Electro Static [3] Captured
|
"Ozad! A little advice would be appreciated!" I muttered under my breath. Go anywhere, just don't go home! "How do we get out of here?" I asked. Think. You can make lightning. Use that to your advantage. Ozad said. "How?" You're a clever boy. You can figure it out. Ozad replied. "Oh gee, thanks for your help." I said sarcastically.
The cops hand cuffed us, tossed us into the back seat of a police car, and we were taken away. The seats were incredibly uncomfortable, and a spring was sticking out in the seat between Erik and I. The siren was incredibly loud; Much louder than most police sirens. I would have plugged my ears, but that of course was impossible seeing as I was hand cuffed. The windows were tinted, so hardly any light was getting in and I could barely see anything. Over all, it was a rather terrible trip. "You have any ideas?" Erik asked in a hushed tone. "I'm working on it. The only thing Ozad gave me to work on was the fact that I can make lightning!" I replied, also quiet. "Ozad?" Erik asked. "I know this sounds crazy, but you know how, when we were fighting the giant lizard, I sometimes seemed like I was talking to no one at all?" I asked. "Yeah." "Well, most of the things I did was because a voice in my head was telling me to. I know it sounds crazy, but we wouldn't have survived had it not been for that voice directing my actions." I explained. "And the voice calls itself Ozad?" Erik asked. "Precisely. But right now, all he's saying is to use my lightning to our advantage." I said. "Any specification on how?" Erik asked. "Sorry, all he says is that I can figure it out for myself. "He sure is helpful, isn't he?" Erik asked.
We were driving for hours, and we soon found ourselves in the middle of the desert. It was so barren, not even a cactus could be seen. The place was like a completely lifeless, barren waste land. Suddenly, the cop cars came to a stop. "Where are we?" I asked. The cop ignored me, and stepped out of the car. "Why did we stop? There's nothing here!" Erik exclaimed. "Maybe they're going to leave us here to die." I said.
Suddenly, the most impossible thing occured. In front of us, something started materializing out of nothing! It was a small building, surrounded by barbed wire fences and gun turrets. Above the door of the building were 3 letters, glowing a neon green. GHA. "What the hell just happened?!?" Erik asked, about as amazed as I was. A building had suddenly just appeared in the middle of the desert. Erik and I had our eyes wide open and our jaws on the floor. The cops pulled us out of the car and pushed us towards the building. "How is this possible?" I asked. Once again, the cops ignored me, and proceeded to push us through the front door.
The room was empty, and all that could be seen was a flight of stairs going down. The cops forced us down the stairs, and once the last cop went down, there was a slamming noise, and the lights went out. "Uh oh. We're trapped!" I exclaimed. Every few feet, we heard the same slamming noise, indicating that doors were slamming behind us. Based on the volume of the slams, I guessed that the doors were made of thick metal. VERY thick metal. "Where are you taking us?" I asked. Just as I expected, the cop ignored me again. I tried zapping him, but his rubber suit made it impossible. "Absolutely fantastic." I muttered. Don't worry. You will make it through this. Ozad assured me.
At the bottom of the stairs was a complex maze of hallways and doors. Above each door was a number glowing a faint neon green. "This place doesn't really care about energy efficiency, does it?" I asked, rhetorrically. "We don't need to pay electric bills." The cop said. Suddenly, I felt something hit me in the back of my head. My vision started to fade, until I was completely unconsious.
".........................up!" "Wi..........................up!" "Wi................ke up!" "Wi...........wake up!" "Will, wake up!" I heard Erik calling to me. I slowly opened my eyes and sat up. I yawned, and asked, "how long was I out?" "I'm not sure. I just woke up a few minutes ago, but I don't exactly know how long we've been in here." Erik replied. The room was very dimmly lit. There was only one incandesscent light bulb, and it was 20 feet above our heads. It was obviousely a very old light bulb. The room was only about 10 square feet. "How'd we get in here?" I asked. "The cops knocked us out so we wouldn't memorize the hall ways." Erik said. "How do we get out?" I asked. "We can't. I've tried the door; It's locked." Erik replied. "Are there any electric outlets?" I asked. "Nope, sorry." Erik said. "Well, this is fantastic. I sure hope they feed us!" I exclaimed, my stomach suddenly demanding food. grumble grumble grumble. "Was that YOUR stomach?" Erik asked in shock. "Sorry, I'm STARVING." I said. They plan to starve you 2 to death. Ozad told me. "Great, what a way to go!" I exclaimed. "What is it?" Erik asked. "Ozad just said that they plan to starve us to death." I replied. Don't worry. You WILL make it. Ozad said. "How do you know?" I asked. You're Ozadians. Your kind always makes it. Ozad replied. "Ozad says that we'll make it through this." I told Erik. "I'm beginning to question just how reliable this Ozad is." Erik replied.
