It took me a few hours to finally find the ship. Over the last year, it had been covered by all sorts of plants, making it difficult to spot. Once I got to the area where I had first landed, I began cutting away at all the plants that had grown around it.
After a few hours, I finally cleared away everything and got into the ship. "Computer, are you still functional?" I asked. "A...fir...ma...tive..." It replied. It had very little power left, seeing as it could barely say one word. I headed for the bridge, and then sat in the captain's chair. "Let's see... Ozad said use the Necklace, but how?" I asked myself.
I removed the necklace, and stared at it for a minute. It had 1 large stone in the front, and 7 smaller beads along the string. Each of the smaller beads had a hole in them that looked about big enough to fit a finger in.
That's when it hit me. I looked at the Nova Ring Console; a small disk with 7 poles sticking out of it, one for each ring. That was how the ship used the Rings' energy. I placed one bead on the necklace on each pole, and the larger stone began to glow. Suddenly, the ship's lights turned on, and the engine began humming. "Oh yeah!" I shouted. "Computer, how much energy do we have?" I asked. "10 nrs." The computer answered. An nr was a unit of energy I made up for the ship. 1 nr has the same amount of energy as 1 Nova Ring; 10 nrs=10 Nova Rings. Of course, since there's only 7 rings total, that meant the Necklace was WAAAAY more powerful than the nova rings. "Fantastic! That's definitely enough to get back to Earth. Computer, take us into Hyper Space! Destination: Home." I commanded. "Affirmative." The computer replied. The Nova Dodger jumped into Hyper Space, and I found myself back in the forest on Earth.
Or at least, where the forest WAS. Every tree had been cut down, and metal covered the ground seemingly forever in every direction. The sky was a very dark shade of purple. "What's happened?" I asked to no one in particular.
All of a sudden, a herd of sheep and bob cats ran past me. The bob cats weren't killing the sheep. "That ain't good." I said. Just then, 2 people zoomed past me. "DON'T JUST STAND THERE! RUN!!!" One of them shouted as they passed me. The voice seemed familiar, but they were moving to fast for me to recognize who it was. Then, a crowd of people ran past me. However, they weren't panicking, so I figured they were the people who still didn't have emotions. "What's every body running from?" I asked.
Suddenly, there was a crash just a few hundred feet away. I looked up, and saw the BIGGEST robot I have ever seen; It would tower over the Empire State Building easily. "Yeah... that's a good reason to be running." I said, and ran after them.
After a few minutes, I caught up to the 2 guys that had been running. "Whoa, how'd you catch up so fast?" One of them asked. "You tell me, Miles. You built this mech!" I exclaimed. "William?" Miles asked. "Hey, Kyle, it's William!" he said to the other one. "Hey! Long time no see!" Kyle exclaimed. "Whatever. Where's the 3rd musketeer?" I asked. "Cody? He's... gone." Miles said, with a hint of sadness in his voice. "What happened?" I asked. "Counter attack." Kyle replied. "Figures. I knew he'd regret using nothing but jump attacks. If you wanna kill someone, you kill them with fire power. Dumb ass. I say good riddance." I said. "You know, you're a real ass hole." Miles said. I ignored him.
As luck would have it, we came across a wall. "Great! Just great! How do we get across?" Kyle asked. "With our luck, it will probably fall on top of us." Miles said. "What do we do?!?" Kyle asked frantically. "We fight, that's what we do!" I exclaimed. "ARE YOU INSANE?!?" Miles asked. I turned to face the robot, and fired everything I had: Bazookas, machine guns, energy rifles, lasers, grenades, and a bunch of other stuff. Miles, Kyle, and the other "people" started doing the same with whatever weapons they had. For the "people", that wasn't much, but it still worked.
After a few minutes, the robot went down. "We were running from THAT?" I asked. "Yeah... that was a bit too easy." Miles said.
He spoke too soon. The robot's ear fell off, and thousands of robots looking like me came out! "That however, is not going to be easy." I said. Everyone started firing, except for me. I knew it was pointless. The robots couldn't be killed unless you completely drained them of their energy, or completely destroyed ever single atom of them. Otherwise, they'd just heal in an instant. That's exactly what happened. "These guys are invincible!" Miles shouted. "No, its just that you have to either completely destroy every single atom, or drain them of all energy." I said. "And the only thing that can do that is stuck on my ship which is a few miles away by now." I continued. "Use Nova Dodge to get it!" Kyle shouted. "Do you see any Nova Rings on my fingers?" I asked, lifting both hands. "No." They both said in unison. "Exactly." I said.
