleepy head!" She greeted me. "Good morning." I replied, and lightly kissed her on the lips. "Are the others awake yet?" I asked. "They've been up fer about 3 hours now. They waited fer ya ta wake up fer about 2 hours, then they left an hour ago." Jane answered. "WHAT?!?" I shouted, sitting straight up. She laughed and said, "Just pullin yer leg, honey biscuit. You and I are the only ones up." "That wasn't funny." I said. "Yeah it was!" She exclaimed. "Should we wake the others?" I asked. "Nah, it's still dark out. I think this planet's got longer days'n'nights than Earth." Jane answered. "Oh. So, should we go back to sleep?" I asked. "I tried awready. No luck." She said. "So, what do we do?" I asked. "We could jus talk." She said. "Okay... so, where are you from?" I asked. "Born in Nebraska, but mah folks raised me up in Austin, Texas. Ya'll?" "I was born in San Jose, California and lived there until I was 4, then I moved to Tucson, Arizona." I answered. "Oh, I'm sorry. I heard 'bout that fire." She said as she wrapped her arms around me. "It's okay. There was nothing left for me there by the time the fire started, anyways." I replied. "What happened?" Jane asked. "The GHA. They killed my family while they had me in some sort of prison." I replied. Tears started rolling down my face as I remembered seeing their corpses. Jane hugged me tighter and said, "I'm so sorry ya had to deal with that." and kissed my cheek. "Don't be sorry. It wasn't your fault." I replied. "Perhaps we should change the subject." She said. "Yes, please. Soooo... if you're from Texas, what were you doing in Florida?" I asked. "Road Trip. We first visited Idaho fer a couple o' days, and then we headed down fer Florida. We saw you lot on the way, so we decided ta help ya'll out." Jane explained. "Who were you traveling with?" I asked. "Mah folks and mah twin bro, Cody." She answered. "You're a twin?" I asked. "Uh huh! I'm 3 minutes older than him." She replied. "So, what are your parents and brother like?" I asked. "I hate both mah parents. Pa constantly gets drunk and beats the tar out o' me and Cody, and Ma just watches an' laughs. 'Fore I met you, Cody was the only person I could talk ta. I couldn't 'ave friends, 'cuz mah folks would always find and scare the tar out o' anyone I met." She answered. "I'm sorry." I said, holding her tighter. "Ya'll don't worry 'bout me. I'm fine, now that I have you." She replied, kissing me on the cheek. I kissed her and said, "And you always will." "I love ya." She whispered in my ear. "And I love you." I replied. We made out for a minute, and then fell asleep in each others arms. I am one lucky fella. I thought just before completely conking out.
To be continued...**Author's note: Sorry it was kinda mushy near the end, for those of you who don't like that sort of thing. I honestly like writing stuff like that every now and then, so if you don't like it, tough luck for you. I needed them to have a nice heart to heart conversation.**Comments
