The dark figure that Will had become appeared on the outskirts of Tucson, where the city became desert. He could see police cars coming. Apparently, the cops still hadn't gotten out of the desert. "Pathetic Humans." Shadow said. The cops made no attempt to slow down, because they couldn't see him in the night. "Die." Shadow commanded. Instantly, the cars exploded in bursts of flame. The fire caught onto some plants, burning them to a crisp and starting a massive fire. "HAHAHAHA!!!" Shadow laughed maniacally. He looked at the flames and a smile crept onto his face. "Let's have a little fun, shall we?" He asked no one in particular. He lifted his hand towards the flames, and quickly spun around towards the city. The flames followed, and caught onto some buildings. "MUAHAHAHA!!!" People screamed and tried to escape, but Shadow wouldn't have it. "Pathetic humans." He directed the flames at anyone who escaped the burning buildings. "MUAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!! Now, for the GHA!" Shadow exclaimed. "OMNISCIENT SUMMONING!!!" He shouted, and once again vanished. Flames jumped from building to building, and soon half the city was on fire.
Shadow appeared yards above the building that Will and Erik had been kept in. He created a black ball of energy in his hand, and thrust it at the building. When the ball made contact, the GHA prison was completely decimated, even the underground parts. "HAHAHAHAHAHA!!! MUAHAHAHAHA!!!" "Oooh, this feels good. I haven't caused so much destruction in ages!" Shadow exclaimed. He looked around and said, "It's amazing that Ozad hasn't come and stuffed me in that Damned necklace already!"
"Speak of the Devil and he shall appear." Ozad said. Shadow spun around and replied, "You know darn well that you aren't a demon of any sort." Ozad was a flickering image, like a hologram. He had silver, red, and golden hair. He wore a golden crown with a red ruby on the front. He had on a silver robe, and a golden ring around his wrists and ankles. "It's a figure of speech that I picked up from humans." Ozad replied. Shadow chuckled and said, "It pains me to see you reduced to this, Ozad! You were once the king of some of the most powerful beings in the universe, the ascended beings! Now, you are just a flickering image, visible only to 2 small boys, and me." Shadow taunted. "And Dazo. Don't forget Dazo." Ozad reminded Shadow. "Ah yes, but who cares about him? He's just a simple fool who doesn't know what he could have been had he planned things a bit more carefully. Why would you mention him, anyways?" Shadow asked. "Because, though he is evil, he is still my brother." Ozad answered. "Your brother? Don't make me laugh! You 2 were both created by God, but that's the only relationship you have. We were ALL created by God, and therefore Dazo isn't really your brother. That's just another title for him." Shadow replied. "You're wrong. Before he turned---" "Oh please, don't try to give me one of your life stories! I've heard plenty of them! They aren't that interesting." Shadow interrupted him. "Fine. I can see you aren't in the mood to chat, so I'm just going to do what I came to do." Ozad said. "And what would that be?" Shadow asked. "You should know. It's happened 3 times already." Ozad answered. "Oh, you son of a bitch. You can't!" Shadow exclaimed. "I can." "You wouldn't!" "I would." "You won't!" "I will."
With that, Ozad lifted one hand, and a necklace appeared. "Don't bother fighting it, Shadow. You can't overcome it." Ozad said. The necklace flew towards Shadow, and wrapped itself around his neck. Shadow grasped it, desperate to pull it off. "Get it off! GET IT OFF!!!" Shadow shouted. He lowered to the ground, and collapsed. The black faded, and color returned. Will was back. "Nyeh... what happened?" He asked, weakly. "Don't worry, Will. Everything will be fine." Ozad said, now standing right next to him. Will looked at him and said, "Ozad? So this is what you look like!" "What do you think?" Ozad asked. "I think you'd win any crazy hair day contest hands down." Will replied, chuckling. "What's wrong with my hair?" Ozad asked. "Well, for starters, it's 3 different colors. Also, some of it reaches down to your knees, whereas other parts of it reach a yard above your head." Will explained. "your point?" Ozad asked. "That isn't normal, to say the least." Will replied. "Well, anyways, let's get out of here!" Ozad exclaimed. "How?" Will asked. "Grab the necklace and shout 'Omniscient summoning.' As you shout that, think of home." Ozad replied. "Okay." Will said, gripping the necklace. "OMNISCIENT SUMMONING!!!" He shouted.