"Can you run around them? Maybe if you're sneaky enough, you can get back to your ship and whatever it is that we need to defeat these guys!" Miles suggested, the army getting closer and closer. "No. For some reason, they're able to tell exactly what I'm going to do. It's probably because they're exact replicas of me. They know exactly what I know, so they know what I'm going to do next!" I explained. "That ain't good." Kyle said. Then I got an idea. "What if one of YOU goes for it? Who's faster?" I asked. Kyle and I both looked at Miles. "What?" He asked. "You WERE a bit ahead of me." Kyle said. "Oh great. So, what am I looking for?" Miles asked. "A necklace. It's on the bridge of the ship." I replied.
Miles pressed a few buttons on his arm, and suddenly disappeared! "You never cease to surprise me, Miles." Kyle said in amazement. "I know! I'm smart that way." Miles's voice responded. "I sure hope he's fast enough." I said.
In a minute, the robots were all over us. Those of us that hadn't been hurt started running. The robots chased us, and were slowly catching up. "Where the heck is Miles?!?" I shouted.
As if on cue, a necklace came into view and was heading straight for us! "How convenient." Kyle said. The robots were right on our tails! I snatched the necklace from Miles's invisible hand, and put it on.
I stopped running, and tapped into the necklace's power. I began floating in mid-air, and light was radiating from my body. "Oh yeah!" I exclaimed, and turned to face the robots. I grabbed 2 by the necks, and turned them into pure energy. I then used the energy to vaporize other robots. That took out about a quarter of them. The remaining robots dog piled me. A wave of energy shot from my body, disintegrating some robots and sending the others flying. They fired everything they had. I sent it all back at them 10 fold. "Pathetic androids!" I shouted. The few survivors ran. "NOVA BLAST!!!" I shouted. An orange ball of energy generated in front of me, and chased after the fleeing robots. It exploded, engulfed them, and destroyed them except for one.
I grabbed its neck and asked, "Where is Vinthrol?" It didn't respond. "WHERE IS HE?!?" I shouted. Still no response. "I shall spare you if you tell me." I lied. "You're lying." The robot said. "Fine. Tell me, and I won't make it hurt." I said, this time telling the truth. "I am a robot, and therefore cannot feel pain." The robot replied. "Oh really?" I asked. Energy flowed through my hand and into its body. I punched the robot in the face. "Does THAT hurt?" I asked. "Y-y-yes." It stuttered. "Tell me where Vinthrol lives, and I'll kill you quick and painlessly." I said. "A castle... in Alaska." The robot said. I put him down, snapped my fingers, and he ceased to exist. "NOVA DODGE!!!" I shouted.
I appeared in front of a castle protected by a shield of ice and snow. I stopped glowing, and I lowered to the ground. "well, that was fun. Now, to kill Vinthrol." I said. I got out a flamethrower and started melting the ice.
After an hour, I finally had a way to enter the castle. I went in, and started searching for Vinthrol. "Where are you?!?" I shouted, but no response. "VINTHROL!!!" I yelled. I looked in every room, every closet, every hall, but couldn't find him anywhere on the first floor. I went up to the second floor with the same result.
Finally, I got to the last room on the top floor. "He has to be in here! Robots can't lie!" I said. I pushed the door open, and light flooded into the hall I was in. I shut my eyes, and waited for the light to fade.
When it did, I saw Vinthrol on the opposite end of the room, sitting in a throne, and he had the Nova Rings in his hand. "Ah, if it isn't my good friend, William. You've been gone for quite some time!" Vinthrol exclaimed. "Spare me the pleasantries. You know what I came here to do." I said. "Ah, such rude behavior! Guards, seize him!" Vinthrol commanded. Suddenly, people came into the room. Not robots, people. "These people are my obedient pets! Now, get him!" Vinthrol said, pointing at me. "Humph! If you weren't such a coward, you'd face me on your own." I said. "Oh, a challenge, eh? Fine, leave him." Vinthrol said. He got up from his seat.
He activated the Nova Rings, and I activated the necklace. He charged at me, grabbed my neck, and shouted "NOVA DODGE!!!" We appeared outside. I kneed him in the crotch to loosen his grip, and then kicked him away. I rocketed towards him and punched him in the face, knocking him to the ground. He rose to his feet, and generated 2 black balls of energy in his hands. I generated a large orange ball of energy in mine. The balls collided, and exploded. Through the smoke, Vinthrol flew at me, grabbed my neck, and pulled me into space. Fortunately, the necklace made it so I didn't need to breath. Vinthrol started punching me in the face, and I responded by shooting out a wave of energy from my body. He crashed into a nearby asteroid. He looked at me with hate, and vanished. Suddenly, I felt 2 hands smash down on my head, a knee to my crotch, and a kick to my spine. Then, Vinthrol backhanded me, sending me crashing into the moon. "NOVA DODGE!!!" I shouted. I appeared a few hundred yards away, and rocketed towards Vinthrol at top speed. I crashed into him with my head, and sent him flying. He stopped himself, put his hands together, and a beam of black energy shot at me. I retaliated with a blast of yellow, red, and orange energy. Our 2 beams collided and strained, pushing on one another. "Give up! you can't defeat me!" Vinthrol shouted. "Ha! You actually think you can ever overpower me?" I asked. I put more force into my beam, and quickly pushed through his. The beam hit him, sending him crashing into the Earth. "NOVA DODGE!!!" I shouted.
