As I slept I dreamt of the cold. I dreamt of death creeping towards me and whispering in my ear. I felt my heartbeat slow at his touch. Then it stopped causing me to gasp for air, but it did not come. No air filled my lungs. Instead I fell back choking on nothing. I grabbed at my neck and tears came to my eyes. I was going to die. Why was I fighting this?
Someone ran in and pushed me down. They held my arms and legs down as if I was in a nut house of some sort. My body reacted in panic. It fought back without my approval. I'm still slightly confused about what had happened.
My eyes had shut tightly and the next thing I felt was a warm drip on my tongue followed by a few more. Immediately I calmed down, but started to crave it more and more. I followed the sent in a daze pushing the person off of me. The drops ceased upsetting my body and I attacked.
My mind and body separated as my victim screamed. The warmth filled me and I reconnected. I was able to take in my surroundings for a moment. In my grasp was a body. It slipped as I watched it's life drift away.
Then I heard death's chuckle. I turned barring my teeth, but fell to my knees as I felt weak once more.
Exhaustion overwhelmed me and passed out again.
Life wasn't fighting for me any longer. I was left as prisoner of war.
