Planet Mech [20] Invasion (continued)
|
"Are we there yet?" Cody asked. "No." I said. "Are we there yet?" He asked again. "NO." I answered again. "Are we there YET?" Cody asked for the 3rd time. "NO WE ARE NOT!!!" I yelled in his face. "Are we there YET?!?" He asked once more. "NO WE ARE NOT THERE YET!!! SO SHUT UP AND STOP ASKING!!!" I shouted at the top of my lungs. "Jeez, you're loud." Kyle said. "How do you do that without damaging your voice?" Miles asked me. I sat back down in my seat. After a minute, Cody asked, "Are we th---" "NO SO SHUT UP YOU DUMBASS, BEFORE I BLAST YOUR BRAINS OUT!!!" I shouted louder than I thought possible as I turned my arms into machine guns. "Okay! Okay! I'll stop!" Cody exclaimed, putting his arms into the air. "Good." I said, and put my guns away.
"Hey, I can see the Nebula!" Miles announced after a few minutes. I jumped out of my seat and looked out the window. A huge mass of purple semi-solids floated in the middle of space. "That's it!" I exclaimed. "So, are we there yet?" Cody asked. "Yes." Kyle replied.
Just then, the ship started vibrating and sparks were flying everywhere! "WAAAH!!! What's going on?!?" Miles asked. "We're under attack!" Kyle exclaimed. I looked out the window. "It's those alien scumbags. Computer, take evasive action!" I demanded. "I can't!" The computer exclaimed. "And why not?" I asked bitterly. "That last blast was a real doozy! It took out my guidance system!" The computer replied. "Grrr... Miles, you CAN fly this thing on your own, can't you?" I asked. "Of course! I've been flying this baby for 3 years!" Miles said enthusiastically. "Well then, SAVE US!!!" I shouted. He put the ship into full throttle, and we got blasted again. He tried dodging more, but we were getting hit by practically every shot! "I thought you said you could fly this thing!" I exclaimed. "Yeah, but I've never been in a dog fight before!" Miles admitted. "That would have been a lot more helpful if you told us that EARLIER!" I shouted. I pulled him out of the seat and sat down. "Step aside and let the pro drive." I said.
More blasts were fired. I did all sorts of corkscrews, barrel rolls, loop de loops, and other maneuvers. None of the blasts hit. "Computer, lock on to that ship over there!" I demanded. ... "Computer?" I asked. "Uh, William? The computer was taken out!" Miles exclaimed. "Well, if you had let me drive SOONER, that wouldn't have happened." I replied. I aimed as best as I could and fired. The ship blew up, and the blast took out 2 other ships as well. "Whoa, that was cool!" Cody exclaimed. "Oh please." I scolded. After a few more minutes of dodging and firing, most of the fleet had been destroyed. The rest fled back to the mother ship. "And THAT'S how you fly a ZXK!" I said with scorn. "So, what are we gonna do about that mother ship?" Kyle asked. "We blow it up." I replied. "How? The main lasers were damaged! The shots we have left aren't sufficient to take down a mother ship!" Miles replied. "Who says anything about this ship's lasers?" I asked. "What other lasers can we fire?" Cody asked. "You'll see." I replied. I flew for the Nebula.
"You know that once we get in there, the ship will stop working, don't you?" Miles asked. "Of course. However, the ship that we'll be flying will work, so shut your trap. Now, are there any space suits on this piece of junk?" I asked. "Just one." Cody replied. "Give it to me. Miles, fly us into the Nebula." I commanded. "Okay." He replied, and took the wheel.
A few minutes after getting the suit on, we landed on the Nebula. "Let me out." I said. "Okay!" Cody exclaimed, and let me into the air lock. After the first door shut, the 2nd one open and I walked out onto the Nebula. "Okay, the ship should be right... that way." I said to myself, pointing to the center. All of a sudden, the ground next to me exploded! I looked up, and saw an alien ship flying above me. "Ah, shit." I said. I used the rocket boots to travel through the nebula and dodge the blasts.
A moment later, I was far enough into the nebula to be safe from the aliens. "Well, now that that's over, let's find that ship." I said to myself.
I was in there for hours, trying to find the Nova Dodger. "Well, hope those guys haven't been blasted to bits yet." I muttered. As I was walking along, when a hint of metal caught my eye. I turned to look at it, and saw a ship that looked like the starship: Enterprise, except for it was red, yellow and orange. "That has to be it!" I exclaimed, and hovered over to it. I found the door and entered the ship.
"Okay, now, where's the captain's room?" I asked myself. I wandered for a few minutes, and finally found it. There were 2 chairs in front of a large window. In front of the left chair was a dash board with 7 poles sticking out of it. I walked up to it, and placed my Nova Ring on one of the poles. Instantly, the lights in the ship came on, and the hum of the engine started. I sat down, took the wheel, and flew out of the Nebula. I met up with the others, who managed to get the ship off of the semi-solid matter. "Whoa, nice ship you got there, William!" Cody exclaimed over the radio. "It ain't much." I replied, and flew towards the mother ship. "Incoming transmission." The computer announced. "Put it on the monitor." I demanded. The alien captain that I'd met a week ago appeared on the screen. I turned on my translator. "William, give me the Nova Dodger, and I will kill you rather painlessly." The captain said. "Oh, yeah right. How about I blast the crap out of you and leave with the ship?" I asked. "Don't forget: That will destroy the Nova Rings." The alien captain said. "Not really. You obviously don't know how strong they are. I could toss them into Arcturus and they'd still survive!" I exclaimed. "... go to hell." The alien captain replied. "After you." I offered. "Computer, fire Nova Blast Cannon!" I commanded. "Now firing." The computer said. "Well, I suppose we'll have to destroy you. Good bye." The captain said, and then vanished off of the screen.
"Hurry up, Computer!" I exclaimed. It still hadn't fired. "Firing Nova Blast Cannon in 5." The computer said. A saw the alien mother ship getting ready to fire. "C'mon!" I shouted. "3." The computer said. "2." "Now firing." The computer said. An orange blast of energy fired from the front of the ship. At the same time, a blue blast of energy fired from the alien mother ship. The blasts crashed into each other, and strained. "C'mon... C'mon..." I coaxed the ship, willing it to succeed. "If only I had those other Nova Rings!" I exclaimed. The blast slowly was creeping towards my ship. “Nova Ring Energy level at 90%.” The computer announced. “90? It shouldn’t be taking up that much energy. Computer, is something wrong?” I asked. “Minor circuit is loose. Not all power can be accessed.” The computer replied. “Where’s the problem?” I asked, frantically. The blast was coming closer and closer to the ship, and I knew I wouldn’t be able to hold out much longer. “Loose connection in room 42.” The computer answered. “Room 42? That’s on the opposite end of the ship! I’ll never make it! Unless…"