I appeared 10 yards away from Vinthrol. He got up and dusted himself off. "I've had just about enough of this. Freeze." He said. All of a sudden, I couldn't move. "What's happening?" I asked. "MUAHAHAHA!!! Now, hand over the necklace!" Vinthrol demanded. Suddenly, it was like I no longer had control of my arm. It pulled the necklace off of my neck, and dropped it. Vinthrol picked it up with his mind, and placed it on his neck. "Grrr... how?" I asked, returning to my normal form. "Do you know how you are still alive?" Vinthrol asked. "Does it matter?" I asked. "Yes, it does. Years ago, why do you think you were in a capsule in one of my bases?" Vinthrol asked. "You should have died in the Solar System. Your ship and the Nova Rings were completely out of power, and you were running out of food. How do you think you survived?" Vinthrol asked. "I don't know what you're talking about." I said. "Of course you don't. That's because you DIDN'T survive. No, you died a slow and agonizing death of starvation and thirst." Vinthrol said. "Then how am I still here?" I asked. "Simple. You aren't who you think you are. You are MY creation. That is how the robots know your every move. THAT is how I can communicate with you in your brain. THAT is how I can manipulate you." Vinthrol said. "No! It's not true!" I exclaimed. "Oh, but it is. Watch." Vinthrol replied. He fired at the exposed upper half of my arm. Some skin came off, but underneath wasn't bone and muscle.
It was metal. "You see? You are just an android, which is why you cannot remember your past. You have no past." Vinthrol said. "I created you, so that you could do my bidding." Vinthrol continued. "Then why do I keep trying to kill you?" I asked. "Because, you are the one special robot. Part of the original soul is still in you. I thought that would make you more powerful. Instead, it just made you a nuisance. I fell to my knees. "No! Damn you! It's not true!" I shouted. "You fool. Accept it. You are my creation, and I will spare you, if you give up right now." Vinthrol offered. I blacked out.
Memories. It's a strange thing how they can just creep up on you, especially when the creep up on you when you most need them. Right now, memories were flooding my brain. The first time I woke up in Alliance HQ. The first time I saw Lauren and Marvin. The months of training I went through. Being partnered with Lauren, and encountering Vinthrol for the first time. Activating the Nova Rings, and reviving Lauren from the dead. Meeting Erik for the first time. The destruction of Alliance HQ. Running away from the surviving members of the Alliance. Finding Lauren, and kissing her on the porch swing under the moon. Returning to the Alliance A year later. Fighting Vinthrol, and getting the rings from him. Flying the Nova Dodger, and teleporting the Earth away. The slow and agonizing death that Vinthrol had mentioned. It all came back.
"WHAT'S THIS?!?" Vinthrol asked with anger, as I rose to my feet. "How are you breaking free of my control?!?" He asked. "You have no control over me." I said, stepping towards him. "I am William the Ozadian. It matters not who created me, or for what purpose. What matters is that I was given free will, and the ability to choose for myself! I have a duty to protect this planet, and all of its inhabitants. It's not just for Lauren and Ozad anymore. I'm doing this for the human race, and for its right to continue living on the way it was originally meant to! I will defend that right, and the lives of all humans from you and all other threats! I'm going to destroy you, Vinthrol, no matter what it takes!" "Such insolence! I gave you life, and this is how you repay me? I suppose I'll just have to take that life back!" Vinthrol exclaimed. He lifted his hand, and I suddenly was too weak to stand. "You seem to have forgotten that, being a robot, you are incredibly vulnerable to an Elector Magnetic Pulse. And to think you were making such a bold speech just 20 seconds ago. Now, you die." Vinthrol said.
He generated a ball of black energy, and launched it at me.

The ball exploded, sending William flying. He crashed into the dirt, and was buried beneath the rocks. Vinthrol absorbed the power of the Rings and the Necklace. The sky turned totally black, and Vinthrol's skin became blood red. The whites of his eyes became a poisonous yellow. He let the rings and necklace drop to the floor. "Now I don't need them to be powerful!" He exclaimed. The rings and necklace lost all color.
