Sequerrian Pt. 8

Creative Created on 7-28-08 Views(90) Story Rating G

Valeria and I walked into the room where Henry and Vincent were, and I almost started to laugh when I saw that Vincent was poking the unconscious Henry with the tip of his sword and asking if he was okay.

“You have to wake him up, he is unconscious,” I said in the middle of a giggle fit.

“Wake him up because he is unconscious? He sure seems like a dead man to me; either that or he is sleeping,” Vincent said with an unsure look plastered on his face.

“You have never seen an unconscious person?”

“Well, I have heard of that state of being, but I am not sure if I have ever actually seen it in the flesh. Is it dangerous to my health?” I started to giggle at his innocence, “Why are you laughing? I could have caught unconsciousness from him already and you would not even know.”

I pushed him aside, still laughing and started to shake Henry awake, “Henry? Wake up Henry,” His eyes fluttered open after hearing my voice, and he smiled.

“Did you see the dragon I was talking about, Fresia? I was not hallucinating was I?” His smiled faded marginally at the sight of Vincent and Valeria. “Who are they? I only remember there being you, me and that humongous dragon out in the corridor.”

Valeria knelt beside me, and looked at Henry with a smile on her face, “Hello, male savior Henry, I am Valeria,” She put out her hand to shake his but he only looked at her unsteadily.

“Why would I care who you are, and why did you call me male savior?” I shook my head, once a Prince, always a Prince I guessed. If he wanted to be normal, and have friends and such, he would have to lose the snobbish royal attitude.

Valeria frowned and pushed a lock of silvery hair from her face. She snorted once, expelling the same rings that had held me as she had spoken with me in the hall. The rings wrapped around Henry in the same fashion and lifted him to standing position before us. She rose with him and laughed at his scared expression, “I am dragon that you saw, little boy. Do not talk to people in such a way; you never know what creature they might be.”

She released him as I fell over laughing at his pale face. Vincent started to laugh too, along with Valeria; Henry just stood, rooted into his spot, glaring coldly at me, “What are you laughing at, maid?” His formal name for me brought upon us a new wave of laughter, triggering the other two likewise. I felt horrible for Henry, but he was being so… childish.

“I do not see what is so funny about a man being scared out of his wits by a dragon, a knight, and a maid,” He crossed his arms over his chest and sneered at the three of us. I stopped laughing and looked straight back into his blue eyes, saying nothing.

“You know, if you want to normal as you say, you need to learn to laugh at yourself,” I was surprised to hear Vincent speaking to Henry in such a gentle tone. He walked up beside me and wrapped on arm around my waist, “This lovely young woman was not meaning to be mean to you; that the look on your face was priceless.”

I stepped out of Vincent’s grasp, glaring at him as he winked at me, and walked toward Henry’s tense figure, wrapping my arms around his shoulders and resting my head on the right shoulder, “Forgive me?”

He shrugged out of my hug, just to give me one of his own, and said, “Of course I do, Fresia, you are my friend after all.”

“Ah, is that not the sweetest thing ever?” I heard Vincent’s voice dripping with envy and sarcasm, “Valeria, tell Henry about Fairqwerest so we may get going to safe out world.” I looked over to see Vincent leaning against a wall, arms crossed, and a bitter look on his handsome face. Why did he have to be so angry about it? Just because we met not that long ago did not mean I wanted to marry him and was already in love…

Valeria proceeded to tell the wide eyed Henry all about Fairqwerest as I gathered food and Vincent tried to flirt with me, “So, why are you going for that Prince when you could always have someone like me?” He slicked his hair back with his left and hand and smiled provocatively.

“Well,” I shoved a few pears into my dress pocket, planning to bring it to my little brother and sister before I left to safe another dimension, “He is not full of himself, and he has not hit on me while I try to have a decent conversation with him. He also is just a friend,” Though I was thinking that it could be nice for it to be more than just that, “And I enjoy his company. Does that answer your question, Sir Vincent?”

With a sour look on his face he stalked off to check on Valeria and Henry to see when and how soon we would be leaving to their land, Fairqwerest.
