"How's it possible? I thought that Genetons were a rare breed!" I exclaimed. How could all these people be Genetons? It didn't make sense! "At first, they were. But, thanks to the GHA, they've had to take refuge. They gathered into packs of a few dozen, and passed on their genes from one generation to the next. It eventually lead to each pack having thousands of Genetons." Grandpa explained. "So, because of the GHA, the Geneton population sky rocketed?" I asked. "Precisely." All of us chuckled at the Irony of it all.
Suddenly, someone shouted, "Hey! The old man got us 3 new Genetons!" A man, somewhere in his mid-30s I thought, appeared right in front of us. "Whoa!" Erik, Lauren and I exclaimed. "That's Edd. His power is to become completely invisible." Grandpa said. "3, huh? Congrats old man! A new record!" Edd exclaimed. "Actually, I think I should probably point out that she's not a Geneton." I said, looking over to Lauren. "Well, it's still a new record. Most people can't even manage to bring in 1 newb. So, boys, what are your powers?" Edd asked. "We both have electric based abilities." I answered. "Then you may want to go over there." Edd said, pointing to a small cluster of boys. One of them looked up and said, "'bout time we get some newbies in the electric department." He was the tallest, best built one. He had blonde hair, a pair of sunglasses, and a leather jacket. "Those are the electrodes." Edd said.
Erik and I made our way over to the small group of boys. "Sup. Names?" The big kid asked. "Will." I answered. "Erik." "Those'll work. So, since your new, I'll be showing you around and protecting you for awhile." The kid said. "I don't think we'll need your protection." I replied. "Oh really? Can you do this?" The kid asked. He pointed at a girl in a pink dress half way across the room, and the zap caused her dress to lift up for a second. She put it down with her hands, and glared at Lucas with flames in her eyes. Literally. "Oops, I forgot that she was a Pyroid!" Lucas exclaimed. "No. But can you do THIS?" I asked. I generated 2 balls of electricity, smashed them together above my head, and focused on the nearest light bulb. There was a crack, and a bolt of lightning. Everyone in the room turned to stare at me. Most of them had their jaws on the ground. "What?" I asked, knowing I'd made an impression.
"Someone's getting laid tonight!" One of the younger electodes exclaimed. "Uh..." Was all I was able to say. "Josh is referring to you and Serenity. She has a thing for electrodes." The kid said. "I gathered that much. But why?" I asked. "You know that certain genes can effect multiple traits, right?" The kid asked. "Yeah, like the gene that gives a white tiger its white color also gives it blue eyes." I replied. "Well, it's the same with us. The gene that give us electric powers influence our... manhood." The kid said. Mine and Erik's eyes got really wide. Why were we talking about his, anyways? "Uh... we're a bit too young to be doing that kinda stuff." I said. "Sais who? Micky hooked up with her when he was 12." The kid replied. The idea made me sick to my stomach.
"So, to change the subject, how strong are you?" The kid asked Erik. "I have a slightly different kind of ability. I can turn into electricity and travel across a conducter, but that's about it." Erik said. "Oh." The kid replied, obviously unimpressed. "So, what's your name, anyways?" I asked him. "Call my Lucas." The kid replied. "So, who's the leader of you people?" I asked. "That would be that guy over there." Lucas answered, pointing to an old guy sitting at a desk on the far side of the room. "So, can I talk to him for a bit?" I asked. "You bet! I'm pretty sure that little display got you permission." Lucas said. "Good." I said, working my way through the crowd of people in the leader's direction.
"And what can I do for you?" The old man asked. Though he was old, he still sounded like a young adult, which was odd. "Do you guys care about the surface dwellers?" I asked. "Of course. We defend them from alien invasions on a regular basis. Then, when we're done, Fred over there wipes the people's memories so that no one remembers the aliens at all." The man replied. "Why?" "Well, there's something important that I think you should know." I replied. "And what's that?" The man asked. "Last night, the GHA completely surrounded the city of Phoenix last night with a huge wall." I said. Fear filled his face, and he asked, "So, it's finally happened, eh?" "Yeah... so what are we gonna do?" I asked. "Tomorrow, we will rise from the ground and destroy the wall. Tonight, we should all get some sleep so that we have enough energy." The man replied. He then pressed a button, and announced, "Attention all Genetons! Our worst fears have been realized! I want you all in bed by 6:30 tonight. Understand?" His voice boomed through the room, and everyone murmered a yes.
