"Impact in 1 second." The computer announced. I shut my eyes and waited for the end.
There was a huge explosion, and I opened my eyes, expecting to be in heaven. Instead, I was still on the ship. "Computer, what happened?" I asked in shock. ".5 nano seconds before impact, Marvin was able to reconnect the circut breaker. This brought Nova Energy access to 98%. The sudden burst of energy was enough to force back the enemy's laser beam." The computer explained. "And the alien mother ship?" I asked. "Terminated." The computer replied. "OH YEAH! See, Marvin? I TOLD you we could do it!" I exclaimed.
No responce. "Marvin?" I asked. I spun around, and saw that he'd crashed against the wall. "How'd that happen?" I asked. "When he reconnected the wires that activated the circut breaker, the electric force in the wire shot him backwards." The computer answered. "Oh well. Just a robot." I said, and left the room as if nothing had happened.
Once I got back to the captain's room, I looked out the window and saw 6 shiny objects in the distance. "Computer, activate tractor beam. Target is the Nova Rings." I commanded. A beam shot from the ship, and the rings were pulled into the ship. "Beam them in." I commanded. The 6 rings appeared at my feet. I picked them up, and placed them on the console along with the 7th ring. The ship roared to life at the presence of so much energy. "Computer, get me contact with the ZXK." I comanded. Cody's image appeared on the moniter. "Cody, Miles, Kyle, ditch that fighter jet and get on here, NOW!" I demanded. "William, you're alive!" Cody exclaimed. "And you expected anything else?" I asked with disgust. "Nice to see you, too. So, how do we get on?" Cody asked. "Simple. Connect your ship onto the landing bay of my ship. Then, open the door, walk into the landing bay, and into my ship. Understand?" I asked as if I was explaining to a 3 year old how to do a kart wheel. "Okay, I get it. Dumb question." Cody said, and then his image vanished.
In a minute, Cody, Miles, and Kyle were with me again. Fantastic. "So, how fast can this baby go?" Kyle asked. "We should be home in about 30 seconds." I replied. "That's kinda fast. What if we crash into something?" Miles asked. I rolled my eyes, sighed in annoyance, and sat down. "Computer, prepare for Nova Dodge." I commanded. "Preparing. What is our destination?" The computer asked. "VQI, triple A9, Sulonia Beta 67935, codename: home." I replied. "Shall I give this area a codename as well?" The ship asked. "Sol." I answered. "Yes, sir. Now activating Nova Dodge." The ship said.
Instantly, we were flying a few miles above the Earth. I landed the Nova Dodger on an abandoned runway, and opened the doors. "Now, get out of the ship, and out of my life." I demanded. "See ya!" Kyle exclaimed, jumping off the ship. "Later!" Miles followed. "Catch ya later, dude!" Cody exclaimed. After the 3 of them were out, I shut the door and said, "Fat chance of that." "Where shall we go, now?" The computer asked. "Port." I replied. "Yes, sir. Now activating Nova Dodge." The ship said, and we vanished.
We appeared right in front of my cottage. "Computer, as soon as I get in the house, go into the cargo bay." I demanded. "Yes, sir." The computer answered. I walked out of the ship and back into my cottage. I went into the bedroom and flopped down on the bed. I pulled out the photo of Lauren and I at the Christmas party and stared at it for a long time. She had her tongue out and was giving me bunny ears. I was giving her antlers, and had my faced scrunched up. We were so happy... but those days are gone. I looked at the old memory, and cried myself to sleep. "If only you were here..." I said just before drifting off.
I found myself back in the temple with Ozad. "Ozad, what now?" I asked. His visits were getting kind of annoying now. "I just wanted to say that she isn't gone forever." Ozad replied. "Who?" I asked. Dumb question, I knew who. "Lauren." He replied. "How? You can do that?" I asked. "For the moment, no. My powers are still incredibly weak. I don't even exist as an actual entity any more. But in time, you can have her back. I promise." Ozad answered. "How much longer?" I asked. "That all depends on you and the other Ozadians." Ozad replied. "Just what is an Ozadian?" I asked. "All will be reveiled, in time." Ozad said, and then vanished. "Whatever." I said, and then slowly woke up.
I was hovering through the city, once again trying to figure out all my questions. However, I still wasn't able to come up with any solutions, so I just kept going. I wasn't sure where I was going, nor did I know what I was going to do once I got there. I had the 7 rings in hand, and was prepared for any thing that would jump at me.
All of a sudden, I found myself in a labrynth! "What the heck? How'd I get here?" I asked myself. I looked around, trying to make sense of what just happened. "NOVA DODGE!!!" I shouted. Nothing. I looked at the rings; They were entirely transparent. "What's going on?" I asked, angrily.
After a moment of wandering through the labrynth, I heard footsteps. "Who's there?" I asked. A monster rounded the corner. It had horns as long as tables, walked on 4 legs, and was covered in fur. It's eyes were filled with rage. It looked at me hungrily, bearing its yellow, sharp teeth. I pulled out my machine guns and opened fire. The monster was unaffected. "Ah, shit. I'm screwed AGAIN." I exclaimed. I began hovering away as fast as I could.
