A boy pulled a letter from his locker. On the front was written Contagious. He looked confused, but opened it quickly. He seemed engrossed. It was a short letter, but he reread it over and over. Minutes passed by. As he came out of his daze he continued to put his stuff in his locker and pulled out his jacket. Shutting the locker he looked around realizing the hustle and bustle of high school had deserted the hallways. Only one girl was there. She sat on the floor leaning against the lockers. Her eyes shut as she listened to her mp3 player. One song set to repeat. (do you know what song it is?) The boy quickly walked over to her and sat next to her. His arm brushed her as he sat beside her causing her to open one eye. She closed her eye and smiled,"You figure it out already?"
"Why didn't you tell me?" He stared at her.
Calmly she replied,"You want me to tell you in person? Fine. Jake B. Tanner, I, Melissa R. Smith, am madly in love with you for no reason what so ever."
He looked down at her hands as the grip tightened on the mp3, "That's not what I meant."
"Then what did you mean?"
"Why didn't you tell me how much you were hurting?"
"How could you, of all people, ask me such a stupid question?"
"I don't think that's a stupid question."
The girl pulled herself up off the ground and waked towards the two front doors,"Fine, I'll answer with a stupid question. How can you expect me to tell you every time your ripping my heart out?"