I looked up at the light bulb. "There has to be a way to get up there." I said. "Doubtful. And besides, what would we do if we DID get up there?" Erik asked. "think about it. It's a lightbulb, and its glowing. That means there must be electric current flowing into and out of this room!" I exclaimed. "Meaning, if we could get up there, I could turn us into electricity and get us out of here!" Erik finished for me. "EXACTLY!!!" I shouted. "But how do we get up there?" Erik asked. "I'm not sure... give me a while to think about it." I replied.
I sat down and tried to concentrate. However, it was difficult to concentrate on acount of my empty stomach. I tried to think of something else to distract me from my hunger, but every thought somehow related to food. I tried thinking of a paradise... but accidentally filled the paradise with food. I tried thinking about being surrounded by beautiful women (What would you expect? I'm a guy!)... but they ended up feeding me grapes. I thought of home... and the bacon and pancakes my mom almost always prepares for me. Everything lead back to the same thing: FOOD!!! I tried to do complex math in my head... but ended up having to use the number Pi in my calculations. "Yummy... Pie..." I mumbled. Snap out of it! Think! "I can't help it... I'm so hungry!" I exclaimed. You think your hungry? I haven't had a meal in nearly 10,000 years! You can do it, trust me! Ozad replied.
I looked up at Erik. He was starting to look like a drum stick. My mouth watered. "Uh, Will? Why are you looking at me like that?" the drum stick asked. "So hungry..." I said. "Uh, dude? You're starting to freak me out!" The drum stick exclaimed. My stomach was demanding food, and Erik looked like a drum stick. I did what any sensible living thing would do: ATTACK!!! I jumped into the air at Erik. "AAAAAAAH!!!" He shouted, and ducked out of the way. "MUST EAT!!!" I shouted. Will! Calm down! Control yourself! Ozad scolded me. "I'm sorry, but I MUST EAT!!!" I yelled, and lunged at the now terrified looking drum stick. I grabbed his arm and bit down. He screamed.
"YUCK!" I exclaimed, releasing his arm. "Dude! What is your problem?!?" Erik shouted. "Sorry, you looked like a drum stick... at least until I tasted you! You seriousely need to bathe more." I said, trying to spit out the disgusting taste. "Well, serves you right." Erik replied. "Sorry..." I said, my face becoming red with embarrassment. "Hey, don't worry about it. You were starting to look like a stick of solami." Erik replied. I stepped back a bit. "Don't worry. Now, lets get back to thinking." Erik said.
What was that all about? "Sorry, I was hungry, and he looked like a drum stick." I replied. Don't do that again. Ozadians don't do cannabalism! "Sorry! Get off my back." I said. I'm not on your back, I'm in your brain. "It's a figure of speech!" I exclaimed. Ah, I see. "Look, can't you just tell us how to get out of here?" I asked. If I do, then you will never learn to defend yourself. You must be able to think if you are to save the Delta Quadrant. "SAVE THE DELTA QUADRANT?!? Whoever said anything about that?!?" I asked in shock. It is yours and Erik's destiny. Accept it, as the other 10 Ozadians did. "I'm only 13!" I exclaimed. "What's he saying?" Erik asked. "He says that you and I are destined to save the Delta Quadrant." I answered. Do not worry. You will be older when it happens. "How much older?" I asked. Possibly your mid 20s. Now, get back to thinking! I sat down and pondered the huge load that had just been dropped onto our shoulders. How did this guy expect 2 kids to save a quarter of the Universe? "It's impossible." I said. Nothing is impossible for an Ozadian. Now, get back to thinking.
I thought for another hour, when the idea finally came to me. "Erik, I've got it!" I exclaimed. Told you so. "What's the plan?" Erik asked. "I'm going to electronically connect myself to the Light Bulb by creating a bolt of lightning between it and myself. You then jump into the lightning bolt and get into the wires in the walls. After that, you jump out of the wires on the other side of the wall and unlock the door!" I explained. Brilliant! "Hey, that might just work! Let's do it!" Erik exclaimed.
I created a ball of electricity in each of my hands, and smashed them together above my head. I concentrated on lightning, and soon there was a bolt connecting me to the bulb. Erik jumped into the lightning bolt, and flew into the wires of the walls. In a minute, I heard a click and the door opened. "C'mon, lets get out of here!" Erik exclaimed, and we ran down into the halls.
