Alis
“What are you talking about? Going under the Blacke Garden?”
“That's exactly what we're doing.” I noticed his ears twitched when he asked questions it made me smile.
“What are you smiling about?”
“Nothing.” Becoming serious again, “We need to hurry down these stairs. If we run down them we should be under the Blacke Garden in a matter of seconds. Okay? “
He shook is head in agreement and we began our quick descent. I was right about getting down the stairs quickly. We had reached the passage way at the end in less than a minute. I started to walk through the wall when Regor asked, “How do we get out of here? There's nothing, but wall.”
“Just watch.”That was all I said before I walked through the wall. I reached my hand back through and signaled him to follow. Immediately after he came charging through knocking me down. “What's your problem?”
“Sorry if not used to just walking through walls.” He said as he helped me up. I just grinned.
Regor
As I followed Alis through a long corridor I kept up my guard. Not sure what to expect. She led me through a door this time which led into a large room that didn't seem very big because the walls were a black stone that were very smooth. The floor on the other hand was made up white marble which brightened up the room very much.
I looked over to find Alis staring up at the ceiling in awe. I followed her gaze and saw two large white fish swimming above her head. If you looked even closer you could see a full moon as well. “How'd you find this place?”
It took her awhile to reply. Maybe it was because the fish were so mesmerizing or if she didn't know if she wanted to tell me, not exactly sure. She took hold of my hand and pulled me through another wall which led me into a small cave with a waterfall in it. This place was becoming even more amazing by the minute. We walked over to the edge she removed her shoes to put her feet in the water.
“I wanted to be comfortable before I told you my story.” I sat next her and did the same. I expected the water to be cold, but it was a comforting warm. I found it odd that Alis was so relaxed when her mother is trying to kill us. I just sat with her and waited for her story.
She finally began. “It was my eighth birthday and you were off talking to your dad about something. So I went off to the Blacke Garden and sat near the pond. I was watching the fish swim around when I noticed there was something white on the bottom. Being only eight, I was very curious. So, I reached in and tried to touch it, but with my luck I fell in. I thought I was going to drown, but then I opened my eyes and found that I was dry and laying on a white marble floor. It was very strange, but I ignored it and started to explore. That's how I found this waterfall, the secret passage in the hall, and how to walk through certain parts of the walls.”
“So, that's why I couldn't find you after my father was done talking to me.” I considered what she had said for a moment and was content with her story. “Well, your one lucky girl to have found such a magnificent place.”
“Thanks.”She sighed.
“Something wrong?” She pulled her feet out of the water and hugged her knees close to her chest.
“Not really. It's just do you see that curtain over there?” She pointed over at the back of the cave and surely I saw a white curtain hanging on the wall were she had pointed.
“Yes, what about it?”
“Well, I've tried pulling it down several times and for some reason it one come off. I'm sure there's something behind it. I just don't know what.”
“Is there any writing on the wall next to it?”
“Yes, something about needing a guide to find the path through the mirror.”
I stood up, dusted myself off, and started towards the mirror.
“Where are you going?”
“I'm going to be your guide.”
