My heart was racing and I wasn't able to breathe. I felt like I was supposed to be running, but my body wouldn't move. There was darkness all around me and I felt something grab my shoulder. I turned my head slowly and saw a rotted hand grasping my shoulder. I let out a blood curdling scream and realized the owner of the hand was my mother's corpse. 

"Sam." It whispered tightening its grip."Sam. Sam."

I tried to break loose, but it just shook me and tightened its grip more causing me to shout in pain. "Sam. Wake up. Sam."

I jerked upwards and opened my eyes. My back was covered in cold sweat. It was still dark in the room except the light shining through the window. I took in a deep breathes and remembered someone had been saying my name. 

"Sam, are you okay?"  A young man had been staring at me the whole time.

    "Huh? Oh, yes I'm fine."

    "What's wrong? Your shaking." I looked down at my hands and grabbed them trying to stop myself.

    "I'm fine." I quickly changed the subject."Your not. You should be in bed."

    He gave me a weird look and then said,"I'm just as fine as you."

Then he coughed into his hand multiple times before being able to catch his breathe.

    "Your not fine at all."

    "That's my point." He did have a good point, but I wasn't about to tell him that. I took his hand and helped him into his bed. Then I went to the water basin and wet the clothe again and dabbed his forehead. 

    "Your fever has gone down, but not much. You better stay until morning and I'll check you again."

    "Has anyone ever told you, you have the most beautiful eyes?" He smiled causing me to turn red. My eyes were an odd color, a dark reddish purple, but no one had ever called them beautiful. Most people thought them rather scary. Not thinking of the possibility of getting sick, but I bent over and kissed him on the lips. 

    "Thank you." I whispered and I laid down on the floor my back to him. A few moments later I felt him place a blanket on me and I was able to fall asleep quickly.
