I waited for hours, with nothing to do. With my mech gone, I was useless; I couldn't walk, I couldn't think, I was even forgetting how to talk! I was losing hope, and was wishing that Vinthrol would just come and kill me now. I was suffering without my mech.
Just then, I saw the Nova Rings begin to glow again. "Y-y-yes... I c-can esc-c-c-cape." I stammered. "N... n... what w-w-were the w-words again?" I asked myself. The rings were working, but I couldn't remember the words I needed to use them! "Nuva? Nola? What was it?" I asked. "Nora... no... Nada? no..." Without my mech, I couldn't remember anything or think straight. I felt like a gold fish. "Nozo? no, that isn't it... Nazo... no... Mova? no... it started with an n... or was it an m?" I asked myself. "W-w-wait... w-what am I t-t-trying to r-r-remember?" I asked. I looked at the rings. I knew there was SOMETHING they could do, but I couldn't remember what! "W-why am I trying t-t-to remember 2 little words?"
Just then, a man walked into the room. "P-p-please, h-help m-m-me." I pleaded. He seemed familiar, but from where? His name started with a V... but who was he? "Whoever you are... p-please h-h-help me..." I begged. The man chuckled, and said, "How the mighty have fallen. I remember when I was actually impressed with your abilities, William." The man said. "W-w-william? I-i-is that m-my name?" I asked. "Yes it is." The man said. "Wh-h-ho are you?" I asked. "My name is Vinthrol." the man replied. "P-p-please, V-v-vinthrol... please h-help me..." I pleaded. Vinthrol chuckled, and said, "No." "P-p-please... I'm d-d-dieing..." "And we should all be so happy." Vinthrol said, grinning evilly. "I b-b-beg of you... p-p-please..." I pleaded. "I'll make you a deal. Hand over the Nova Rings, and I MIGHT release you." Vinthrol offered. "The w-w-w-what?" I asked. "The rings on your fingers." Vinthrol said. I looked at my fingers. There were 7 glowing rings. "T-t-t-take them..." I said, desperate to get free.
Vinthrol removed the rings from my fingers. "Now p-p-please... h-help m-m-me..." "Hmmm... No, I don't think I will." Vinthrol said after a moment. "P-please..." Vinthrol left the room, laughing. "C-c-c-come b-b-back..." I pleaded. I slowly drifted off to sleep.
30 minutes later, I woke up after falling flat on my face. I slowly opened my eyes. In front of me, a man in metal was holding his hand in front of me. "Take my hand!" He exclaimed. I didn't understand. "C'mon, William, take my hand!" The man said. I looked at my chains; they'd been cut. "William, stay with me! Take my hand!" I didn't understand what he was saying, but he was offering me his hand, and he'd cut me loose. I took his hand. He lifted me to my feet, and lifted me over his shoulder. "Hang on, buddy. We're getting out of here." The man said. "r-r-rings..." I muttered. "Got them right here. Snatched them when the old geezer wasn't looking." The man replied. I still didn't understand. "Wh-h-ho?" I asked. "Kyle." He answered. "K-kyle... thank y-y-you..." I said.
He carried me to the window and jumped out. About half way to the bottom, air started shooting out of his feet, slowing our descent. At the bottom, another man was waiting for us. He had gold, red, and silver hair. He wore a crown, and had a ring around each wrist and ankle. He wore a silver robe. He seemed to flicker, as if he wasn't truly there. One word flashed in my mind: Ozad. "Which way, Ozad?" The man who saved me asked. Still didn't understand. Ozad touched a wall, and a blue line shot across it. "Follow the line. It will lead to the exit." Ozad said.
Kyle started running. "Don't worry, William. Miles will know what to do." He said. I passed out.
I woke up, and saw Kyle, Miles, and Cody standing around me. I remembered everything that had happened. "Where am I?" I asked. "All right! I knew you'd pull through!" Cody exclaimed. I smiled at him. "Whoa, didn't expect that." Cody said with shock. I sat up, and realized I had a new mech on. "What? No smart ass responce?" Cody asked. "Not today." I said. "Hey, buddy, how are you?" Kyle asked. "Fine, thanks. How'd I get here?" I asked. "I found you chained to the wall in Vinthrol's tower. I brought you here, and Miles built a new mech for you." Kyle explained. "Thank you." I said. "So, how's the new mech working for you?" Miles asked. "That depends. What weapons does it have?" I asked. "Plasma grenades, energy rifles, bazukas, energy blades, machine guns, anti-matter cannons, and a few knifes." Miles answered. "Sweeeeet!!!" I exclaimed. "Dude, are you ok? You're acting... nice and happy." Cody said. "Well, enjoy it while you can. Tomorrow, things are going back to normal." I replied. "Now that's more like it!" Cody exclaimed.
Later on, I was walking through the halls of Cody, Miles, and Kyle's base. I ran into Kyle and said, "Hey." "How's it?" Kyle asked. "It's all good. I just wanted to apologize for the way I acted in the labrynth." I replied. "Hey, man, it's all good." Kyle said. "Also, could I have the rings back?" I asked, holding out my hand. "Sure." Kyle replied, pulling them out of a compartment in his hip. "Thanks, that feels better." I said. "So, where you gonna go after this?" Kyle asked. "Dunno. Think I'll just crash back at my place." I replied. After that, we parted ways.
"Well, now that I've got the rings back... NOVA DODGE!!!" I shouted, and appeared back at my cottage. "Whew, I was afraid I'd never get to do that again!" I exclaimed. I kicked back on the bed, and fell asleep.
The next day, I got on my computer and checked on the population of people that were still emotionless androids. 7,345,213,978,345. "Wow, 5 less than yesterday. The Alliance is making progress." I said, recalling back when I was a part of the alliance. Those days were long gone. The population of the human race was 7.5trillion.
I walked outside and sat on the porch swing. "Lauren..." I whispered into the wind. If only she were here now. That, of course, was impossible, seeing as she was dead.
While I was thinking back to the good old days with Lauren, my watch started beeping. "Uh oh. Where's the trouble?" I asked. "Planet Tosania. Alien forces are destroying human military bases there." The watch replied. "What race?" I asked. "Unknown." The watch replied.
I sighed, ran into the cargo bay, and jumped into my ship, the Nova Dodger. "Computer, take us to Planet Tosania!" I commanded. The ship and I vanished into hyper space.

Note: William is NOT gonna be nice to those 3 for ever. He was just being nice because they saved his life. He doesn't actually become his old self until WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAY into the future, AFTER Planet Mech is finished. |
