Chapter 20
He picked her up and carried her outside. David struggled to do it, and he even turned back once. His decision was final he had to, not for him but for her. He was dirty and ragged. He maintained poise and walked across the lawn to a quiet destination. The grass crunched under their weight put together. The moon was high above the pair; slightly blocked by the clouds that surrounded it. David lightly placed her on the ground and held her against him. He cut her hand and then his own. David took a deep breath as he locked them together. His heart leapt forward as he made the transfusion of her blood with his. Her back arched and her face looked pain stricken. He could feel the life/ death of him taken away. David dropped her hand instantly. She tossed around on the grass and kicked as the blood worked its way into her system. Finally, she came to a halt and went limp on the grass. He crawled over to her and waited silently. His eyes sparkled when she opened her eyes slowly. He pulled her into a hug and whispered, “I love you!” she coughed and admitted, “I love you too!” A smile broke out across her face and she buried her face in his chest. He kissed her softly on the head. Erin and David sat there together and watched the sun slowly rise. He leaned over and kissed her cheek. Together forever!
