  Her name was Ellie, she had graduated high school and couldn't wait to leave for college.  She wanted to get out of the little town that she lived in and go somewhere new and different.  She had lived in that town all of her life and knew everybody that lived there as well.  Ellie picked a school that was only two hours away, just in case she wanted to come home at any point in time and she couldn't sit in the car for much longer than that.  When the time came for Ellie to go to college she had an overwhelming feeling of emptiness in her.  She felt like she was leaving everything she had ever had and known behind her.  Ellie felt as if she were going to cry which was unusual because she the last person you would see crying.  Ellie was a tough girl she didn't show her emotions alot and when she did it was very rare.

  
  When Ellie was saying goodbye to her little sister Michelle she got teary eyed and had to turn away really fast so Michelle would not see.  Ellie gave Michelle a hug and ran out the door without looking back.  She couldn't even say anything to her not even goodbye.  But then saying goodbye to Ellie meant that she was actually leaving.  She didn't know what was going to happen to her when her parents dropped her off at school. 
 

"Are you ready to leave?" her mother asked.

"Yea I guess so." Ellie answered.

"You're sure you have everything? You didn't forget anything in the house?" Ellie's father asked. 

"I am pretty sure I didn't leave anything.  I checked like ten times Dad."

"Well good, because even if you did I don't think there is enough room in the van for it."

"Sorry Dad. I didn't mean to have so much stuff. But I don't know what all I need."

"Come on you guys, lets get going or we will be late!" Ellie's mom said as she got in the van.

Ellie and her father get in the van and they begin on their two hour journey to Ellie's school.
