Just Try to Guess [nine]

It had been about a week and a half since that weekend and the only thing people were talking about was the anual DC trip for the juniors. "Are you guys going," Charlie asked.

"Of course," Nicole and Faith said simutaniously. Then things became quiet and they all looked towards Mikayla who hadn't answered yet. She looked away and tried to ignore them, but the silence killed her.

"I don't know if i can go, first i need to pass my science presentation and then i need to make sure i can swing it." she said.

"Swing it," Faith said as she took away the paper Mikayla was filling out. It was financial aid for the trip.

"Yeah, like money. Duh!" she said grabbing the paper back. And filling it out, sometimes she cold be cold and distant to the other girls, but that made her who she was.

"Ok, and why wouldn't you pass," Charlie asked, "Your like a genius."

"Yeah, have you met my partner we both had to turn in an essay and do a seperate oral presentation to assure that we both knew it, and there is a reason he has spent most summers at school." she said. It was the only thing Mikayla ever got worried about.

"True he isn't bright," Nicole said. She looked at Mikayla who was angry. "Well, your doomed," she said with a smile at the end.

"Thanks for the bubling confidence," Mikayla said first with a smile that soon transitioned into a glare.

It was good old fourth period and Mikayla had been anticipating the grade ever since they did the project. Anything above a B was an acheivement. When the teacher made the announcement, "If you want to know your project grade come to me after class."

"You can go find out Priness i'll wait outside for the news," Matthew leaned over and whispered in her ear. She was fine with the plan she wanted so badly to know. As soon as the bell rang she ran up to the teachers desk. He showed her the computer grade book, and she went down to her name to see A written next to it. She jumped with excitement and ran outside.

She looked down the hall to see where Matthew was waiting, she spotted him up against the wall by the back door. He was leaning against the wall with one of his feet lifted up against the wall. She walked over acting disappointed."So bad news," he asked questionably.

"Yeah," Mikayla said as she sighed and looked down, "I guess this year you'll just have to make due with one less sumer school class." She smiled and looked up. She was so excited she gave him a hug.

"Wow, someones excited," he said trying to be cool about the hug, he looked up to hide his excitement. And she let go and did about 5 cartwheels down the empty hallway, i don't think any of them have seen Mikayla so excited.

"So if you do go to DC, who are we all sharing rooms with," Nicole asked.

"I'm going, but i'm not sharing a room with the two girls with love on the brain," Mikayla said.

"Fine me and Faith, Mikayla and Charlie,"Nicole said.

"So we are all going," Charlie said in excitement. They all went home that night and packed for a whole week in DC. And Sunday evening they all piled into a bus that drove them to the plane and by the 9:00 everyone was in there rooms in a hotel room.

"look our room is connected to someone elses lets see who it is," Charlie said. Mikayla was not interested because she knew it wasn't Nicole and Faith, they were across the hall. She knocked on the door and as soon as the other side opened Charlie closed it as quick as she could.

"Who was it," Mikayla asked.

"Sean," she said.

"Who the hell, is Sean," Mikayla asked.

"Only the captain of the soccer team," Charlie began, "he is sooooooo hot." Mikayla looked at her confused until the light finally went off in her head.

"Oh," she started and saw a spark in Charlie who thought Mikayla understood, "we have a soccer team?"

"Very funny," Charlie said.

"Well, go ask him out and join the rest of our group." Mikayla said sarcastically.
