P.S. I Love You [20]

ONE YEAR LATER

It was senior prom. I had a gorgeous dress, my hair was beautiful, but I didn’t have a date. Almost everyone had a date, but I still wanted to go I mean its prom!

When Jenna came to pick me up she asks, “Are you sure you want to go?”

“Yes because maybe a guy will ask me to dance.” I said

“Okay, but if you end up sitting there all alone it’s not my fault.”

“I know it would be my fault.”

            I got in the car and we drove off to prom. Once we got there Jenna met with her date Michael and we took our prom picture. For awhile I was just sitting there, drinking and eating. Then Chad asked me to dance so I did. After that Jack asked me to dance so I danced with him too. It was like my ex’s reunion.

            Then it was the rest of the prom that I was just sitting there hoping that the perfect guy would ask me to dance. I kept looking at the happy faces. I thought I was smiling, but when I saw my reflection a frown was on my face. All the sudden there was a shadow over me and I had a smile on my face. It was only Jenna. “Are you okay?” She asked

“Yeah I think I am just going to leave.” I said

“Okay, well I am sorry things didn’t turn out the way you wanted them to.”

“Actually ever since Dustin has been gone this is how I imagined prom.”

“Oh well sorry.”

“It’s okay.”

“Do you have a ride?”

“Yeah, my mom is picking me up.”

“Okay see you tomorrow.”

            I didn’t have a ride home, so I just sat on the edge of the fountain and looked at my reflection. All the sudden I saw Dustin’s reflection. I knew I was just imagining things. So I splashed the water and started to cry. Someone sat next to me and hugged me. “What’s wrong? Isn’t this how you imagined prom? Isn’t everything here?” Someone said

“No, Dustin isn’t here.” I said

“Look up and you will find him.”

            I looked up and there was Dustin, hugging me. “What are you doing here?” I asked

“Going to school.” He answered

“What, but I thought you were in Florida?”

“My problem is solved, I love you.”

“I love you too.”

            We kissed for awhile. Then we went into the prom and while we walked in everyone stared at us. It was everything I wanted prom to be. I had the perfect dress, I great hair, and the perfect boy. They announced prom king and queen, which were me and Dustin. That was the best prom any girl can dream of. Well that’s where my story ends about how I met Dustin and how I fell in love.