Suddenly, the necklace began glowing white. The rings started floating an inch off of the ground. A beam of white lot shot from the ground, where William had crashed. His silhouette was floating in the midst of the light. "Humph! You actually thought you could defeat ME , by transforming into a monster?!?" William asked. "What's happening?!?" Vinthrol asked. "Now you will see the true power of Nova!" William shouted. The rings and the necklace glowed even brighter, and began orbiting the beam of light. The rings grew, and then they and the necklace flew into the light. Light filled the area, scattering the darkness created by Vinthrol's transformation.
When the light faded, William was standing on his feet with his mech in pieces at his feet. There was a band of gold around his head, 2 around each wrist, and one around each ankle. The necklace was around his necklace, and glowing brighter than ever before. He glared at Vinthrol, with a look of triumph on his face. "Impressive. You aren't as easy to kill as I originally thought!" Vinthrol exclaimed. He started forming a ball of black energy in his hands.
However, a sharp pain shot through his spine, and he fell to his knees, dispersing the ball of energy. Vinthrol looked up, and William was right behind him. Vinthrol growled, got up, and kicked William in the stomach. William flew backwards, but stopped himself before crashing into the castle. "Nova pulse!" William exclaimed. Waves of energy pulsed from William's body, destroying part of the castle and sending Vinthrol flying. William flew after him, and punched Vinthrol in the temple. William started punching and kicking him everywhere, with thousands of strikes per second.
However, Vinthrol wasn't done yet. He grabbed William by the neck and threw him to the ground. Vinthrol then flew down and punched William further into the dirt. A wave of energy shot from William's body, sending Vinthrol into the air. William flew upwards and slammed Vinthrol into Space again. Vinthrol punched William in the gut, sending him flying off. William stopped himself, and said, "Nova..." His eyes glowed yellow. "STORM!!!" He finished. Nova energy started spiraling from William's body and towards Vinthrol. Each blast hit its mark, sending Vinthrol crashing into an asteroid. The yellow glow in William's eyes faded, and he flew towards the asteroid. He punched the meteor, and it shattered into thousands of pieces, sending Vinthrol flying again. Vinthrol stopped himself, and fired thousands of black balls at William. He tried to dodge them, but they followed him and bombarded him.
William and Vinthrol flew at each other, collided, and bounced off each other a few times. By now, they were light years away from the Earth. William grabbed Vinthrol by the neck, and flung him into the ocean of a dead planet. William flew down to the surface, and started boiling the water. Vinthrol jumped out before getting boiled along with the water, and punched William in the chest. William went flying, and crashed into a giant rock formation coming out of the water. William flew back, grabbed Vinthrol by the arm, and shouted, "NOVA DODGE!!!"
They appeared a few miles above the Earth. William's hand began glowing, and burned Vinthrol’s arm with fire of 10trillion degrees. Vinthrol shouted in pain, and William just grinned. Vinthrol used his free arm to punch William in the face. Vinthrol ended up burning his hand on impact. Vinthrol no longer could stand it. "Master Dazo... I've failed..." He muttered under his breath, and fainted. "Nova dodge." William said.
They were now in a completely lifeless galaxy. "Hyper..." William began to saw, his entire body glowing red. "NOVAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!!!!" He shouted. A blast of nova energy pulsed from William's body, and the entire lifeless galaxy was vaporized, along with Vinthrol. The blast was so huge, every living thing in the Quadrant saw it and stared in awe.
William appeared back on Earth, a few hundred yards away from Miles and Kyle. The rings were back to their original size, and were on his fingers again. Without his mech, he collapsed to his hands and knees. Miles and Kyle ran over to him and helped him to his feet. "I did it. Vinthrol's gone." William muttered. He and Kyle bumped fists, and William hi5d Miles. "We did it. I wouldn't have made it without you guys." William said. "Look over there!" Kyle exclaimed, pointing to the crowd of people they had been with. They were free of Vinthrol's control, and could now learn their emotions. "But who's going to teach them about all the feelings?" Miles asked. "I think I know." William said.
Within a day, every Alliance building was filled with people. William had another new mech, and was helping all the people of the Alliance to train the trillions of people how to have emotions. The image of Ozad was right next to him, but only William could see him. "You did good, my little Ozadian." Ozad said. "I still don't know what that is, but I know now that it means I have to defend these people, at all costs." William replied. "Who ya talking to?" A small child asked William. "Nobody. Nobody at all." William replied, and ran over to help someone gain their emotions back.

I know, I know, it ended WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAY to soon, but I have my reasons, which I will not be stating. Well, be on the look out for my next and FINAL series: Electro Static. It'll be my LAST LAST LAST LAST LAST series, so don't expect any more series from me. Sure, I might have some stories here and there, but NO MORE SERIES!!! D: |