"Whoa, where'd you come from?" Erik asked as Will suddenly appeared. "Ozad? Ozad?" Will asked. He couldn't see him. Yes? "Oh, I was hoping Erik would get to see you." Will said. I barely had enough power to show myself for as long as I did! "Wait, you SAW Ozad?!?" Erik asked in shock and awe. "Yeah." Will answered. "What he look like?" Erik asked. "His hair went about 1 yard into the air, and some of it went down to his knees. Plus, it was red, silver, and gold. He had a crown, a silver robe, and a ring around each of his wrists and ankles." Will described the man he'd just seen. "Cool." Erik said. "Wait... do you smell smoke?" Will asked all of a sudden. Erik sniffed the air and said, "Yeah."
They ran outside, and saw half of the city burning in the distance. "Oh no..." Erik said. Will ran towards that part of town and shouted, "C'mon!" "TOWARDS the flames?!?" Erik asked. "My best friend, Lauren lives over there! I just can't leave her!" Will exclaimed. She's fine, but you must hurry if you wish to save her! Will sighed in relief. Erik caught up to him, and he grabbed his arm. "OMNISCIENT SUMMONING!!!" Will shouted, and the 2 of them vanished.
They appeared in front of a burning house. They looked around, and saw fire trucks everywhere, and firemen desperately trying to put out the flames. However, the flames wouldn't give up. It was as though they were alive, and hungry. Little did the fire men know that they were. Will kicked the door down and shouted, "LAUREN!!!" "I'm up here!" A voice replied from the second story. Will ran up as fast as he could and said, "Sing! I need to know where you are!" "Bang bang Maxwell silver hammer came down upon her head!" Lauren sang. "Why?" Will thought to himself, and followed her voice.
Will found her in the bedroom, surrounded by flames. "Help!" She shouted. "Don't worry! OMNISCIENT SUMMONING!!!" Will shouted. He appeared right next to her. "How'd you do that?!?" Lauren asked. "I'll tell you later!" Will replied, and grabbed her arm. He shouted those 2 words, and the 2 of them appeared next to Erik. Will grabbed Erik's arm, and once again used omniscient summoning to get out of there.
The 3 of them stood in the desert, watching as the entire city of Tucson caught fire. "I sure hope everyone made it out alright." Lauren said. "Me too." Will and Erik agreed. Don't worry. Only a few people will die. "That's good." Will said. "Who are you talking to?" Lauren asked. "A voice inside my head that's been very helpful for the last 2 days or so. I'm pretty sure that the voice knows what it's talking about." Will replied. Lauren looked at him as if he were crazy. "I've heard him, too." Erik said. "Well, whatever. So, where are we going now?" Lauren asked. "We can't go home... so what's the plan?" Erik asked. "I don't know. I just don't know." Will replied. Just keep running. That's the most important thing. Don't stop running. Run, and only stop when you truly need to. Never stay in one city for too long. The GHA will find you if you do. "So, you guys ready for a new life?" Will asked. Lauren and Erik nodded, but didn't say a word. "Then let's go." He grabbed them both by the arm, and ran as fast as he could into the wilderness.
Deep inside the folds of Will's mind...
Shadow was drifting, doing absolutely nothing. "It's only a matter of time. Eventually, SOMETHING will get the necklace off of him. And when that happens, I'll be back! MUAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!" "Now, all I have to do is wait." Shadow laughed again, with more malice in his voice than ever.
