Dom was in the hospital for over 2 weeks. Stephenie was there every day. Her dad would come there and tell her she nedded to go home now, but otherwise, she didn't really know what else to do with her time. Joan and Louis still weren't talking to her, and she was sure that her and Louis were through...and she didn't care.

A week into his time there, Dom woke up. Stephenie was sitting in the chair next to his bed reading the book he gave her, when she heard him stir. He groaned a little and she gasped, running over to him.

"Dom!" she cried, happy tears in her eyes.

"S-steph?" he managed to say.

"Yes Dom. It's me. I'm here," she whispered.

"I thought--" he started.

"Shh. No. I would never wish for you to die. Dom, I got the note you wanted to give me and I have something to tel you," she said. He was quiet. "I'm sorry. I never meant for this to happen. Me and Louis are through. He and Joan still won't call me and I...I love you," she said, exasperated.

His eyes widened as much as they could.

"What?" he stumbled.

"Yes," she wimpered.

"I love you Stephenie. I always have. I just don't--"

"I know. I'm sorry. I love you too," she said. She kissed him softly. He smiled as much as he could.

Stephenie went home early that day from the hospital. She found she had two new messages. She played them. One was from Louis and the other from Joan.

"Hey Steph. It's Louis. I wanted to say that I'm sorry that I didn't give you a chance to explain what happened. I should've. I know that Dom kissed you and you couldn't leave, but I was just so mad. I'm really soory. Please call me."

She scoffed at the message. Why did he assume that Dom kissed her and she couldn't leave? Maybe he kissed her and she wanted to stay. Maybe she kissed him. He didn't have to pin it on Dom.

"Hey Steph. It's Joan. I talked to Louis and Matt and they both told me that I should call you and apologize. Louis said he was so I should too. But that's why I did it. I realize that I was stupid for not letting you explain. It was a bad thing to do and I'm sorry. Please call me. Soon."

Stephenie didn't find this one offensive. Joan was sorry and she didn't assume that it was Dom's fault and, no matter how weird this may seem, she actually liked that. She called Joan first. She explained everyhting to her. How Dom had kissed her, but she felt the sparks and didn't want to leave him, then they showed up and she told him to drop dead. She explianed about the crash and the note and the alcohol and how she had just come from the hospital and he just woke up whe she got the messages. She even told her that she loved Dom. This one caught her off guard. She promised to explain it all another time, but now it was time to call Louis.

The phone rang 3 times and she heard an answer.

"Hello?" Louis anwered.

"Hi Louis. I need to--" she was cut off.

"Oh Steph! I'm so glad you called. I can't believe Dom roped you in like that and I just completely overreacted. I'm sorry baby. I can't believe I did that. Please forgive me?" he begged.

"Louis?"

"Yea Steph?" he sounded worried.

"I want to break up." she said bluntly.

There was silence.

"I understand the shock you might be feeling right now but don't say anything. I've got some explaing to do." She told him everything. About how she liked om's kiss, about how she loved him, and how she wanted to be friends, but if he didn't wnat that, it was understandable. When she finshed, he was still silent.

"Louis?" she asked, worried he might've passed out or soemthing.

"I'm here," he assured her.

"Okay well now that I've said what I feel, I'll let you collect your thoughts and...well...goodbye," she told him. The phone hit the reciever and to her surprise, she was smiling. After probably breaking the heart of the boy who had loved her, she was smiling. She was just happy that maybe she could finally get some peace.

She drove back to the hospital and stayed by Dom's side all night this time.
