3 days after the happenings of part 15...
I had been sleeping ever since we got to Kayla's house. I was running for 12 days straight AND dragging Erik and Lauren, so you can see why I was so tired. Suddenly, I was awoken by Kayla and Erik screaming, "HEEEELP!!! WILL!!!" I jumped out of bed and bolted through the halls and down the stairs.
2 police officers had Kayla and Erik in a head lock with knives to their throats. Between the 2 soldiers was a man I thought I'd never see again: The General. "General! How did you? But I thought Lauren had... wait, where is Lauren?" I asked. I hadn't noticed before that she wasn't being held along with Erik and Kayla. All of a sudden, I heard the cocking of a gun from behind me. I spun around, and what I saw made me jump back by at least 6 inches.
Lauren had a gun to my face. She had a general's uniform, with 5 stars on it. Beneath the stars were the letters GHA. "Uh... what's going on?" I asked. My brain wouldn't let me process this. "That bitch sold us out! That's what's going on!" Erik exclaimed. Lauren turned her attention to the general and said, "Good work, General Rising. I'll be sure to give you your 4th star after this mission succeeds." "Wait, what?" I asked. She looked back at me and said, "Stupid little boy. Perhaps it would have been better if you had left me with the other Genetons." Suddenly, the obviouse hit me like a pick up truck. "You traitorous bitch!" I shouted. O: Gee, I wonder how this would be happening if SOMEONE had actually listened to me! ; Okay, okay, I get it. Sorry! ; You realize this is the 4th or 5th time your disobediance has gotten us into trouble, don't you? ; 4th or 5th? I believe this is the 1st time. ; Don't forget your amnesia. ; Oh, right. "Traitor? Oh please. You actually think I was your friend? No no no no no. It's all just been an allaborate plot." Lauren replied. "Then why didn't you kill me earlier?" I asked. "I could have done that. But by waiting, I now have the green Omni Topaz AND the red Omni Topaz, plus 3 dead Genetons." Lauren answered.
(3rd Person!)
The air around Will became warped and twisted. His eyes were glowing a dark shade of silver, but not entirely black. "Hehehe. Fool." He muttered. He sounded like a cross between Flash and Shadow. He lifted his knee into Lauren's stomach, causing her to double over. As she did this, Will uppercutted her in the face, causing her to recoil backwards a bit. Will kicked her in the stomach, sending her crashing into a wall. "Kill them now!" Lauren commanded the 2 GHA troops. Will spun around to face the officers, and their heads exploded, leaving a mess of blood and brains on the walls, floor, and the faces of the General, Erik, and Kayla. Lauren fired 3 shots at the back of Will's head...
...Each of which hit, but then fell to the floor. Will turned to face her and asked, "Did I just feel 3 flies land on my head, or was that just you?" He took a few steps closer to her. Lauren fired 2 more shots, one to the head and one to the heart. Nothing. "Foolish traitorous wench. Do you realize what I do to those who cross me?" Will asked. Lauren pulled the trigger again, but there was nothing. Will smiled evilly, and generated 2 balls of electricity in his hands. "Pathetic norm." He said, and smashed them into her face, zapping her with 10,000 amps. Just so you know, 1 amp is sufficient to kill someone. Nothing was left of Lauren but a black, smoking corpse. "Hehehe. Serves you right." Will muttered.
Will turned to face the general and commanded, "You have the red Topaz. Give it to me NOW!" "I'll never give it to you damned Genetons." The general replied. "Very well. Then you will die." Will said, aiming one arm at him. 5 small strings of lightning flew from his fingertips, cutting 5 holes through the general. Blood trickled out of the holes and out of his mouth, and the General fell over. A red stone floated up from his body, and shot into Will's hand. "Very good. This can end now." Will said, and his eyes reverted to normal, brown eyes. The air around him calmed down.
"Cool!" Erik exclaimed. "It was, wasn't it?" Will asked. "I can't believe she would betray us like that." Kayla said. "I can. She was the only person I thought I could trust with my inner most thoughts. I knew it was too good to be true." Will replied. "You know, this wouldn't have happened if you had just..." Erik began to say. "Listened? Yeah, Ozad already lectured me on that." I finished for him. (Sorry for jumping from 3rd person to first person like that.) O: Okay, now that that's settled, it's time for you to regain your memories. ; How? ; Simple. Place the red Omni-Topaz in front of you, shut your eyes, and focus on it. As you do this, also think of the most angering image you can think of. ; That should be simple enough.
I placed the stone in front of me, shut my eyes, and focused on the Topaz. I pictured Lauren's face in my head. That was pretty angering. O: You may open your eyes now. I did, and saw the topaz circling around me and getting faster and faster with each rotation. "What's happening?" I asked. Suddenly, a bright light engulfed me, and memories began to flood my head. The light faded, and the stone was lieing on the ground in front of me. O: Do you remember? ; I believe so. ; What do you remember? ; Well, just about everything. ; Good! It worked! "Did it work?" Kayla asked. "Oh yeah." I replied.
