Time Emblem
|
7 emblems. Fire. Water. Earth. Air. Darkness. Light. Electricity. Together, they unlock the emblem of time. They have been scattered across the planet. To stop the Time Emblem from falling into the wrong hands.
It was the middle of summer vacation, and for once, my family had gone nowhere. They decided that we should just stay home. I was bored, so I started heading for the park. Not an unusual trip, right? Wrong. On my way to the park, I came across a red stone. It was cut into the shape of a police badge, and had a flame etched onto the center. I found it just lieing in the middle of the road. No cars were coming, so I quickly ran up to it and picked it up. I was surprised at how heavy it was! Ever try lifting a bucket that was 3/4 full with water? It felt about that heavy. "Dang! Didn't expect that from such a small rock!" I muttered to myself.
As I sat on the sidewalk admiring the stone, a bright light pulsed from it! All of a sudden, my hand that had been holding the stone started to get really hot! I tried to let go of the stone, but it's like it was fused to me! I screamed in pain. "What's going on?!?" I asked myself.
After a few minutes, the pain finally stopped. Almost instantly, my hand cooled down to it's normal temperature, and I could let go of the stone. When I did, I saw the same flame embedded in my hand as was on the stone. "Whoa. Creepy." I muttered to myself. I picked up the stone and headed home so I could more closely study it. On my way there, Amy ran up to me. We'd been best friends since pre-school, and started 'dating' in 7th grade. I guess the only thing that changed was that we held hands occasionally, and we had the titles 'boyfriend and girlfriend'. Other than that though, our relationship was pretty much the same, aside from the occasional kiss on the cheek. "Hey, William! Whatcha got there?" She asked me. "A stone. Look what it did to me!" I held out my hand as I said this. "Wow, that looks painful!" Amy exclaimed. "It was! Although, it's fine now!" I replied. "So, where ya going?" She asked. "Home, to examine this stone some more!" I exclaimed.
So, she followed me the rest of the way home. She tried to hold my hand on the way, but as soon as she made contact, she jumped away and shouted, "Ouch! You're hot!" "Thanks!" I replied. "No, seriousely! Your hand burned me!" She exclaimed. It was the hand that had the flame on it. "You okay?" I asked. "Aside from the 3rd degree burn on my hand, yes!" She said sarcastically. "C'mon! My mom's a nurse! She'll know what to do!" I assured her. We ran the rest of the way to my house.
"Well, you weren't gone very long!" My mom exclaimed as we walked in the door. "Mom, Amy got burned!" I said. "Okay, let me take care of it!" My mom replied. "C'mon, Amy! Let me see where you got burned!" She said. Amy walked up to her and held out her hand. "Wow! That looks painful! Let me fix that for you!" my mom exclaimed. "Thanks, Mrs. Scott!" Amy replied. "Please, call me Liz!" My mom exclaimed.
After a few minutes, my mom still couldn't do anything to get rid of the burn. "What happened?" She asked. "Well, I found this rock, and it burned a symbol of a flame onto my hand. Then, she tried to hold my hand, and got burned!" I explained. "Maybe we should call a hospital." My mom suggested. "No, it's fine! The pain will subside eventually." Amy refused. "Well, okay! You 2 go out and play! Have fun!" My mom exclaimed. We walked out the door and headed for the park. "Your mom's so nice!" Amy exclaimed. "you may think that, but wait until you get on her bad side!" I replied.
when we arrived at the park, we sat down at a picnic table to examine the stone. "Hey, I have a stone like that in my perse!" Amy exclaimed after she got a closer look. She pulled out a blue stone that had the same shape, and it had a water drop embedded on it. "I found it last year when my parents took me to Hawaii!" "Wow, you went to Hawaii last year?!? Lucky! I'd love to go see the volcanoes!" I exclaimed. "It wasn't that great! Someone let something loose in the water, so I couldn't go swimming the entire time!" Amy replied. After a few minutes of examining both stones, she grabbed hers with her good hand to put it back in her perse. Then, amazingly, her burned hand healed! "Wow! That was cool!" I exclaimed. Her hand looked wet, as though she had just dipped it in cold water. When it dried off, the water drop on her stone had been etched onto her hand. "Well, if this isn't the strangest day ever, I don't know what is!" I exclaimed. "Even stranger than when your pants AND underwear fell off while you were climbing that rope in PE?" She asked. I blushed at that memory. "Never should have worn loose boxers that day..." I said, partially to myself. Amy laughed. "It isn't funny!" I told her. "Yes it is!" She replied. My face went red, partially with anger and partially out of embarrasment! "Stop it!" I shouted. She just staired at me wide eyed. "What?" I asked. "Your hair's on fire!!!" She exclaimed. "Oh yeah right!" I exclaimed. She pulled a mirror out of her purse. MY HAIR WAS ON FIRE!!! I ran around the park, screaming like crazy. Amy couldn't help but laugh. "Wait a second, why doesn't this hurt?" I asked. "I don't know!" Amy replied. Then, she pulled out a water gun! "How much stuff do you keep in that thing, anyways?" I asked. She drenched me with it, and laughed. "Oh gee, thanks! Now what am I gonna do?" I asked. All of a sudden, I felt dry. Steam was coming off my body! "Wow! That sure is helpful!" I said to myself.
After that, we both returned to our own homes. I grabbed a cup and filled it with water. The water evaporated. I put in ice. The ice evaporated. "Whoa." I said.

Oopsy, me do bad. You know how at the top, it says that 'Electricity' is one of the Emblems? Yeah, it was actually supposed to say 'Shadow'. Just thought I'd clarify that. |