The old man waved me away, and I returned to the group of electrodes. I couldn't help but notice that hey were all boys, which was odd. "Why aren't there any femal electrodes?" I asked. "'cause, the gene for electric abilities exists in the Y chromosome, which can only be found in males." Lucas explained. "Oh, okay. That makes sense." I said. "It does?" Erik asked. "Don't mind him. He isn't smart." I said to Lucas. "Hey! I heard that!" Erik exclaimed. "So?" I asked.
Suddenly, everything started moving 1000x faster. Our words, our actions, etc. When it all stopped, the clock read: 6:25 pm. "What the?" I asked. "JOHNY!!!" Lucas shouted. "Sorry! I hiccuped!" Someone exclaimed. "What just happened?" I asked. "Johny hiccuped. Time Fast Forwards when that happens." Lucas explained. "AWESOME!!! That's so cool!" I exclaimed. "It wasn't cool when I was having a bit of fun with Serenity, if you catch my drift." Lucas replied. It then dawned on me that probably none of the other electrodes were virgins. I shuttered at the idea of doing it at the ages of 12, 13, and 14. "Well, I suppose it's time to go to bed. I'll show you your rooms." Lucas said, walking away. The other electrodes followed, as did Erik and I. He lead us to a door with a lightning bolt etched onto it. Lucas opened it, and we all walked in.
"Bed bots! 2 new beds! Chop chop!" Lucas commanded. 2 little robots that looked sort of like R.O.B. ran around the room, moving and making beds. "That's awesome! I wish Lauren could see this." I said. I couldn't even begin to imagine her reaction to THESE things. "Who?" Lucas asked. "The girl we brought with us. She's my bestest friend on the entire friggin planet." I answered. "Ah, I see. Well, she'll be seeing it soon enough." Lucas replied.
Every bed in the room was queen sized, and had completely opaque curtains around them. "What's with the curtains?" I asked. "They're completely opaque and completely sound proof. It allows a bit of privacy. Every bed in the base has them." Lucas explained. I gulped. What if Serenity decided to make a little visit? There wasn't a lock on the door. I just hoped she was tired enough to come visit. I pleaded. O: Don't waste your breath. ; She's coming, isn't she? ; Most likely. ; WHAT DO I DO?!? ; I am not sure. If worst comes to worst, run out and scream like a girl. ; I have dignity, you know. ; Fine, fine. Run out and scream. ; Much better.
"Well, your beds are ready. Get some sleep." Lucas said, walking off to a bed labeled: Lucas Nickea. The other electrodes went to their beds, each of which had a name. My heart sank, because it meant that Serenity would know which bed I was in. I'm not gay, it's just that I took a vow of abstinance that I plan to keep until I'm married, thank you very much. I got in bed and slowly drifted to sleep.
I found myself in a total void. There was nothing at all, just white in every direction. "Where am I?" I asked. "Ozad?" There was no responce. "OZAD!" I shouted. Still no responce. I wandered around, trying to find out where I was. But there were no distinguishable landmarks. Just a bunch of white in every direction; Up, down, left, right, etc.
Finally, I came across a huge temple. "Whoa. Big." I said. It towered over me, and I couldn't see the top it was so big. Finally! some place to go! Although, it could be dangerous. On the other hand, I'm not exactly safe out here, either. Who knows? Maybe they have food! I'm starving! I thought to myself. I was a kid who could eat a lot and still manage to maintain a healthy weight. I ran to the temple, and knocked on the door.
