• It's been almost a year since my mom died and I lost my sight. It's not like it’s a bad thing because I would'nt been able to see her anyway right. I still remember back when she was at the hospital I would enter a wrong room and sit there for a while and then discover that the patient wasn’t my mom. Sometimes I laugh about it but most of the times it hurts. You know to never see life is a lot easier than seeing it and then losing the ability to do it no more. I always wondered what its like to be in the dark. Like when they shut your grave on you that’s defiantly not fun. But anyway am starting to cope with it. Today I fell because my stupid brother won't keep the chair in its place. Its really hard to live into the walls, to have to count the stairs and your always one step behind. Yet I can always dream and in my dreams I can do whatever I want, I can see whatever I want. Next month is my 16^th birthday. Usually people get excited at their sixteen birthdays because the get to have their driving license. I always wanted mine but I don’t mind not having it I don’t want to drive over people. Anyway I got so much better at eating today, well I still have to squeeze the food before I eat it. And that always made my sister disgusted and she would leave the table instantly. I know she loves me but I bet it would look disgusting. So I asked them to bring me my food upstairs. Oh good thing about being blind, you get everything you ask for. Its really cool to be blind somehow not having to open the light for the bathroom which is a habit. I remember when the light would go off and neither me or my brother would change it into a new one. So my brother would have the bathroom door open because he was afraid of the dark even though he is older than me. But I always locked the bathroom door and stared at the thin light on edge of the door and the more I stared it almost seemed like the light is getting bigger and bigger and then I end up having my eyes crossed. Anyway am writing today because am bored and I think the fact that I cant read what I write is pretty cool because I cant change anything. Today my brother was teasing me about being blind which doesn’t hurt as much today. And then I dared him to close his eyes and walk around for at least 15 minutes but he freaked out after a while I wonder why. So I been wondering about something even though I cant see why do I keep having my eyes open. Why don’t I just close them what's the different? Or like why can't I sleep with my eyes open? Oh! And I had been thinking a lot lately about girls. How am I supposed to date again? I mean even if I do date how can I look less miserable? Or like why would they even date me to begin with. So many questions going through my head and I find no answers. I guess that’s why they say blind people have insights because if you can't look you end up thinking more. I bet my handwriting looks ridiculous but I don’t care. I hate talking about being blind because all people do when they hear me is pitty. I don’t want no one's god damn petty. What am I suppose to do with it? So that’s why I always try to act strong and its hard sometimes not to know what people are making of their faces when they talk to you. So today Rita is coming to our house. And I really like her a lot and I wish I could tell her. She is really nice to me and all. And she is so much fun but still I don’t know what to do. I might ask her out today, after all I have nothing to lose. I will let you know what happen tomorrow now am tired and am gonna try to sleep with my eyes open today.
