The Other Side.

The Other Side.

Drama Created on 1-2-08 Views(51) Story Rating G

There are a few things in life that are hard to hate. Hard, but not impossible. For instance, the fact that my sister is famous is something that is hard to hate. Of course being known as "Julie's sister" or "The blonde" does get annoying and having the family fuss over her every second gets old and the fact that my pay check is less than the cost of her outfit could make someone jealous, but there are some good sides to this. And those good things include free trips all over the world, endless amounts of designer clothes (you know, the ones she couldn't be seen twice in), tickets to hollywood premieres and parties, and not to mention an amazing room in my sister's wonderful mansion. I get all the perks to this life style without the parts that are a little less fun.

My phone started to ring, reminding me that I was suppose to be working on Julie's schedule not day dreaming about life. I glanced at the caller ID. Speak of the devil.

"Hey Julez." I twisted a long strand of my blonde hair around my finger. "What's up."

"Nothing, shopping on Robertson Boulevard. Meet me for a late lunch? I have something very important I need to tell you."

"I'm working on how your life is going to go for the next month. How important is this?" To Julie anything could be important. Being on another cover of a magazine, a good shoe sale, or a new movie shoot.

"Yes! Let's do sushi. You know the spot." And with that she hung up the phone.

I threw my Iphone and my Blackberry into my purse and pulled my long hair into a lose bun. I put on my oversized sunglasses and made my way out of the house, knowing I would be greeted by the paparazzi as I walked into the world of the rich, the famous and the fake.

As I walked to the restaurant sure enough I was greeted by about twenty guys holding large cameras. When I got to the door the host opened it for me, giving me his large, forced smile. I nodded at him as my eyes scanned for my sister. I could tell he was wondering if I was somebody important or if I was just trying to be someone important.

"Name?" He asked politely, trying to make out who I was. All he knew was that I was tall, thin, and had blonde hair. My sunglasses hid everything else.

"I'm meeting Julie Parker." I paused then muttered the words I hated so very much. "I'm her sister."

His smile faded slightly as he discovered that I wasn't someone important and he cleared his throat. "Right this way."

He led me out to tbe back patio, a very pretty area with glass tables and tall seats on top of marble floor and a tall fence to keep everyone from spying. I spotted Julie righ away and she smiled and took off her glasses as I sat across from her.

"Glad you made it sister." She flashed me a perfect smile.

"Yeah well, I don't have anything better to do." I took off my  own sunglasses and grinned at her.

She laughed and ran her fingers through her newly dyed brown hair. "So I got a call today about my new movie...Second Chance...remember that one?"

"Of course. That doesn't start for another three months right? With that new actor, Billy or Johnny or whatever his name is." I responded, taking a sip of water.

"Well actually, it got moved up. Bobby had a change of heart so they got another actor to take his spot. Conner Turner." She raised her eyebrow at me. "He is so hot. I've been dying to meet him. Anyway, we start shooting a little sooner."

"How soon is sooner?" I asked, a bad feeling entering my body.

"Tomorrow." She focused her blue eyes on the table.

"Julie! Tomorrow? You had things to do tomorrow."

Her eyes met mine again. "Calm down Sarah, it's not that big of a deal. I can do those other things another time."

It was times like this when I wanted to slap her. It was my job to make sure everything went smoothly and that is hard to do when she doesn't make it easy on me. "Yeah...okay... what time do I have to get you to the airport?"

"Four in the morning." She smiled at the waiter as he placed the dishes in front of us.

"Four!" I counted to ten in my head to calm down then looked at her. "Okay, we can do this. Then let me know right away what days you have off from shooting so we can get those other things done."

She smiled at me. "Oh, you'll know right away. You are coming with me."

I wanted to stay mad at her, but my anger slipped a little when she told me that. It was always exciting going along with her. "Oh. Where are we going."

"Colordao for now."

I smiled. "It could be fun. I need a vacation."

She laughed. "See!"

I glanced at the time. "Well let's get going. We need to go home and pack."

She rolled her eyes at me. "Sarah, we don't need to go pack... we need to go shopping for new clothes for the trip!" She handed her black American Express card to the waiter.

I grinned. "That is something I won't argue with." I put back on my sunglasses, and took a bite of sushi.