"WOOHOO!!!" Erik shouted. "Yaaaay!" Kayla exclaimed. Not as loud as you know who did, but you get the picture. "So, with the General dead, does this mean we can stop running now?" Erik asked hopefully. W: May we? ; No. He may be gone, as is Lauren, but there are other generals out there. ; How many? ; 1 other 5 star, 5 4 stars, 12 3 stars, 22 2 stars, and 35 1 stars. Each of them is after you now. You must keep moving. ; So, where do we go? ; Where's the nearest space station? ; The only one I know of is in Florida. Why? ; We're going off world. ; WHAT?!? ; The blue topaz of power is waiting on another world. ; *grumble grumble* if you say so. I'm tired of these sticky situations that we get in whenever I don't listen. ; That's a good boy. "Sorry, Erik, but we've got to keep running." I said to Erik. "Awwwwww... why?" Erik complained. "There's a crap load more generals that are after us. Staying put wouldn't be smart." I explained. "Stupid GHA." Erik said. "Can I come with you guys?" Kayla asked. "Well, I don't know. I don't want another re run of today." I replied. "But I'm a Geneton! Why would I be apart of the GHA?" Kayla asked. "You are?" Erik asked. "Didn't I tell you that before we left Phoenix?" I asked him. "Oh yeah. Pyroid, right?" Erik asked. "No, I can make flames." Kayla replied. "That's what I Pyroid does." I told her. "Oh, well how was i supposed to know? I'm not smart!" Kayla exclaimed. "I know." I replied. "Oh yeah, thanks." Kayla said. "So, can I come?" She asked. "Well, the thing is, the GHA isn't our only enemy." I told her. "Yeah, there's that Dazo guy we have to take care of, isn't there?" Erik asked. "Uh huh. We don't know who could be working for him." I said. O: Actually, I do. Dazo is my spiritual brother. I know all of his followers. She's safe. Trust me. And besides, another Geneton is always helpful. "Actually, I think you can come." I said. "Yay!" Kayla exclaimed, and then she ran upstairs to pack. "Wow, you caved pretty fast." Erik said, "Ozad told me he knows everyone who's working for Dazo." I whispered in his ear. "Why are we whispering?" Erik asked. "I don't want to have to explain Ozad AGAIN." I replied. "Oh."
Kayla came down a few minutes later with at least 5 suit cases. "Oh no. I am NOT carrying all of that." I said. I had just ran 12 days in a row with no rest at all, plus I had to carry 2 people. I was NOT about to run all the way from here to Florida while dragging 2 people AND 5 suit cases! "It's okay. We aren't going on foot." Kayla said. "We aren't?" Erik asked. "Nope. My folks are gone for the week, so we could take the other car." Kayla answered. "Won't they worry about where you are when they get back?" I asked. "No, I'll write them a letter telling them where I am. Where are we going, anyways?" Kayla asked. "Florida, so we could hitch a ride on a space ship." I answered. "Seriousely?" She asked. "Seriously?" Erik asked. "Yup." I said.
Kayla dropped her bags in front of me and said, "Car's in the garage. Keys are on the top of it." She then ran off to find a pencile and paper. "Women." Erik muttered and picked up one of the bags. I silently agreed with him, and picked up another.
By the time we finished packing the last bag into the trunk, Kayla ran outside and said, "Okay, I'm ready!" "What ya right?" Erik asked. "Well, they know about my powers, so I said I'm off to save the universe." Kayla answered. "Oh yeah, that'll calm them down." I said sarcastically. "Well, sorry! I am not going back in there and rewriting that letter!" Kayla complained, and then she jumped into the passenger seat. "Oh, come on! Why can't I sit in the front?!?" Erik asked. "Because your small." Kayla replied. He was. He's quite litterally 2 heads shorter than me. Erik mumbled something, and then got in the back seat. I got into the driver's seat and put the key in the ignition. "Can you drive her?" Kayla asked. "Yeah, my dad taught me how." I replied. I suddenly regretted saying that. Thanks to that red Omni Topaz, which I had next to the green one in the trunk, I remembered all the good times I had with my dad, and how he and the rest of my family had been, well, you know.
"Are you okay?" Kayla asked. Tears had started rolling down my cheek. "Yeah, I'm fine." I said as I wiped away my tears. "You aren't having an Emo moment, are you? I'm supposed to be the emo, not you. You're too happy to be emo." Kayla said. I guess I should have pointed out that, yes, Kayla was what some people would call an emo. I can't even count the number of scars I've seen on her. Honestly, I don't get it. Back in Tucson, she had so many friends, AND Yosef, her boyfriend. Something must've happened at home, but I don't know what. "So, tell me what's wrong." Kayla said. "Well, a day before the fire that destroyed Tucson burnt down, Erik and I were captured by the GHA and thrown into jail to starve to death. When we escaped, I returned home to find that all my family had been killed by the GHA. Suddenly, the anger in me somehow managed to transform me into a terrible monster named Shadow. I then ended up burning down the entire city." I explained to her. "So, you're half evil?" Kayla asked. "Well, now Shadow is being controled by his brother, Flash. Back there, I had almost turned into Shadow again for the 3rd time. It was Flash who kept me under control." I explained. "3rd time?" Kayla asked. "Before Lauren betrayed us, she and Erik had been killed. Shadow gets loose, but then Flash intervenes. Flash puts Shadow back in my brain, and then uses his powers to revive the 2. If we'd known Lauren was a traitorous bitch, he wouldn't have revived her." I explained. I sure was doing a lot of explaining.
"Um, if you guys are done with your nice little conversation, I would like to get out of here before the GHA gets on our asses again." Erik said. "Okay then! Next stop, Florida, land of total humidity!" I put the car into reverse, backed out of the garage, put her in drive, and then drove off towards Florida.

**Author's note: For those of you who totally hate me for killing off Lauren, this is for you. The only reason I did it was because my friend Lauren told me she doesn't want to be in ANYONE'S stories, and that she wanted her character to die a terrible, gruesome death. I had no intention of killing her off until tuesday.**