The doors slammed open inwards, and light covered me. I had to turn away and shut my eyes to prevent permanent blindness. After a minute, the light faded, and I walked into the temple. At the center of it, Ozad was waiting for me. "Ozad! There you are!" I exclaimed. "Where are we?" I asked. "Your mind." Ozad replied. "Wait, are you trying to say that I'm empty headed?!?" I asked, a bit annoyed. Ozad laughed, and said, "No, not at all. This is only a small portion of your brain. In fact, this area of blankness is only .0000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000001% of the capacity of your brain. The rest of it is cluttered with who knows what. I'm not allowed to go there." Ozad explained. "Oh. That's good." I said, relieved. "So, what are we doing here?" I asked. "I need to tell you something important, and I can't do it without showing you some things." Ozad replied. There were 12 pillars surrounding him, and 10 of them began to glow. "What's going on?" I asked. "I'm showing you the other 10 Ozadians." Ozad replied. "Awesome!" I exclaimed.
When the glowing stopped, there was the image of a person above each of the 10 pillars. "Bear in mind that some names might be repeated a bit." Ozad said. He floated over to the first one: A man about 35, with silver hair and green eyes. He held in his hand a small cube that read: ytachon 2.0 on it. He wore a blue jacket and a blue pair of slacks. His face was one of someone wise, someone compassionate, and someone who could kick your ass all at once. Around his neck was a necklace just like mine. "This is William, AKA the Traveler." Ozad said. He then floated over to the next person. He looked about the same age as The Traveler, and looked almost exactly the same, accept his hair was black with some red stripes. He had a look of mischief on his face, but he didn't actually seem evil. He wore an orange T shirt, brown shorts, and silver rings around his wrists. "This is X, the ascended being." Ozad said. He then moved to the 3rd Ozadian. He looked a lot like an older version of me, and he too had a necklace. He even had the same clothes as me: A long sleeve button up shirt on top, unbuttoned, a t-shirt underneath, and a pair of black slacks. "This is William, the Fire Sage." "Why do all the William's have a necklace, including me?" I asked. "You'll see." Ozad replied.
This rest of the names were: Erik the wind sage, Elliot the Earth Sage, Amy the Water Sage, Kate the Dark Sage, Christopher AKA Camo the Light Sage, X the Shadow Sage, and William. That last one also had a necklace, big surprise. However, there was something different about him. WAAAAY different. First of all, he had on a robotic suit. That was weird. But what really caught my attention is that he was the only one with a look of pure hatred on his face, one of misery and anger. Not exactly evil, but scary none the less. "What's with that one?" I asked, pointing towards the cyborg. "Ah, William. He's the only one that resisted his fate to save his quadrant. He eventually gave in, but it took some effort. His heart and mind were hardened when his true love, Lauren Turner died. What's worse, it was his 'friend' that killed her. It turned out that his friend Erik was a traiter and had been working for an evil man named Vinthrol." Ozad explained. "Erik?" I asked. "Don't worry. Your friend is nothing to worry about. He's an Ozadian, just as you are." Ozad replied. "Then why aren't we on the other 2 pillars?" I asked. "Your time to save the Delta Quadrant hasn't come yet." Ozad replied.
"But it will, soon." He said. "How soon?" I asked. "When you're about as old as the other 10." Ozad replied. "But by the time I'm 35, they'll be like, 50 or something!" I exclaimed. "They're in different quadrants. Time works slightly differently." Ozad replied. "But, that isn't the point. The point is that the REAL time is coming. The final battle to end evil in the universe, accept for Earth." Ozad continued. "Why not Earth?" I asked. "Bible prophecies still need to be fullfilled." Ozad replied. "Oh, that makes sense." I said. "Anyways. Soon, a time will come when you, Erik, and the other 10 Ozadians must meet to destroy the most evil being in the universe---" He said, but his voice was cut off.
I found myself in my bed, with Serenity sitting next to me on the bed. I felt hand cuffs on my wrist. HOW HAD I NOT FELT THAT?!? Great. Just great. I thought to myself.
