Sequerrian Pt. 5

Creative Created on 6-3-08 Views(107) Story Rating G

I watched him silently as he spoke. It hurt me to watch him with so much sorrow, even though he had been heartless to me a few minutes before. I turned away from the door, deposited my load back onto the table, and returned to his side.

"You seem to care, Fresia," he spoke as he looked to me. "Why? I have done nothing to make you care... I have not even been nice this short while I have known you. I treated you so..." He obviously did not know what to say.

I wrapped one arm around his shoulder and squeezed lightly. "You are not treating me badly now, My Lord." I smiled at him warmly, hoping to cheer him up.

"Please, call me Henry. If you are willing to be my friend... and maybe stay in the palace?" He was using one of those exceedingly sad puppy dog looks that my little brother used when he wanted me to do something for him.

"I cannot, My Lord..." He gave me an accusatory look. "Henry." He smiled slightly as I spoke his name. "I have to stay with my siblings. You may visit me if you would like." I stood at that moment, hearing a noise outside the door.

"Whats wrong?" Henry's sadness melted immediately, and he took on the attitude of a royal yet again.

"A noise, Henry." I whispered to not give whatever was outside a clue as to our actions.

Henry withdrew his knife for a second time and approached the closed door siliently, as if there was a dragon just outside. Psh, nothing that dangerous had ever been known to be real. I followed steathily behind him, not wanting to be left alone if he entered the hall. He opened the door without so much as a creak of the old iron hinges and peaked ouside.

Flinging the door shut, he leaned against it while drawing in a shuddering breath. "D-d-d-d-d"

"What was it?" I made a move to open the door and peer out as well, but he pushed me back.

    "Dragon!"

"What did you say?" I glared at his stupid joke. "This is not funny, Henry." I stamped my foot like an impatient little girl.

"D-dragon... outside the door... just lik tapestry... knight there too..." He fainted at that moment, making me even more infuriated with such a juvenile joke.

"You are so horrible..." I shoved his limp body aside, yanked open the door, and stomped out into the hall. What I saw there was weird... no, not scary weird. I would say more like TERRIFYINGLY WEIRD!!!
